Life’s been a bit full on recently, so there hasn’t been a great deal of opportunity to get near my craft table. However, a ‘little-by-little-as-I’m-flying-by’ approach of using (literally!) a few minutes a day has resulted in this card … started on Sunday and finished tonight!
It really did lend itself to being done a bit at a time … these were my few-minutes-at-a-time flying visit steps …
- I die cut two HA triangle backgrounds, allowed the triangles to tumble out of the first and kept the other one intact.
- Did some colouring with Promarkers … the open die cut with cool grey, the full die cut with duck egg blue (the easiest way to get all those triangles coloured quickly), and some tumbled out triangles with four other colours (taken from MFW inspiration picture).
- Trimmed the open die cut to size, adhered it to the card base and popped in all the coloured triangles … the random pattern evolved!
- Added a darker grey strip to the top of the die cut, stamped the Avery Elle sentiment and added a touch of colour to the inverted v pointing to the ‘really’.
It’s quite masculine looking at the moment … it can be made more feminine with a flying visit touch of Wink of Stella, some Glossy Accents and sequins/bling, depending on who’s going to get it. Voila … a marginal time card!

Another one of your really cool cards! You are so good at this kind of design. Fab colours, really eye catching and a sweet sentiment too. xx
My goodness that looks like a great deal of work. Love the choice of colors and it would be a terrific guy card.
Sometimes this is how we have to craft, 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there and before you know it you have a card. I know when I used to scrap when all our boys were home, I would run over to the table and do a little on a layout each time I got the wash out the washer to hang out. lol Hey we do what we gotta do. I think this is a fabulous card Anita. I love how it looks with the different colored triangles and agree it will make an excellent masculine card or with little effort could be feminine. I hope life slows down for you some and you can enjoy card making the normal way once again. Thank you too for your kinds words, your hugs and your prayers. They sure do mean so much to me. Hugs, Brenda
Now I NEED that triangle die! Great colours!
Haha! You are so funny, Anita! Love that saying ‘little-by-little-as-I’m-flying-by’ approach.
I thought you used colored cardstock for inlaid die cuts. Your little-by-little time paid off. Great card!
As the turtle says” Little by little wins the race” and you have a winner here. I love the colorful triangles. I find myself doing bit by bit lately, too, as inspiration hits me.
Anita…what an amazing card and I love that you gave us step by step instructions too. So fun and just too sweet. I also love, love the way you did your sentiment, just fabulous.
You are a fairy artist, Anita, flying in on gossamer wings to create your beautiful work of art in between doing earthly menial labor!! This is fantastic!! Hugs, Darnell
Wow you are patient, I couldn’t have done this even in short bursts. I like it the way it is, I would keep this for a guy as it is perfect for this. Some great Case cards on TO!!
Anita! You had me at “duck egg blue!” Just stunning. Makes me believe that I should take crafting a little more s l o w l y – Gorgeous, from the sentiment to the last, painstakingly beautiful triangle…

I really love this geometric card, Anita! And, I love how you created it a little at a time! Such fun colors, and the sentiment is perfect!
Cool design, Anita! Love that triangle die and the colours that you have used. I am glad that you managed to put it together a bit at a time 🙂
Life has been hectic here too, I can sympathize with you lol. Love those sweet little inlaid triangles, what a wonderful card Anita!
You always have very cool and perfected graphic and geometric cards 🙂 I love this one and love that u colored those tiney tiny triangles 🙂 thank you for sharing with ATCAS!
I like that’s it’s got a really masculine feel to it Anita – what a great way to use those die cut triangles…no wonder it took so long!
Fabulous design Anita. Love the mix of colors. Loll xx
Fabulous card Anita, love the design and the little v pointing up at the sentiment so clever. Gorgeous cool colours and beautifully CAS. Thanks so much for sharing with us at ATCAS and good luck.

What a clever technique! I loved the “random” look of the triangles and was curious as to how you did it. Very smart use of die cuts! And I think the sentiment goes along so perfectly at the top. It’s got just the right amount of energy and pattern, yet it’s still such a sophisticated and lovely card. It may have stretched over a few days to create, but the end result was worth every second it took (in my opinion). Thank you so much for the great post and for sharing your talents with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
Oh, this is just so super cute, Anita!!! Your triangles look so sweet and your choice of colours are perfect!! Love the clever way you have done the sentiment!!! Great card!!!
LOVE this! You really are the challenge-combing queen. And I really loved reading about your process with little tie bits of time here and there. I can definitely relate. 🙂
I love your colors, and the fun sentiment works perfectly with your geometric creation!
Awesomely trendy card!! And you’re right, it could easily switch from masculine to feminine in just a minute. They should sell them at the store that way, with an add-on kid to girl it up : )
A work of love – a real eye-candy!
Loving those triangles!!!! This is fantastic and really love the colour palette you chose. I love that triangle die and love how you randomly changed the colours. Very modern indeed!! So nice to be surfing the net again after being very sick for past week (and looking after the kids with the same bug for two whole weeks before that…). I told Dave that if he gets sick now, I’m leaving home!
Super fun card, Anita!
