CASology is one of my favorite challenges, and the one I’ve played in more than any other … so to have had this card named as winner in last week’s ‘Brown’ challenge was a huge and special thrill for me (thanks again Kimberley!). Can you imagine then, how exciting it was to be asked to be Guest Designer for this week … and to have the honour of appearing on the same page as the awesome talent that is the CASology Design Team? Exactly … soooo exciting … thank you so much, Melissa, I had so much fun with this Cue Card …
Yes, I know … where’s the bell? One of the (many) reasons why I enjoy CASology so much is because each one word Cue Card allows the imagination to roam all over the place … and that’s just what mine did (really, it even got to jelly fish!). It eventually settled on orchestra chimes … also known as orchestra or tubuler bells … so my card depicts the chimes hanging from a frame, waiting to be gently struck so they can ring out their melodious peals!
I trimmed plain white card into graduated widths for the chimes and coloured them all with Promarkers. They were heat embossed with holographic EP, attached to a slender black strip, and then sliced to length all together with one fell swoop of the guillotine. I stamped the top panel with a Waltzingmouse sentiment (extending the dotted underlining to the edges of the card with a black fineliner) and added dry embossing, with the lines following the angled shape. The ‘frame’ panel was attached to the chimes via the black strip, and to give the impression that the chimes were hanging freely, I popped everything up on foam dots . Voila!
I hope you’ll be inspired to let your imagination wander through all things ‘Bell’ … and join in the fun at CASology this week … if you haven’t already been, have a meander over there to check out what amazing delights the Design Team has to get your creative juices flowing!
Thanks so much for coming by … as ever, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
