Make It Monday #169 (Vellum Overlays), CASE Study #197 (Pamelo Ho), Color Throwdown #298 (Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder), SSS Monday 23/6 (Use This More), SSS Wednesday 25/6 (Anything Goes)

Well that wasn’t too long a wait for a one handed post … here’s my second card …

MIM 169, CASE Study 197, CT 298, SSSM 23-6, SSSW 25-6I used PTI’s Sketched Shapes to make the circle grid … each circle double stamped to make the criss cross pattern … and a gap was left for the sentiment.  I stamped and heat embossed the the vellum overlay with a PTI sentiment and wrapped it round the stamped panel, adhering it to the back.  The stamped panel was mounted on vellum, which had already been edged with a Promarker, and the whole thing was popped up on foam dots on the card base.  The tiny gems were the finishing touch.

I’m joining in with these challenges …

Make It Monday – Vellum Overlays (great video from Danielle)

CASE Study – Pamelo Ho’s circles/vellum overlay card

Color Throwdown – Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder (my closest colours to them)

SSS Monday – I Ought To Use This More (Vellum)

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

Off for a short meander around the blogosphere before bed … may well see you there!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

CASology #101 (Wood), Less Is More #178 (Recycled Item), Simply Create Too #64 (Sentiment As Highlight), SSS Monday 23/6 (Use This More), SSS Wednesday 25/6 (Anything Goes), Moxie Fab World 3/7 (Wonderful Words)

This is my first card of the weekend …

CASology 101, LIM 178, SCT 64, SSSM 23-6, SSSW 25-6This and the next card took me a long time to make … Friday night I rather recklessly tried taking a hot tray out of the oven with an ungloved hand … silly really as the other hand was gloved.  Anyhow, because skin and hot metal don’t play well together, there was a bit of an ouch or two as the thankfully short battle raged.  Fortunately, hours of iced water helped a lot and the impact is less serious than it seemed it was going to be … but I am a bit one handed at the moment … hence two days to make two cards!

The panel on this one started life as a mushroom basket (well, it’s original start was as a tree, but that was before I knew it) … it’s a little thicker than chipboard and the grain is really nice, so I saved it, just in case (we all do that, don’t we?).  I tried die cutting the Mama Elephant Hello, but the wood was just too thick, although it embossed it beautifully.  The embossing was coloured with Promarkers and ‘varnished’ with Glossy Accents … I wanted to create a kind of marquetry feel.  The panel was mounted on the card base over some Promarker coloured plasterboard tape and I added a scattering of Neat & Tangled sequins.

Playing along with these challenges …

CASology – Wood

Less Is More – Use A Recycled Item (the mushroom basket!)

Simply Create Too – Your Sentiment Is The Highlight (my first time joining in)

SSS Monday – I Ought To Use This More (this fabulous wood … it was a big basket!)

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

ETA:  Moxie Fab World – Wonderful Words Challenge (word dies)

I’ll be back in a little while with my second card … it takes a long time to type one handed … well without too many mistakes that is!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

NBUS #1 (Friendship), Cure For The Monday Blues #22 (Geometric Generation), SSS Wednesday 18/6 (You Gotta Have Friends), SSS Monday 23/6 (I Ought To Use This More!)

Here’s a little card that came together over the last two evenings … yep, had a sleep break in between times!

NBUS 1, Monday Blues 22, SSSW 18-6, SSSM 23-6I started by embossing a card panel using my only NBUS EF (there are five BUS ones in my extensive collection!).  I really liked the white on white so limited additions to a touch of this and that … Wink of Stella and gems on the blooms, Tumbled Glass DI and Wink of Stella on the hearts, and some PTI stripes along the bottom to ground the image.   The sentiment’s from Annabelle Stamps (hello) and Avery Elle (my friend).    The panel’s mounted flat on the card base.  You can see some of the shimmer if you look closely … here it’s glistening it’s socks off!

I was inspired by these challenges …

Darnell’s 500+ followers NBUS Challenge (Friendship) … my third time joining in … if you haven’t played along yet there are still a couple of days left … you REALLY don’t want to miss out!  (My NBUS was the EF)

Taheerah’s Cure For The Monday Blues (Geometric Generation) … see below for the amazing inspiration picture.  This is only the second time I’ve played along … and this is challenge 22!   I focused on the two suitcases under the table for my colours and for the stripes … and kept the open, uncluttered look using the white on white embossing.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday (You Gotta Have Friends) … the sentiment.

Simon Says Stamp Monday (I Ought To use This More) … the EF … there are so many possibilities … if only I had the free time!

I’m taking a trip round the blogsphere next, so may see you there!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

AEI♥U #9 (DIY Stamped DP), The Card Concept #12 (Nautical), SSS Monday 16-6 (Anything Goes), SSS Wednesday 18-6 (You Gotta Have Friends)

Back with my second card for the day …

AEI♥U 9, TCC 12, SSSM 16-6, SSSW 19-6I made a DP panel by repeatedly stamping one of the images from Avery Elle’s Bright Days with inks from Versamagic’s Seashore set.  The panel was split and popped up on foam dots, I stamped the AE sentiments in the gap and added a little sea spray (bling!) around it.

I’m playing along with these challenges …

AEI♥U – DIY Stamped DP

The Card Concept – Nautical (Pennants and Seashore Ink Colours – Clean and Graphic)

SSS Monday – Anything Goes

SSS Wednesday – You Gotta Have Friends

ETA:  Seems my timing was out for AEI♥U, Mr Linky had closed the door … oops!

