Unscripted Sketches 184

This week I discovered a sketch challenge via the monumentally talented Geri at Manitoba Stamper (a DT member), called Unscripted Sketches.  I really liked the idea of playing along because it’s different from CAS (which I love a whole lot as I’m a smidgy bit of a minimalist so it suits!) and it gets my creative brain sparking in a different direction.  With the help of a few firelighters (we have a woodburner so there were some spare), I fanned the flames of inspiration with some papers I wouldn’t naturally gravitate toward … they were in the mystery box I got for Cropped Event, which started this whole blogging adventure.  Not that they’re not very jolly, they are indeed, it’s just that they’re not a style I’d naturally choose.  However, sometimes it’s a ‘good thing’ to be inside the uncomfort zone just for the fun of it … so that’s where I went!

The cardstock, border and image are all from the same card range, I just matted the image, added the ribbon and finished with a little glitter on the Christmas tree baubles … a quick make, if not a quick think beforehand!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  Authentique, American Crafts, Docrafts,  Ribbon/Glitter: Stash

Just time to upload before sleep overtakes me … thanks so much for dropping in and especially so if you’ve found time to make a comment, reading them makes my day!  Anita 🙂

Hey nice lady, thanks so much for the shout out for Unscripted Sketches and my blog (blush, blush). You made my day! Great job venturing out of your comfort zone! You challenged and you beautifully conquered. The Raspberry Fizz color is stunning! Love the sparkly tree bling too. Sketches definitely force us to create in a style that may not be our norm….and give us an opportunity to use up some of those patterned papers that wouldn’t be used otherwise! Thanks for getting crafty with us this week at Unscripted Sketches 🙂
