The Cue Card this week with CASology is ‘Orange’ … so here’s an orange tree in an orange circle! Well, it might look like a circle, but actually it’s something else … let me explain. Wednesday was forecast to be a glorious day, so with high expectations, we took a day off from renovating and went to the coast. It didn’t disappoint … warm sunshine, a gentle breeze and softly lapping water … just the place for getting some inspiration for the challenge. So during the day, I hunted around for something orange to act as a spark … harumph … there was nothing … every other colour under the sun, including a very pink yacht (yes really!), but no orange. Then, as the afternoon was turning into evening and we were meandering through the marina, I finally spotted a flash of orange … life savers … ha, at last I had something to inspire me! So, that was where I started for today’s card … with a very fine life saver.
I also found some long forgotten orange dimensional liquidy stuff (a bit like liquid pearls but not) that expands when heated, and after playing with it for a while, I found I could make ‘oranges’. So I stamped and embossed a tree and the sentiment, applied the liquid dots and heated them till they became orange-like, and then added the last touch … my long hunted for life saver!
Here’s what I used: Cardstock: American Crafts, Docrafts, Stamps: Imaginisce (image), Megan Elizabeth (sentiment), Ink: Versamark, Embossing Powder: Crafter’s Companion, Dimensional Liquidy Stuff: De Fil En Image, Tools: Cricut, Accent Essentials Cartridge, Heat Gun.
Time for some life saving sleep … thanks so much for dropping in … Anita 🙂
