CASology #23 (Gift)

CASology23 & PDC161

I’ve a couple of cards to share with you this evening … both of which fit CASology‘s cue card for the week, which is Gift.  The second one is in the next post, which will follow shortly.  This is my main Christmas card design this year (I’ve made rather a lot of them!) … I love the image because it portrays what it is we really celebrate at this time of year and it fits the cue card (the Greatest Gift of all).  I’ve used it before with watercolours, chalks, promarkers, embossing powder, paper piecing etc etc, but one of the joys of this stamp is that it can also be kept utterly simple and that’s what I wanted … a simple Christmas message.

So, I stamped black on white, ink edged the panel and popped it up on foam pads.  The only additions are stickles (around the halo and star), and a gem for the star centre.  This is a more detailed picture, where you can see a bit more of what I was trying to achieve (although my photography skills leave a little to be desired!).

CASology22 & PDC161 Detail

Recipe:  Cardstock: Crafter’s Companion,  Stamp: Penny Black,  Ink: Hobbycraft,  Accessories:  Stickles, Papermania gem.

I’ll post the next card once I get this one linked, so I’ll be back shortly!  Thanks so much for your visit … Anita 🙂

I love images like this – so versatile that they can be used in many many ways, but I love your simple treatment of it, to emphasize the simple message. Thanks so much for sharing your gift with us again this week at CASology!

Beautiful! This image is perfect for a CAS card! A bit of bling and dimensionals and a wonderful card is born. The wee gem at the centre of the star is subtle enough not to compete with the image. Love this card 🙂

So lovely and CAS. The framing draws your eye right into the central message, which is just perfect. And you’re absolutely right, this is exactly what Christmas is all about! Bev
