Less is More #170 (Three Colours/Shades), A Blog Named Hero #43 (Inspired By A Hero Artist), Keep It Simple #39 (Watercolour), Moxie Fab World (Hip on Handwriting)

After my last sunshiny card, I’m sticking with shades of yellow …

LIM 170, ABNH 43, KIS 39, MFW AprilI’m playing at Less is More where we have a colour challenge … use three colours or use three shades of one colour … I went with the latter.  At A Blog Named Hero, we’re being Inspired By A Hero Artist … I chose the awesome Jennifer McGuire and did a simplified version of these cards done with the HA Tiny Flags background stamp.   As I used water colouring, I’m joining in at Keep It Simple and because there’s a scripty part to the sentiment, I’m linking up again at Moxie Fab World’s Hip on Handwriting challenge.

I stamped and clear embossed the background onto a water colour card panel, squished some HA Butter Bar, Memento Dandelion and Squeezed Lemonade DI onto my craft mat, and did a colour wash over the flags, merging the shades from dark to light.  Whilst the panel was drying, the Papertrey sentiment was stamped (in two steps), overstamped in Versamark and clear embossed on the base card.  I split the water colour panel, popped it up on foam dots on the base above and below the sentiment, and added a scattering of sequins.

It’s about time to get dinner sorted … back later for an inspiring wander through all the galleries for these challenges!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Wow Anita, I am in love with this card! I loved when I saw Jennifer McGuire use this stamp and how she used it, but love your “ombre” look with the yellows. Then as I kept reading I read that you used water color to get this look. What?! So back to the picture I went and then I saw that you embossed your flags and was impressed all over again! I love your well placed sequins and the sentiment. Oh yes, I am so loving this card!! Hugs

You and the colour yellow are a winning combination!! The Tiny Flags stamp is my favourite and wish I could get my hands on it. Love the way you coloured it with the different yellow shades and the silver (?) on the ‘Birthday’. This card would certainly brighten someones day!

It’s just so buttery!! Aside from the wonderful technique you used, my favorite part is the half sequin that is showing in the bottom right of your card. Love that detail! You know, this card would be great for the current Fusion Challenge too!

This is a great CASE of Jennifer’s cards with the added twists. I love that you split the panel and that it’s done by watercoloring the background.

Such a burst of sunshine on my computer screen–I love it, as it is quite dark outside tonight. Fantastic inking, and perfectly placed sequins, too.

Yellow is one of my most favorite colors. My bedroom is painted yellow, and I love waking up to such a happy color. Your card is a real stunner. I know I’m in for a treat whenever your blog pops up in my sidebar. This is an extra special treat!! Like Kelly, I was smitten with the little sequin tucked half way into the bottom panel. Seriously wonderful card. You’ve got a winner here. : )

Dear friend…please, PLEASE send some of that warm sunshine our way! The snow from two days ago has just melted. However, we are in the middle of rain/ice/snow shower as I type this!

Fabulously cheerful, perfectly adorned with bits of sparkle, flawless ‘squishing’ technique and wonderfully designed to highlight the happy birthday wishes!

Yep – another sunny creation headed to the winner’s circle!

Anita that might be the kick I need, I have that stamp and was so excited to get it over a month ago–and it sits uninked! Your use of it here is gorgeous, you are making me want to play with yellow. The sequins are such a lovely addition!
