Happy Birthday Maria, Online Card Class CAS 3 (Optical Illusion), Winnie & Walter Playdate #1, SSS Wednesday 19/3 (Glitter It), Winnie & Walter Join In To Win (March)

Today, we’re celebrating a rather special birthday with Maria from reislingmama, with a party organised by Shirley at shirley-bee … and I’m delighted to be partying along!  Maria’s an amazingly talented and published card maker, who always adds that certain unexpected something to her cards that make you go ‘wow’ … just go over and see!  I love to read her comments, both here and across blogland … apart from encouraging and supportive words, there’s always something in there to have to me smiling or falling about!  Mr Linky’s over at Shirley’s blog, so do pop over and enjoy the gallery of goodness on offer … or make a card yourself and join in the fun!  So, Happy, Happy Birthday, Maria … wishing you a day full of joy and laughter and a year ahead blessed with health and happiness!

As Maria always has something unexpected about her cards, I thought I’d try it too … and have a go at creating an optical illusion by stamp layering (demonstrated by Laura on Day 3 of the Online Card Class CAS 3).  I masked off the edges of the card base, stamped the first layer of tiny dots with an Annabelle Stamps border, then used Winnie & Walter’s circles from Big Bang Confetti to create the bubbles.  The bubbles were done in outline first, then filled in with different coloured inks and liberally covered with Wink of Stella.  The HA sentiment was stamped over the top and the ‘lights’ in the ‘More’ were covered with Stickles.  You can just about see the shimmer and sparkle in the photo, but if you want to see it better, click to make it bigger, it’s more obvious!

As well as linking up to the gallery at Online Card Class CAS 3, I’m also playing along at Winnie & Walter’s first Playdate (check out the inspiration picture below … full of bubbles!), Simon Says Stamp Wednesday‘s Glitter It challenge and Winnie & Walter’s Join In To Win March party.

I have another card to post shortly, and hope to have one a little later too … depending on how many chores I get through and how the muse hits me!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!
