Time Out DT #21 Mid-Challenge Reminder, SSS Wednesday 24/12

On this truly special day, I wish you a very Happy and Blessed Christmas!  I’m popping in with a mid-challenge card for Time Out … our theme is Inspired By Words … ‘Christmas Is Love With All The Trimmings’ … how appropriate for today!  I made this card …

Time Out DT 21 MidTime Out

On a panel of white card, I stamped the Inkadinkadoo scene and coloured the Holy Family, stable, and Bethlehem with alcohol markers.  The glow in and around the stable, and the night sky/foreground were sponged with chalks, and the star and halo around the Infant Jesus were coated with a layer of Stickles.  I masked the card base, sponged a black border and popped up the finished panel on foam dots onto it.

If you haven’t played along with us so far (you may just have been doing other things!!), we’d love you to join us (or have second helpings if you have played along!).  There’s already a gallery of fabulous cards and our awesome GD, Shirley, plus the talented DT have plenty of inspiration for you over at the Time Out blog.  Hope to see you there!

Time Out DT #21, SSS Monday 15/12, SSS Work It Wednesday #11

Our last Time Out challenge of the year starts today … we’re being ‘Inspired By Words’ … ‘Christmas Is Love With All The Trimmings’ … how perfect they are for this time of year!  Here’s my interpretation …

Time Out DT 21, SSSM 15-12, SSSWIW 11Time OutI kept it very simple … a halo of golden light (Avery Elle Bright Days) stamped directly onto the base card … a stamped, coloured and die cut Holy Family popped up against it (with the infant Jesus highlighted with Wink of Stella) … and a gold embossed message to finish off (the image and sentiment are both SSS).

I do hope you’ll get chance to have a break in your Christmas prep schedule to take some time out and play along with us … there are plenty of ideas to inspire you over at the Time Out blog … from the wonderful DT and well as from our awesomely talented GD Shirley (yes, she of Shirley Bee and of The Bees Knees stamp range fame!).  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Happy Birthday, Carol! Virginia’s View #10, SSS Wednesday 10/12, SSS Monday 15/12

Hello!  I’ve not been around in blogland too much recently (apart from Time Out DT posts that is) as I’ve been fighting a virus that’s been a bit of a challenge to shake off.  Today, though, is the birthday of one of our sweet friends and I didn’t want to miss wishing her a wonderful day … so this is for Carol (Just Me:C) … have a Very Happy Birthday, my friend … hope it’s a magical one and that the year ahead will be full of marvellous delights!  Your card is currently winging it’s way across the ocean …

Happy Birthday Carol, VV 10, SSSW 10-12, SSSM 15-12

In homage to Carol‘s fun relationship with Distress Inks, I used them for her card … smooshed some onto my craft mat, sprayed water around and used a panel of watercolour paper to pick up all the colour.  Once the panel was dry, it was Shimmer Spritzed it to give it sparkle (you can’t see it here, but it’s very shimmery IRL), I white heat embossed the Mama Elephant sentiment and then added a scattering of sequins and gems.  The base card was masked off, I sponged the black border and popped up the watercolour panel over it.  Voila!

For those of you who don’t already know Carol (if there is anyone who doesn’t!), you’ll want to … she’s fun, humourous, entertaining and fabulously talented … so do have a meander over to her blog, take your time to absorb all the deliciousness … and enjoy!

Due to my … erm … indisposition, my Feedly list has been rather neglected in recent times … and now it’s very, very, very long.  I’m looking forward to seeing all the wonderful inspiration that’s in there over the next few days … and to catching up with what everyone’s been creating!

Amid all the activity of preparations for Christmas, why not take a little breather … have some fun with a few crafty goodies and play along with us at Time Out, where we’re half way through our latest challenge.  Our theme is CASE With Your Own Twist …. and our wonderfully talented designer to CASE is Aimes at Crafting Confessions.  Here’s my mid challenge card …

Time Out DT 20 Mid, LIM 201, CASology 125, JUGs 270, Uniko Studio 16, SSSWIW 11and here’s Aimes‘ soft and delicate hearts and snowflakes card …

Let it SnowThis time, I focussed again on the snowflakes … and added my own twist by going bolder and more graphic than last week, with an inset die cut Uniko Studio snowflake.  I cut the snowflake from glitter card and from a white panel, and slotted one into the other, leaving gaps in the middle.   The Uniko Studio sentiment was embossed in Hero Arts silver EP and the panel was popped up on the card base.  Wink Of Stella was used to add sparkle in the snowflake gaps and I added a single gem to the star.  Here’s a close up so you can see the different aqua colours in the all that sparkle …

Another fortnight’s rolled round and today sees the start of another wonderful challenge at Time Out.  This time our theme is CASE With Your Own Twist … and our designer to CASE is the super talented Aimes at Crafting Confessions.  Here’s my take …

Time Out 20 DTbased on Aimes’ light, airy, snowflake and hearts card …

Let it Snow

I focussed on the blue snowflakes for my card, with my twist being the change from Aimes‘ touch of pink in the hearts, to a touch of red … it makes the Christmas sentiment pop!  I die cut a Uniko Studio snowflake in blue vellum, coated it with Wink of Stella and set it aside to dry.  The medium and small snowflakes (from Uniko Studio and Hero Arts respectively) were stamped in different blues and the sentiment (a blend of SSS and Hero Arts) was added below.  They were all shimmered up with Wink of Stella.  I attached the vellum snowflake, only adhering it in the middle to allow the delicate edges to curve up off the card.  A pearly blue mat was adhered flat to the card base and the panel was popped up onto it.  I finished by adding a clear gem to the centre of each snowflake … here’s a close up of the sparkle …

Time Out 20 DT Close UpSo, how will you CASE Aimes‘ card … and what will be your twist?  There’s inspiration galore from our fabulous Guest Designer, Milla and our wonderful Design Team over at Time Out … have a meander over and enjoy exploring!  I do hope you’ll find some time to have fun and play along … look forward to seeing you in the gallery!
