Unscripted Sketches #201, Rockin’ out the Digis #1

It’s a few weeks since I played along with Unscripted Sketches so it’s good to be back!  I’m also playing with Jackie Rockwell’s new challenge, Rockin out the Digis (thanks to Hannelie and Ardyth for the heads up!) … it’s a digital challenge and as I’m definitely digitally disadvantaged, I thought I’d try it to see how I get on.  We can use the very CAS and graphic digi-images that Jackie provides or we can use our own … if you’re into digital images, would like to be, or just fancy giving it a try, pop over to Jackie’s to check it out and play along with this fun challenge.  I love the simple flower Jackie created so I’ve used it (rather than my own … like I have them!) …

US 201, ROTD 1

I originally did this as a one layer card but messed up the sentiment, so did a bit of a rescue job and added some dimension!  The image was copied, pasted, resized and then duplicated to create the two rows of flowers.  They were coloured with promarkers (to mimic the blocks on the sketch), I scored lines top and bottom of the panels, dragged the yellow and gold colours along them to add definition and popped the panels up on foam dots.  The sentiment (which behaved itself better on this version) is from Kaisercraft.  Can’t say if digis are going to be my thing … it’s just too early to say … what I would like to say though is thanks, Jackie, for the opportunity to have a try!

Moving on, I’m delighted that Sue of suescardcraft has joined as a new friend and Frogger … welcome Sue and thank you 🙂  Many of you will know Sue already as a member of the DT at Addicted to CAS, and will know she does some amazing work … check out her blog if you’ve not been before … you’ll be so pleased you did!

I’m off on a virtual voyage around the globe … and have just realised that globe spelt backwards is e blog … makes you think (in a very brief and fleeting way) doesn’t it … or is it just me?  Thanks so much for coming by, I really appreciate your visits and comments … Anita 🙂

Great save! I really do like the added dimension that you ‘created’. Sweet idea to color the rows like you have. Yellow is always such a happy color – perfect way to say hello! Like you, I’m not sure about the digi thing….except that they rarely create the need to save something! Will drop you a line later pal!

Love how you coloured them 3 orange on each line – these are the kinds of non-symmetrical things that I never think of, that always add so much interest! Well done, my fellow technophobe! lol!

Hi Anita, love your rows of flowers! The colors look great starting with different colors in the same end -this did not work out too well in English but I hope you got my point! :)! Yellow and orange create a perfect, bright combo. Have a nice weekend!

This card just screams springtime! Your little rows of flowers are just so sweet and those colors, so perfect. Thanks for sharing the info about this new challenge too…so much fun.

Your rescue job looks Anita! I’m so happy to see you give digis a try. I like to try new things from time to time just to push myself creatively. Your orange and yellow flowers are so bright and cheery! Thanks so much for playing along in my little challenge. 🙂

You look like a digi-pro, Anita! I guess the nice thing about digis is that multiples are a lot quicker to make if you need them, right? Totally agree with Ardyth, the non-symmetrical 3 oranges are just brilliant! Such interest right there. Well done!

Too fun! Love how you used color as part of the sketch detail. Very clever! Plus the card is super cute! Thanks for playing along with us at Unscripted Sketches 🙂

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it!
