Time Out DT #19 (Embossing), Less Is More #199 (Jingle All The Way), Uniko Studio #16 (Christmas Anything Goes), SSS Wednesday (Anything Goes, Simply Create Too #75 (Snow, Snow, Snow)

Happy Thanksgiving!  To all of you celebrating today … may you be blessed with the joy and love of family and friends as you feast!  At Time Out, we’re half way through our latest challenge, where we’re focussing on embossing with an optional twist of sparkle.  I’ve gone with two types of embossing and plenty of sparkle and shine this week …

Time Out 19 DT, LIM 199, SCT 75, Uniko 16The panel started off life as white card stock, embossed at the Lake House with a Stampin’ Up EF (I think … another goodie in the collective stash … don’t know which of the BABES it belongs to).  On the debossed side, I coloured in the snowflake impressions with a silver fine liner, heat embossed the sentiment (SSS and Uniko Studio) in Hero Arts silver EP and then set to with some Distress Inks.  Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire were sponged over the panel, and I splattered and sprayed Shimmer Spritz over it to lift the colour and add some delicate sparkle … a sort of all over Wink of Stella effect.  To finish, I added a little bling to each snowflake and a few star sequins, and popped the panel up on foam dots on the card base.

There’s already a wonderful gallery filled with embossed and sparkly delights … and there are ideas galore from the DT over at the Time Out blog.  If you haven’t played along yet, why not pop over and see where your imagination might take you … you could win the chance to be a Guest Designer … and if you use the optional twist, you’ll be in with a random chance of winning a stamp set from our sponsor, Avocado Arts!

My card’s heading over to join in with …

Less Is More – Jingle All The Way

Uniko Studio – Christmas Anything Goes

Simply Create Too – Snow, Snow, Snow

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

Blue is my favorite colour, so seasonscards in blue catch my eye quickly…so did this beauty! Great how the mist gave it just a little accent! Hugs, Gerrina

You SERIOUSLY drew INSIDE the embossed indentations with a fine liner and you never fell ‘out of the lines’ once….very, VERY impressive! This task (not that I would ever attempt it) would, without a doubt, be a three spectacle event for my old eyes! Your beautifully and perfectly blended ‘night sky’ paired with the gorgeous silver snowflakes and sa-weeet sentiment is breathtaking!

This is just beautiful. I love that deep blue background, it really makes your sparkly snowflakes shine. I love seeing the creations you were inspired to start at the Lake House, when even I read that it brings back so many sweet and wonderful memories. I also wanted to thank you for playing along with at Simply Create Too!

So very beautiful! I can certainly appreciate your patience in going over the deposed areas with the silver pen…I don’t think that I could have done it :). This turned out over the top gorgeous!

Wow, Anita! This is stunning with two kinds of embossing and lots of sparkel. I am also impressed you were able to enter this in so many challenges. We had wonderful warm weather here in Ca. We all went outside to play after dinner.

OMGosh, I love how your card turned out, Anita! I’ve always wanted to color in the debossed areas of a card, and now I see it can be done…Beautifully, too! I love the contrast of the dark blue and silver…it’s really striking, and I really love how you added a bit of bling and stars! Such a stunning card!

Your card reminds me of travels, when we were kids, to my grandparents’ home, in northern Alberta; a journey that often took us into the night. At times, the sky was precisely this deep, lovely blue, and the snow that fell – light and swirly – was so like your lovely snowflakes. I love when a card evokes a memory or stirs an emotion; yours has done both! Thank you!
