CASology #107 (Stripe), Fusion #31/7 (The Beach House), Paper Smooches SPARKS #3/8 (Anything Goes), SSS Wednesday #6/8 (Make It Sparkle)

It’s been a bit quiet here on the old blog for a while … life’s been a bit over-full dealing with the after effects of a lightning strike on the house last Saturday.  Now, we have most services back … internet (obviously!), phone, power and hot water (blissful!) … and hope the rest (plus the replacement of our frazzled electrical goods) will be sorted quickly.  Keeping things in perspective, it is only ‘stuff’ … we’re blessed it wasn’t us that got frazzled!  Anyway, last night, after a few evenings of lovely visits round the blogosphere, I was (almost) not behind with visiting everyone, so I sat down in my craft corner, breathed a little, and made this …

CASology 107, Fusion 31-7, PSS 3-8. SSSW 6-8I die cut the Paper Smooches ‘thanks’, topped it with Stickles and added a coat of Glossy Accents (very sparkly!).  The Avery Elle brush strokes were stamped onto a white panel and the flowers and leaves (also AE) were stamped onto separate card.  I trimmed out the flowers and leaves, adhered them to the white panel on different height foam dots, and added tiny pearls to the flower centres.  The posy took a bit of arranging … which was fine because by the time I’d at last decided on a final look, the glittery thanks was dry, so I added that over the brush strokes and popped the finished white panel onto a card base with foam tape.

I’m joining in with …

CASology – Stripe (the brush strokes and have a close look at those blooms!)

Fusion – Beach House (colours from the table in the gorgeous inspiration photo … flowers, cupcakes, melons … and the shimmer from the light you can just see hanging above it.)

Paper Smooches SPARKS – Anything Goes (die cut thanks)

SSS Wednesday – Make It Sparkle (I did, with Stickles!)

ETA:  Oops, Mr Linky’s door had already closed at PSS … there’s always next time!

Hope your week’s been calmer than ours … hoping for a more peaceful one ahead!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Oh gosh Anita – that sounds awful. So glad no-one was hurt……as you say it’s only things which can be replaced. What a traumatic time for you though. Glad you’re back on line and have got hot water (😜) bet you missed that!!! Love your card. Gloriously CAS and I love the colours.

    Hugs.

Anita!! I’m so sorry to hear this… lightening! How frightening… were you home? Glad to hear you are safe and will soon be back on track. Your card is adorable – beautiful die cut – SUPER sparkly! Caught the stripe-y flowers straight away. Always, always will be a next time, my friend.

Anita thankfully you nd DH are physically fine. But how sad and scary about the damage to your home. Prayers your life gets back to normal quickly. I will quit belly- aching about the source box which supplies all power to our house has to be replaced and the gardeners have yet to finish our yard. You are right possessions are just stuff.
You did a lovely job on your card. Have a great week.

That was the same storm that had us bailing out the garage! Glad you’re getting back to normal – couldn’t contemplate days without internet and hot water (not sure which one I would miss more!). Love the stripy flowers and the sparkly thank you on those dashes of colour!

Soooooo pretty. I love storms but it is a bit scary if you get a hit. It has happened to us. Nothing compared to what you have experienced. Normally it just fries the phone socket and takes out the electric. I am always worried about the roof. So pleased you are all ok. Hope you get back to normal soon.
    Take care Anita,
    Flo xx

Hi Anita, So sorry to hear about the scary house stuff. I do hope it hasn’t ruined all your wonderful renovation work (though am very pleased to hear that no-one was hurt). Having done battle many a time with France Telecom, I can’t tell you how impressed I am at the speedy resolution of your phone/internet problems! I am sure a little crafty time has helped too. Lovely card by the way and I love the textured card you have used. All the best, Kate xxx

LIghtning strike?? OMG….way, way, way tooo close for comfort – in every sense of the word! Yikes! Great to know you’re okay, and that all services have been restored. Being without water: ick! I remember that from last year’s flood! After all the hoopla, great to see you investing in some ‘creativity therapy’ with this gorgeous card! The swooshes, the flowers, the glittery thanks: stripey, shimmery awesomeness!! Round of applause in catching up with comments…I’m still lagging behind~ Hugs~c

OMGoodness Anita, I’m so glad that you all are alright!!! It’s bad enough having to deal with all that needs to be fixed from something like this happening, but it is also good to look at the bright side of things. They are only “things”, thank goodness your house didn’t burn down with your family in it! Yes a pain, but also much to be thankful for. Now I love, love this card you have made. I am really into the brush stroke stamps and think they always look great on a CAS card. I love those sweet flowers you have and that “thanks” looks awesome. Love, love this card my friend. Good luck with getting all the electrical goods sorted out and I’m so glad that you are all safe. Hugs, Brenda
