Make It Monday #145 (A La Carte)

This week’s Make It Monday theme is ‘A La Carte’ … meaning we get to choose a technique from any of the forty seven video’s this year.  As I’ve only joined in with two so far, I had fun reviewing all the mouthwatering ideas … and finally settled on Week #120 … Overlapping Ombré.

MIM 145

I used one of Papertrey’s Sketched Shapes banners to create my ombré banner, stamping each colour twice … dandelion to canteloupe to tangelo … and then overstamped it with the chevrons (extended a little) and sentiment from the same set.  The banner was trimmed out, mounted on black and adhered to a linen textured card base.  It was tempting to add something, but as I couldn’t find the ‘something’ it needed, restraint prevailed and I left it unadorned!

I do hope you enjoyed a truly blessed Christmas, full of joy and wonder … and are happily preparing to welcome 2014 in just a few days … exciting isn’t it?  I’m hoping to fit in a card or two before the year end, so should be back soon.  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a delight!  Anita 🙂

Fabulously clean and simple! So glad to see that you ‘stepped away from the card’ at precisely the right moment! Honestly, anything more would have interfered with the impact that the colors alone have achieved! Love the black border – really makes the colors pop!

Hope your holiday celebrations were full of fun! We had a marvelous time! The house is soooooo quiet now! Looking forward to some crafting time within the next day or two!

I’m with Geri – your card is perfect and stunning, as is! You’ve worked magic with the ombre banner and the white space (which continues to mess with me when it comes to my own cards). Simple, striking, eye-catching! So glad I visited, as we’re just home from our most fabulous Christmas visit with my family (I LOVE being Aunty C!!!), and I’m feeling sad. You, however, have brightened my spirits with this cheery card! THANK YOU!! Hugs~c

Have you really only done two of these? Wow–you picked a good one, because this card is a real stunner. Great job finding all those inks to work together, and I love how you did the sentiment.