That’s it from me for the weekend … after a card making drought last week (playing catch up in a BIG way!), I’m hoping to have a few more creative evenings this coming one … if I stay on top of Feedly that is!    Wishing you all a wonderful week … thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

CASology #100 (Celebrate), SSS Monday 16/6 (Anything Goes), SSS Work It Wednesday #5 (SSS Exclusive)

Melissa and the DT at CASology are celebrating 100 challenges this week … many congratulations ladies … and thank you so much for all your hard work and incredible inspiration … here’s to the next 100!  Here’s my champagne bubbly ‘Celebrate’ card …

CASology 100, SSSM 16-6This is the second version … the first was going really well till I messed it up by fiddling with it at way beyond a reasonable time last night.  Note to self for the future … go to bed and sleep … the creative brain works much better when it’s rested!

I used Simon Says Stamp’s Falling Snow stencil to create the champagne bubbles on a white card panel (upside down … the bubbles are rising!) and coated them with Wink of Stella.  The celebrate was cut using Mama Elephant dies … each letter has four layers of yellow and one of bubbles, stacked together.  I adhered the bubble panel to the card base, the stacked letters floated their way into place and I added a strip of yellow card at the side, coated with Wink of Stella.  To give a golden glow to the the celebrate, I tapped it gently with the same sponge used for the stencilling, without adding any more ink.  IRL it’s all very sparkly and glimmery … much better than the earlier mess … which I’m far too ashamed to show you!

As well as joining in the party at CASology, I’m also playing along with Simon Says Stamp’s Monday challenge, where Anything Goes (see below for badges).

ETA:  Oops, forgot I was going to link up to SSS Work It Wednesday, where we’re playing with Simon’s Exclusives … mine’s the stencil.

I’d like to say a very warm welcome this evening to two new friends and followers … non blogging but blog wandering Kit, and Chriss from Botanical Café, who I’m sure many of you know.  If you’ve not visited Chriss before, have a meander over and absorb all the varied and amazing creativity that’s on offer!  Welcome, ladies, and thank you 🙂

I have another card ready to post later … dinner first though!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and wonderful comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

AAA Cards #6 (Sketch/Colours), NBUS #1 (Friendship), One Layer Simplicity #6 (I’ve Been Framed), Stamplorations June (Stamps and Borders), SSS Work It Wednesday #5 (SSS Exclusives)

A very quick post tonight … it’s very late (actually it’s already the morning it’s so late!) and I should be slumbering soundly!  However, I was out all day today … much, much longer than expected and so couldn’t get this done earlier … and if I leave this post till tomorrow, it’ll miss the deadline on AAA Cards, a new challenge, where my sweet and ultra talented friend, Hannelie is on the Design Team, and I really wanted to play along …

AAA Cards 6, NBUS 1, OLS 6, Stamplorations June, SSSWIW 5Our Winner Badge

These NBUS wee birds from Technique Tuesday were stamped and black embossed, I coloured them with Promarkers and added Wink of Stella for sparkle and Glossy Accents for dimension.  The sentiment was also black embossed, I doodled a frame round it with a Glaze pen and finished with a doodled Glaze pen border along the top.

I’m playing along with these challenges …

AAA Cards – Sketch and Colours (see below – I turned the sketch upside down)

NBUS -Friendship (a second entry for this fun challenge, hosted by my lovely friend, the delectable Darnell … who is celebrating 500 followers this month … have you joined in yet?)

One Layer Simplicity – I’ve Been Framed (include a border or frame)

Stamplorations – Stamps and Borders (sorry, Shery, no Stamplorations stamps yet!)

SSS Work It Wednesday – SSS Exclusives (included in the sentiment)

I’ll be back to do some visiting in the morning (still catching up from Feedly’s blip earlier in the week) … look forward to seeing you then!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Make The Day Special #3 (Sketch), Catered Crop 8/6 (Manly Men), SSS Monday 9/6 (Paint), Moxie Fab World 3/7 (Wonderful Words)

When I made my first panel-on-an-angle card last week,  with all the embossed lines and watercolouring, there was a piece of the panel left over, that I carefully cocooned so I could use it in future!  Well, the future arrived a bit quicker than I expected … here …

MTDS 3, Catered Crop 8-6, SSSM 9-6

Those who saw the earlier card will know that the stripes are an Annabelle Stamps border, stamped a few times, heat embossed in white and watercoloured.  I adhered black strips to the angled part and mounted the panel on the card base.  The hello is from Avery Elle, cut four times in white and once in black, stacked and clear embossed.  What look like trendy enamel dots are brads with their legs cut off!  This is not a colour combo I’m that comfortable with … and card puts me in mind of mens’ striped shirts … but it’s a Good Thing every so often to get a bit uncomfortable … you never know where it will lead!

I’m playing along with …

Make The Day Special – Sketch (I flipped it)

Catered Crop – Manly Man (for the first time)

Simon Says Stamp Monday – Paint (watercoloured stripes)

ETA:  Moxie Fab World – Wonderful Words Challenge (word dies)

I was also planning on joining in with The Card Concept (colours) … oops, got the timing on that one soooo wrong!

Thanks so much to everyone who took the trouble to tell me about using Versamark ink (for embossing) with dye ink, after my last post.  Being able to double ink instead of having to double stamp with a stampamajig is going to be so much easier!

As some of you will know, Feedly is offline at the moment due to a Denial Of Service Attack … I have all my follows and updates delivered by Feedly so I’m a bit lost this evening without you all.  I’m guessing some of you won’t be reading this because of it!  I’ll be round to visit as soon as I can (roughly translated as when Feedly is back up again) … in the meantime, I’ll just do some wandering … and may see you there!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂
