CAS-ual Fridays – CFC 78 – So Torn

There are exciting things going on at Cas-ual Fridays, where Michelle’s doing another sneak peak … this time at her new holiday stamp sets for November … check out Cas-ual Fridays Stamps for a chance to win a set a day for the next four days!

When I first saw the challenge this week was ‘So Torn’ it was a case of so arghh for me (as rather a neat freak) … I thought it’d be a bit like having a wardrobe floordrobe (you know the sort of thing … clothes allowed to rest where they fall … unfolded, unhung, untidy!).  I don’t think I’ve ever done anything torn on a card … so a steep acceptance curve then!  However, I was somewhat reassured after I had a browse around the examples done by the DT … they were so elegant, CAS and inspiring … thanks DT!

Even so, I didn’t find it easy to create a card anything like as wonderful, so instead I did something fun … remember the gingerbread man in Shrek?  Hope so … he was my inspiration … and I only had to tear a little bit of him!  OK, it’s a Get Well card, and he’s smiling … but isn’t laughter good for recovery?  I used die cuts, coloured them and added the candy cane (after all he needs some kind of support :)) … the sentiment was done on the computer.

Supplies:  Cardstock: Crafter’s Companion,  Colours: Promarkers,  Tools: Cricut, Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge.

That’s it for now, I’ll be back in a short while with a LIM card … thanks for visiting …Anita 🙂

Your “torn” is soooooo perfectly cute! Love the inspiration story (Shrek). You got an idea and ran with it (although perhaps with a bit of a limp). The stitched border keeps this card clean, simple and fun! Perfect card to wish someone a speedy recovery 🙂
