Less is More #147 (Christmas Bird), Waltzingmouse Fanatics #6 (Non-Christmas-Image Christmas), SSSW 27/11 (Anything Goes), SSSM 25/11 (Countdown to the Holidays)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends who are celebrating today … wishing you a very special day surrounded by those you love and care for!  Actually, I wish that for those of you not celebrating too … taking time out to give thanks for our blessings is always good … so I will … for all the joy you bring me through your friendship, humour and warmth … a heartfelt thank you, I’m so blessed to be part of this wonderful community 🙂

My card today is a Christmas one … not surprisingly, it’s just about the most favorite theme of the moment, so I’ve done just a little combining.  At Waltzingmouse Fanatics, Deborah and Tara have set quite a toughie of a challenge … to create a Christmas card using non-Christmas themed images … phew!  Luckily, over at Less is More, Chrissie and Jen came to the inspiration rescue as they’re asking for a Christmas card including a bird … mmm … seems to me that could be a non-Christmas image.  Lastly, at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday, there’s an Anything Goes week, so I’m linking up there too.

ETA:  Simon Says Stamp Monday’s theme this week is Countdown to the Holidays … a countdown of any kind to Christmas (including how many cards still to make!) … so I’m playing along there too.

On an aqua pearl card panel, I stamped the image, embossed it in white and then re-stamped and clear glitter embossed it … I wanted to create the impression of a frost laden tree.  The birds were stamped, trimmed out, coated with Glossy Accents and once dry, they flew off to perch in the tree.  I stamped and white embossed the sentiment and then frosted glittered the strip along the bottom.  The gems were the final touch, before the panel was mounted on a white base.

I’m looking forward to a wander round later on to see what everyone else has been inspired to create.  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments really are a delight!  Anita 🙂

You totally captured the ‘frosty morning’ look with the glitter! The trees around here look exactly like that when their branches are covered in a heavy coat ice! The perfectly fussy cut red birds (all glossed up spiffy as ever) and the red bits of bling really pop on this gorgeous shade of aqua!

    Yep….you’ve done it again…winner, winner 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’ll echo Geri’s description of the trees glittery and sparkly with their wintry coats of frozen ice,and sprinkles of snow. How beautifully you’ve captured that image on your card. The blue background, the wee red birds…just a lovely, peaceful Christmas scene! Yes, we are so fortunate to be nestled in the warmth of this crafting community! Thank you, Anita, for all your wonderfully warm, encouraging and thoughtful comments! You = treasure!!

Adding the birds to the willow was inspired! Sorry we set a tough challenge but so glad you joined in – I love the glittered floor and the red birds really pop off the lovely blue base.
Thanks for joining the Waltzingmouse Fanatics again – I promise tomorrow’s is easier 😉

I actually commented on this card a few days ago but it seems the comment has disappeared. I loved this beauty the non trad colors and the cute pop of red birdies truly inspirational Anita.

I adore this card! The image is simple, yet so stunning and the color palette you used is traditional and modern at the same time. I really liked how you made the ground “glittery” like freshly fallen snow. You have a great eye for art because this card is just the right bit of sophistication and bling! Thank you so much for sharing this lovely piece with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!
