CAS(E) this Sketch #20, CAS-ual Fridays #95 (No Stamps)

This is the first time I’ve had chance to play along with CAS(E) this Sketch for a few weeks …  also I missed last week’s CAS-ual Fridays challenge, so it’s good to be able to share a card for both.  The CTS sketch is by Jackie (fabulous as ever!) and the fun theme at CFC is ‘No Stamps’ …here’s what I made yesterday …

CTS 20, CFC 95

The die cuts are from Fancy Pants Designs (remains of the package from Cropped Event), popped up on dimensionals of different depths and with one leaf peeking out over the card edge.  The pot (the base of a tree trunk that’s just too big to use on a card) acts as the ‘pocket’.  The sentiment is a rub-on from Pebbles that I’ve had for a while … seems the style goes with the simple flowers.  I did faux piercing round the edge of the image panel with a black fine liner and added a border to the card base with a Promarker.  Oh, and I made a conscious effort to apply the rule of thirds I’ve heard so much about … don’t know if it made a difference but it seems to have worked out alright!

Looking forward to a browse around all the other entries later, to see everyone’s inspiring creations.  Hope you’re having a Happy Monday … thanks so much for coming by, I really appreciate your visits and comments!  Anita 🙂

Hi Anita. This card is just so nice. I know I would say that because it has flowers on it, but it really works. The simple font is perfect with it too. You wouldn’t get me entering something with no stamping on it though!!!!!!

Your ‘rule of thirds’ rocked this design sketch! Seriously, perfectly balanced…again! I haven’t seen any of your cards that are not well laid out – me thinks you have a natural eye for composition!

The rich earthy colors are soothing to look at and really ground your image….although with an upside down tree trunk (so clever) anchoring the image, these flowers aren’t going anywhere!

Really cute use of the flowers – it’s fun that something as simple as a leaf over the edge gives a card that little extra punch – it looks great! Thanks for joining us at CAS(E) this Sketch!

It certainly did work out just fine… I love the upturned trunk as a flower pot and the stylised flowers, great way to use the sketch :0)
