Time Out #10, CASology #106 (Rainbow), Less Is More #182 (Anything Goes), SSS Wednesday 23/6 (Emboss It), SSS Monday 28/7 (J Is For …)

I’m missing having some quiet time to craft at the moment, so last night I gave myself a stay-up-crafty-night (or rather morning!) and made this …

Time Out 10, CASology 106, LIM 182, SSSW 24-7, SSSM 28-7The inspiration for this card came from a Simon Says Stamp stencil that isn’t even in my hot little hands yet, but not to let that stop me, I made my own stencil and used it to sponge the rainbow of colours across the card base.  The AE sentiment was snuggled in against the colour blocks and I covered everything with a coat of Wink of Stella, before putting the stencil back in place, tapping Versamark over the colours and clear heat embossing.  They’re so shimmery and shiny IRL they look rather jewel-like … here’s a closer look …

Time Out 10, CASology 106, LIM 182, SSSW 24-7, SSSM 28-7 Close UpI’m playing along here …

Time Out – Home Sweet Home (banner colours, arrow stripes, different depth bands on teepee)

CASology – Rainbow (of colours rather than a rainbow!)

Less Is More – Anything Goes (Happy, Happy Birthday Chrissie … hope it was wonderful!)

SSS Wednesday – Emboss It (shine over the colours)

SSS Monday – J Is For … (jewel like colours!)

My lunchtime break is nearly over so I’m heading back to the stonework … need to link before I go as a couple of these challenges will be closing their doors shortly.  Back later for an inspiring meander around!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Happy Birthday, Geri! SSS Monday 21/7 (Mid Summer), SSS Wednesday 23/7 (Emboss It), SSS Work It Wednesday #6 (Anything Goes)

I made a card to celebrate the birthday of a very special and sweet friend … Geri from Manitoba Stamper!  For those of you who don’t know Geri (yet), she’s warm, fun, funny, chock full of boundless enthusiasm and has the most fantastic gift for words … if you’ve seen her comments and poems, you’ll know exactly what I mean!  Not only is she all these amazing things and more, she’s also an awesomely talented graphic card maker … go, see for yourself if you haven’t paid a visit before!  So, my dear friend, Geri, this is for you … Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday … here’s wishing you a day overflowing with love, joy and fun … and a year to come filled with all your dreams come true!

myI came across this quilt on Pinterest and loved it’s graphic shapes, bold vibrant colours and wonderful white space … and thought it’d lend itself pretty well to being translated from fabric to paper.  So that’s what I did.  The lines were dry embossed across and down a white textured panel, I cut the coloured squares by hand (dies would’ve been good!), adhered them to the panel and ran a fine outline of matching colour around each one to give the impression of the sewn edges.  I made a frame on the base card using some stamped stripes (Papertrey), adhered the panel to the base and attached the sentiment (Clearly Besotted) … it was supposed to fit without obscuring the yellow square, but it wouldn’t co-operate!

It so happens that Geri’s card fits these challenges, so I’m playing along with …

SSS Monday – Mid Summer (yummy summery colours)

SSS Wednesday – Emboss It (lines for the quilt!)

SSS Work It Wednesday – Anything Goes (second entry)

Thanks so much for all your encouraging and wonderful comments over recent days.  It’s been a particularly full week for me and I haven’t had much time at all to pop into blogland or my inbox to reciprocate, so I’m playing catch up this afternoon (ha, like that’s new!).  I may even get to a card too … if so, I’ll be back!  Thanks so much for coming by … your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

AEI♥U #11 (One Word), Moxie Fab World 3/7 (Wonderful Words), SSS Wednesday 16/7 (Spots and Dots), SSS Work It Wednesday #6 (Anything Goes), Inkspirational #61 (Splash)

It’s been so much fun having some dedicated time to play this afternoon … I only made three cards, but had a blast just creating with paper and ink!  Here’s the last of my cards for the weekend …

AEI♥U 11, MFW July 2014, SSSW 16-7, SSSWIW 6A little while ago, I was doing some watercolouring with Distress Inks and had some ink left on my mat afterwards … so inspired by Shirley (be proud, my friend!) I found some watercolour card, smooched it into the splodginess and set it aside to dry.  This is a piece of it.  I die cut two Avery Elle hello’s … one out of the panel and one in navy card.  I fixed the cut panel to the base card, fitted the navy hello into it and adhered the watercolour one over the top, slightly offset.  Two strips of navy were added top and bottom of the panel, Wink of Stella was applied to them and to the hello’s, and I scattered a little bling about.  Voila!

I’m playing along here …

AEI♥U – One Word (the die is Avery Elle)

Moxie Fab World – Wonderful Words Challenge (word dies)

SSS Wednesday – Spots and Dots (rather unruly, but spots and dots nevertheless!)

SSS Work It Wednesday – Anything Goes (first entry)

ETA:  Inkspirational – Splash (thanks to Sandie and Carol for pointing me in the right direction … my first time playing here!)

