Surprise Nonni … Happy Birthday! There’s a party going on over at Sandie’s blog, London Days, to celebrate this sweet friend’s special day. For those of you who don’t know Nonni, she’s on the Design Team with Inkspirational and with STAMPlorations, and is also the co-owner of Time Out. In addition, she’s an energetic, enthusiastic and sweet commenter … and makes the most wonderful cards across the whole range of styles … multi-talented indeed! If you get chance, do drop in for an inspiring meander around Nonni’s blog, Korttikarkuri – Runaway Cards, and also pop over to see what I know will be a fantastic Mr Linky gallery of cards over at Sandie’s London Days. Wishing you a very special day, Nonni, full of fun and laughter … and a year ahead filled with all good things! Your card is winging it’s way to you across land and sea … here’s a sneak peek …
My inspiration for the design came from this awesome rainbow card by the amazing Laura Bassen. I stamped the Avery Elle leaf in ombré colours across a panel of watercolour card, and then added a light wash of matching colour over each. The Studio Calico ‘happy’ was die cut in the ombré colours and white, and they were adhered together, marginally offset. I stamped the WPlus9 ‘birthday’ and added lashings of Wink of Stella over the leaves and the stacked die cut. The base card edges were sponged with black and the finished panel was adhered flat to it. Like a close look at the stacked ombré colours? They’re here … and you may just be able to see the merest hint of all the WoS shimmer …
As well as flying across the miles and partying along over at Sandie’s blog, Nonni’s card happens to be suitably dressed to play along with …
Addicted To CAS – Geometric (second entry)
Make The Day Special – Colour Palettes (I used the first one … colours in the ombré jar)
Simon Says Stamp Monday – Anything Goes (second entry)
ETA: Thanks to my friend Chriss, who suggested it, I’m also joining in at Paulina’s Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge Blog Hop, running from today, Friday till Monday. Lots of inspiration in the gallery already … and fun prizes on offer too!
I’ve LOTS of lovely visiting to enjoy across blogland during the next couple of days … will see you there over the weekend! Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
This is so beautiful!! I love the pop of color in your ombre effect!

Oh, Anita, this is beautiful! I love the colours you’ve chosen and the way the happy just pops out against them. Such a lovely card!
Oh what a great stamp to CASE Laura’s card with, a leaf! The texture it has adds so much too. Love the layers in your sentiment. Hope you’ve had a great summer, Anita!!
SOOO pretty! Nonni will surely love this. That subtle sparkle is delicious as are the differently colored layers of your sentiment!
Its so funny, I think that the ‘Laura card’ will be most ‘cased’ card of the moment!! I saw it on the CASE Study blog hop and cased it myself (mine was no where near as good as yours). I love your take on her card and the stamps look so amazing across the textured paper. Laura would be very proud and I’m sure that Nonni loved it too!
Love this Anita, you used the perfect stamps and the colours are fantastic! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Slowpoke me finally coming around to ‘officially’ express the oohing and ahhhing that’s been going on since first seeing your card pop up in my Feedly. Gorgeous colours, fun images and that SC happy die is going on my wish list immediately! Awesome!
Hugs~c
This is so gorgeous, and you picked the absolute perfect stamp set to use to case Laura’s card. I think I have that one, so expect to see me case you. I just love the colors you used, too.
Just love this Anita – great stamp set and the colours are fab. Thanks for joining us again at ATCAS.
