Less is More #99-100, Casual Fridays #83/10 Minute Craft Dash #9 (Holiday), Play Date Café #162 (Mint, Lavender, Teal, Gold)

It seems such a long time since I did my last post (it is, it’s a week!) … I do hope you’ve been blessed with a Christmas full of joy, including lots of fun and laughter and perhaps just a moment or two of repose (not too likely?!).  Anyone eaten and drank too much?  Have the past few days been a delectable round of yummyness and deliciousness?  Is your body beginning to say STOP?  Mmmm?  Well mine is … and here’s an image (from Docrafts) I came across in my stash which just about sums up the state of my being …

Skinny Dip Chunky Dunk

So, nothing skinny around here at the moment (not even the fridge yet) … much more like a definite case of chunky dunk!  How about you?

Anyway, on with the challenges.  I’ve done some combining … at Less is More, the theme is ‘Drinks’ (do go have a look at the gorgeousness that is Mandi’s newly decorated shop), Casual Fridays have teamed up with Paulina’s 10 Minute Craft Dash this time to do a joint ‘Holiday’ card so I’ve counted them as one challenge, hope that’s alright (BTW have a visit to Paulina‘s wonderful blog … I’m sure you’ll be inspired!), and I used the colours from Play Date Café (Teal, Mint, Lavender, Gold), although in the photo the gold has gone a bit orange, it’s not like that IRL.

This is the first time I’ve played along with 10 Minute Craft Dash and I don’t know that I’ve ever made a card in such a tight timescale … but what a fabulous idea!  I have to admit to having been a smidgy bit sqeaky about it, wondering if I was going to be able to stay within time … so, concentrate Anita, deep breath … go!  After 9 minutes and 13 seconds of dashing, I was still using the same deep breath (and turning a rather delightful shade of blue), my heart was threatening to leave home, there was debris everywhere … and my card was done!  I could breathe again … in… out … in … out …

This is what I managed to fit into the 9 minutes and 13 seconds:  Die cut ‘Enjoy’, cut off the ‘y’ and replaced it with a martini/cocktail glass.  Coloured the horizontal stripes and the olive with alcohol markers (the effect put me in mind of a tequila sunrise I once had saw someone else drinking … albeit the colours are different).  Quickie-glue-penned it all to the card base, added a gem for the dot above the ‘j’, rubbed on a 2013 inside the ‘o’, tied some twine around the top and rounded just one corner.  Phew … I’m breathless just writing about it!  It’s not perfect … the colouring’s a bit unlined-up, the 2013 is a tad low and the glass could probably do with a swizzle stick and some glossy accents … but hey, it’s my first under-10-minute card so I’m not too unhappy!

Hope you’re having a simply splendid day … I do appreciate you coming by … thank you so much!  Till next time … Anita 🙂

Recipe:  Cardstock: Crafter’s Companion,  Die Cut: Cricut, Jubilee Cartridge,  Colours: Promarkers,  Gem: Papermania,  Rub-on: Karen Foster,  Twine: Stash.

….I’m definitely chunky dippin’ as well. Seriously, I do not want to see any more dough, cream, butter, or dill for months and months! Chocolate, okay, maybe just a bit….. Fun image/sentiment on your first card! Have never heard of Docrafts – going to check it out! Great job combining the challenges. 9 minutes and 13 seconds – wow! Well done. I love the twine, the bit of bling and the 2013 inside the glass – such creative cleverness! Will drop you an e-mail later in the evening. Feels good to be back visiting everyone!
