Unscripted Sketches #203, Addicted to CAS #9 (Spring)

Tonight I’m playing along with Unscripted Sketches (where I’ve not played for ages) and with Addicted to CAS, where the amazing Harriet is the host and has chosen the theme ‘Spring’.  What a lovely idea, especially as it seems we’ve waited/continue to wait (depending on where you are) a long time for winter to pass this year.

We always know spring has well and truly arrived here when the small tree we have in the courtyard is festoned in creamy white blossom … and this week it’s at last begun to bud (about four weeks later than usual).  It’ll be another week or so before it’s in full flower, but I used it as inspiration for my card anyway … here’s a picture of it a few years ago, in all it’s spring glory (even after it’d had a pretty severe haircut!) …

I focused on the green and white, which always seems fresh and spring like, and made this …

US 203, ATCAS 9

US_Sketch203

The image is from Penny Black, stamped and embossed in white, framed and with the leaves coloured in white.  The sentiment (p’raps I could’ve used ‘frond’ instead of ‘friend’!) is a Paper Smooches one and the gems match the green IRL (they look a bit muddy here).   Think I must have a thing in my head at the moment for having elements peeking out over the edge … this is the second time this week!

Time for bed for now … I’ll be having a sightseeing tour around blogland tomorrow to see what everyone else has been inspired to create.  Hope your week is turning out to be a happy one … thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are a joy!  Anita 🙂

Hi Anita. Your green and white card is so fresh and crisp … and definitely reminds me that spring is here ! (at least in Vancouver). 🙂 Love the way the leaves go out side the frame …. and also love your placement of bling. Thanks for joining us at Addicted to CAS. Loll xx

LOVE the promise of green (please come soon!) with the crisp white – and so clever to have that one edge sticking out!

I’m definitely in the “continue to wait” category! Love the crispness of that bright spring green against the white, and how you’ve got the leaves poking through the frame.

Beautiful card Anita! I love the little sprig poking out from behind your frame. Awesome design! We’re still waiting for spring here in Ottawa. Bah humbug! Here’s hoping it comes soon for all of us! *Ü*

There is nothing prettier than a tree in bloom for inspiration…and no snow! I’m lovin’ your new trend with living on the edge…of a card that is! Perfectly stamped, perfectly balanced and perfectly beautiful white space!

Gorgeous! Love your leaves tucked inside and outside of the polaroid frame. And still so much sweet white space. You’ve got a truly beautiful card here. Love this.

Your spring card does complete justice to your inspiration photo of Spring – a beautiful, fresh and bright image! Thanks for visiting my blog, Anita – although my card looks like spring, here in Australia we are in Autumn, and the dry parched grass is just beginning to green up again after some much needed rain. Northern Hemisphere have experienced record cold winters, and here in Melbourne we have had record hot autumn! Go figure!

Lovely card Anita and that green is so bright and vivid, really makes it feel like spring should be here any day. I love what you did with the leaves under your polaroid frame, so clever.
