One Layer Wednesday #125 (Your Perfect Day)

Ardyth‘s inspiration card as host of One Layer Wednesday this week is a perfect summary of the theme ‘Your Perfect Day’ … and really got those little grey cells going.  Naturally, all the wonderful events of life came tumbling to mind … special people, special occasions, special experiences … thanks Ardyth for the journey around so many of my perfect days!

I settled on one particular day where we had friends over for a Courtyard Warming Party … it was a beautiful sunny day, we enjoyed a very long, lingering lunch outdoors and ended up with a few games of boules as twilight appeared.  OK … how to represent it?  There was my uphill struggle!  I tried everything … recycling bag full to overflowing … even went as far as just some simple stamped circles (the sun, plates from lunch, boules … getting desperate!), it just wouldn’t translate from brain to card.  So I stopped … and instead of using an event/person/experience that’d already happened, I went for a future event … here’s the card …

OLW 125

I bet you’re wondering how could a ‘Miss You’ card represent a perfect day … stay tuned … it’s coming!  The ‘miss you’ refers to the sofa, cushion, table, lamp, rug … and all those other things that go in a sitting room … that we currently don’t have … but that we will have when the renovation is eventually finished!  That will definitely be a PERFECT day!

I’m off for a trip round blogworld … hope you’re having a week full of perfect days!  Thanks so much for coming by, I really appreciate it … Anita 🙂

I seriously love your thought process! Had me speed reading to get to the bottom of the post to discover your source of inspiration for this cute card! Did you ‘doodle’ this picture? I’m thinking that you did, and wow would be the appropriate thing to say at this moment…so WOW! The font of the sentiment is absolutely perfect for the puffy, comfy chair! Love the nice warm colors, especially the pop of blue. Sweet job Anita 🙂 Thanks for such an entertaining post – I smiled all the way through it! Date: Tue, 5 Feb 2013 21:15:02 +0000 To:

Love how you shared your thought process … it’s always interesting to hear how people come to their final product! Your scene turned out beautifully. I especially like your rug! Great grounding.
