TAWS Birthday Party, Colour Q #223 (Basic Grey, Bravo Burgundy, Poppy Parade, Summer Starfruit + White), CASology #77 (Bubbly)

I’m just about making it to The Alley Way Stamps‘ third birthday party … didn’t realise it wasn’t a late night soirée, otherwise I’d wouldn’t have pootled around quite as much as I did before getting here.  TAWS is sharing the limelight with Colour Q this week … the palette is a great one (and it’s a gorgeous inspiration photo), but it isn’t a natural colour choice for me at all, which is why I’m playing along … stretching a horizon or two.

ETA:  Thanks to a suggestion from Ardyth, I’m also adding this as a second entry to CASology‘s Bubbly challenge … now why didn’t I think of that?!  Thanks, my friend!TAWS Bday, CQ 223

The dotty image is a TAWs border one, stamped numerous times to create the front panel.  I coloured the dots randomly with Promarkers and in some of the ones left blank, I added copious layers of Wink of Stella, covered with Glossy Accents, to give a bit of sheen and shine.  That made me more comfortable with the palette … it’s so not my usual one that I don’t even possess any burgundy … at all … not a drop, swoosh, snip or morsel.  So the burgundy dots were mixed on the card … powder blue first followed by cardinal red … looks about right from here.  I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment on the card base, edged the top of the dotty panel with a black strip, and popped up the panel on foam dots.   Could this be a guy card, even with the shimmer?

Need to go and get linked up before the door finally closes at TAWS … be back shortly with a little something else.  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a delight!  Anita 🙂

Yes, this card qualifies in the guy category…and gal as well! How often does one get so lucky as to craft a dual purpose project? The colors really are fabulous! Blue & red = burgandy…creatively clever resourcefulness – love it! I am so admiring your perfectly stamped images once again. I have this set and have not had any success with getting things straight! You’ve inspired me to give it another try! Loving the trendy angle look. It seems to really draw attention to the sentiment! Another card destined for greatness dear friend!

Great card Anita – love the colouring and glossy accents over the Wink of Stella. Definitely a super male card. Fab colourway as well.

Wow – a ‘made for anyone and everyone’ card that is simply stunning! Aren’t you brilliant for creating burgundy a la the style of Anita and the glitter in some of the spots – perfect special touch. Graphic, trendy, fabulous….

Fabulous card, Anita. I love the tilt and your randomly colored spots and dots. Great job with the color pallet, too. I waffled all week stumped for a design, and now I’ve nothing to do but wait for the new colors tomorrow.
