PTI Make It Monday #140 (Ink Pad Designs), SSS Monday 11/11 (Got Ink), SSS Wednesday 13/11 (Thanks/Thanksgiving)

I’ve not played along with Papertrey’s Make It Monday before … mostly because I could never come up with what I thought was a good enough idea without going way past the deadline.  This week’s different … I got my act together and am joining in with the Ink Pad Design challenge.  I’m also linking this card as my last entry to SSS Monday‘s Got Ink challenge and to SSS Wednesday, where there’s a Thanks/Thanksgiving theme.

I tried the first technique that Ashley showed in her video … swiping ink direct from pads.  My card is a coated one, and as the ink dried, the colours merged where they met … there are three colours here but it looks like five (to my eyes anyway!).   After I’d swiped the base, I used a narrow panel of inked card, and stamped and embossed the sentiment in white,  before mounting it on a white panel and adhering that to the base.  The finishing touch was the scattering of gems in similar colours to the inks.

I might just make it back later with a little something … in the meantime, thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

This is so beautiful! The colors are so soothing – reminds me of the Caribbean!

Incredible work dear friend for a first attempt at ‘swiping’….the only thing I swipe are the crispy french fries from Danny’s plate! And you’re right – it does look like 5 colors! The embossed image is so perfectly clean. Pretty bits of bling and SWEET idea to use the same ‘swiped’ paper for the card base!

I didn’t see this Make it Monday so not sure how you did this Anita, but the effect is fabulous. The vibrant colours look great and obviously the CAS design is a winner for me. Hopefully when I come home from hospital, I will get crafting in a week or so x

WOW! Your swiping has resulted in a most swoon-inducing card, and the fact this was a ‘first time’ makes it all the more impressive! Gorgeous! Your colours remind me of childhood trips to my grandparents’ home in small town Alberta, where we’d see – and hear – the Northern Lights glowing in the sky with their most spectacular dances of lights. Sighhh…wonderful memories! Once again, your card ‘touches’ those special spots! LOVE this!
