Watercolouring seems to be one of the hottest trends at the moment … here’s my most recent take on it …
I’m playing along with Papertrey’s Make It Monday, where we’re following Dawn’s hints and tips for creating watercolour backgrounds with heat embossed sentiments. I’m also joining in with a shiny new challenge, hosted by Virginia at Yes, Virginia … a monthly challenge that follows in the footsteps of Cath’s Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World. Virginia explains it much better … do pop over and check it out … and if you’ve not visited before, get ready to have your breath taken away as you meander around … and you may need supplies of food and drink to keep you going for some time!
I stamped and clear embossed the Papertrey sentiment, pressed ink pads onto a non stick mat, sprayed a piece of watercolour card with water and started painting, picking up the colours and allowing them to blend one into the other. When all the colour was on, I water sprayed the panel again and dried it with a heat gun so the different shades would merge more … there are nine of them! The sentiment was a bit lost in the lighter colours, so I edged it with a light grey Promarker so it would pop a little. The panel was trimmed, and I masked and sponged a black border before adhering it to the card base. Have to say, with this card I’m missing all the lovely white space I usually have … to my eyes it seems a bit full!
Hope your Monday’s getting off to a great start! Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
