One Layer Wednesday 112 – Song in my Heart

I discovered Ardyth’s One Layer Wednesday yesterday and as OLCs are probably the ultimate in CAS, I thought I’d play along 🙂  The theme this week is ‘Song in my Heart’ so I spent the day with one song after another popping into my head, depending on what I was doing (Heard it Through The Grapevine, Paint it Black, Knock on Wood, If I had a Hammer … you get the drift!).  My challenge was finding a stamp to illustrate any of them … I don’t have that many … yet!  Anyway, I finally settled on Fade to Grey by Visage ’cause I thought the title was wide enough ranging to allow me to find something appropriate!

I have rather a delicate stamp set called Graceful Grasses … it’s quite small so I used it plenty of times to create a ‘field’ along the bottom of the card … and then practiced a few (!) times to work out which colours worked best to fade to grey with … the lilacs, blues and green appealed most, so here it is, with a simple ‘hello’ sentiment.

Here’s the very brief list of what I used:  Stamps: Craftwork Cards (Image), Stampendous (Sentiment),  Colours: Promarkers.

Hope you’ve are having/have had a good Monday (as opposed to a Blue Monday – New Order – 1983 and 1988 😉 … thanks so much for popping in.  A la prochaine … Anita

See how fun it is?! It’s addictive! I catch myselft coming up with new ones all the time! Thank you so much for taking the time to participate in my OLW challenge this week! I love the grey and the soft cool colours on your card, Anita!

Stunning! This is a whole lot of fine, fine stamping! Fading from one color to the other looks beautiful. Perfect execution of soft, elegant simplicity! PS … just want to confirm that you received my rather lengthy e-mail reply…

This is so elegant, Anita. I love the delicate shading. (You could have gone for Lionel Richie “Hello”. There’s no end to it. Ardyth may have something to answer to here.)