Would love to have some more time available to experiment create this coming week, but I’m pretty certain that’s not going to happen … there’s another busy one ahead.  However, I will be pottering around blogland when I can, so I’ll look forward to seeing you there … and being inspired!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

CASology #104 (Pet), Make The Day Special #4 (CASE Histories), Colour Q #250, Addicted to Stamps & More #104 (CAS) Paper Smooches 20-26/7 (Anything Goes), SSS Wednesday 16/7 (Spots and Dots)

As some of you know, I always have a lot of fun with cute bird images … I have a menagerie of them one or two of them … here’s a colourful type …

CASology 104, MTDS 4, CQ 250, ATSM 104, PS 20-7, SSSW 16-7

I have no idea how long it is since I used a piece of DP … a very, very, very long time … but this little chap merited it.  I trimmed a centimetre off one edge of a white card panel, added a strip of dotty DP in it’s place and die cut a circle in a ‘sweet spot’.  Another (bigger) circle of card was die cut, coloured with a black Promarker, clear embossed to give it shine and adhered to the card base to fit under the space.  The Papertrey sentiment was stamped to match the curve of the circle and I added the halo of lights dots with a black fine liner and clear glaze pen before popping up the panel on the card base with foam tape.  I stamped the Paper Smooches toucan (at least I think he’s a toucan), coloured him with Promarkers, added Glossy Accents for his eyes and some Wink of Stella shimmer for his beak and feathers.  I trimmed him out and popped him up on foam dots on his ‘stage’ … he looks as though he’s gazing out at his adoring fans!  Here’s a close up so you can gaze back …

He’s flying off to these challenges …

CASology – Pet (he’s not a real pet … there’s no feeding, grooming or cleaning up of doo-doo!)

Make The Day Special – CASE History (CASE a card from your first year of blogging/crafting … mine’s from February 2013 (here and below) … I used the layout and image to inspire me!)

Colour Q – Use One Spot Colour or All Five (I used all five plus the black and white)

Paper Smooches – Anything Goes (the toucan’s from PS My Peeps)

Addicted to Stamps & More – CAS (one image, white space, limited layers, quick to recreate)

SSS Wednesday – Spots and Dots (DP strip, halo of dots)

Off to link … back in a little while with the last card of the day.  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Make It Monday #172 (Rainbow Medallions), A Blog Named Hero #48 (Sheet Cake), Addicted to CAS #43 (Celebrate), Hero Arts #Summer (One Layer Card), SSS Wednesday 16/7 (Spots and Dots)

The renovation’s taken up most waking hours this week (and some that should’ve been sleeping hours!), and this afternoon was the first time for a while I’ve had chance to get near my craft desk.  So I had a happy play for a while and came up with a few cards … this is the first …

MIM172, ABNH 48, ATCAS 43, HA Summer 2014, SSSW 16-7I made a top fold base card and die cut a circle out of it.  Using one end of Papertrey’s Sketched Shapes banner, I stamped the rainbow colours around the circle, having already marked up in pencil 16 ‘spokes’ and a larger circle (thanks for the tip, Bobby!), so that the medallion would end up evenly spaced.  A circle of card was covered with adhesive and fixed to the inside of the card, and I slotted the circular sentiment panel into the space on the front.  All the pencil was rubbed out, the edges of the card were sponged with black ink (I masked it first!) and the Hero Arts sentiment  was stamped below the medallion.  As this card could work for a guy or girl, it’s left without bling for now … it may or may not be added later.  I rather like it as is … and there seems to be a touch of dimension even though it’s a flat one layer card!

I’m playing along with these challenges …

Make It Monday – Rainbow Medallions (great video from Dawn)

A Blog Named Hero – Sheet Cake (a one layer card)

Addicted to CAS  – Celebrate (Congratulations to Kylie and the team, celebrating 600+ followers!)

Hero Arts – One Layer Challenge (yep!)

SSS Wednesday – Spots and Dots (big spot sentiment panel and little dots around the edge!)

I’ll be back in a short while with the next card … there are a few challenges closing their doors shortly that I’d like to join in with, so need to get a move on!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out #9 (Fun In The Sun), Hero Arts #Summer (One Layer Card), SSS Wednesday 9/7 (Let’s Be Clear) STAMPlorations #July (Stamps and Glitter)

The weather here so far this summer hasn’t been what it usually is … we’ve had a lot more cloudy, cooler days and thunder storms … and yesterday it rained … ALL day.  So I made my own sunshine …

Time Out 9, Hero Arts Summer 2014, SSSW 9-7The sun and rays are from Avery Elle, stamped in Hero Arts and Memento inks … with the lighter yellow covered with Stickles.  I stamped the HA sentiment, coated the ‘dazzling’ in Wink of Stella and added a scattering of sequins and gems.  Here’s a close up of all the shimmer … mmm, isn’t that better …. much warmer!

A Blog Named Hero #47 (Colour It In), Keep it Simple #43 (Lots of Turquoise), SSS Monday 30/6 (W Is For White)

My third (what?) and final post for the day … a touch of graphic …

ABNH 47, KIS 43, SSSM 30-6The diagonal panel is a section of a Hero Arts die cut panel.  I cut it in white, and took all the different elements and coloured them in separately.  The panel was attached to a piece of copy paper covered with double sided tape, the coloured triangles were randomly slotted into place and the completed panel was popped up on the card base.  I finished off with a Papertrey Ink sentiment, a single gem and lots of Wink of Stella on each triangle (that you might be able to see if you click on the photo!).

This card’s destined for …

A Blog Named Hero – Colour It In (panel and triangles)

Keep It Simple – Lots of Turquoise (lots on the diagonal panel!)

SSS Monday – W Is For White

That’s it from me for the weekend … have a great week ahead.  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂
