Time Out DT #23 Mid-Challenge Reminder, Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash & JITW, Uniko #17, SSS Wednesday #28 Jan

We’re already half way through our latest challenge at Time Out … and I’m popping in with another card inspired by our theme … Valentine’s Day with the optional twist of hearts.

Time Out DT 23 Mid, W&W BirthdayTime OutThis week I went bold … a Winnie & Walter heart embossed in silver and trimmed out, ombré watercoloured with Distress Inks and double coated with Wink of Stella, adorned with a little silver SSS die cut heart and blinged with a single gem … all popped up on foam dots on the card base.  The W&W ‘love’ and Clearly Besotted ‘& Hugs’  sentiments were embossed in silver and I scattered a few sequins and gems around them … voilà!  Here’s a shimmery close up …

Time Out DT 23 Mid, W&W Birthday Close UpIf you called by last week, you’ll know that we’re sponsored this fortnight by STAMPlorations, … there’ll be a random draw for a $15 voucher and in addition, if you leave a comment on Shery’s Time Out post at STAMPlorations, you could win a stencil pack in another random draw!  As well as all that, the overall winner, as voted by the DT, will be invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge … what’s not to play for?

All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with plenty of inspiration from the DT and our lovely GD, Valentyna.  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash & JITW, CASology #130, Uniko #17, Addicted to CAS #55, SSS Wednesday 21 Jan

I have a couple of cards to share this evening … here’s the first …

W&W Birthday, CASology 130, ATCAS 55, Uniko 17, SSSW 21-1I used an MFT die to cut a circle in a white card panel and used the panel as a guide to draw a pencil circle on the base card.  After adding a few pencil guidelines to the base, I stamped the Winnie & Walter heart arrows (masking the points as they were too long) so the tips met in the middle.  The pencil lines were erased, I coloured the hearts with Promarkers to match a colour wheel and added a couple of coats of Wink of Stella and some Glossy Accents.  The clear gem in the middle is there partly because it looks pretty … and partly to cover up where the arrows met where it wasn’t as pretty!  The SSS sentiment was stamped in a curve on the white panel, following the line of the die cut and I popped the panel up on the base card on foam tape.

This card’s heading to …

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash/JITW – Kelly’s In Rotation Challenge.

CASology – Friend

Addicted to CAS – World (the world of colour!)

Uniko – Love & Friendship

SSS Wednesday – Have a Heart

Another rainbow of colours for my second card …

W&W Birthday, CASology 130, Uniko 17, SSSW 21-1Using Distress Inks (my whole stash bar one!), I stamped the Winnie & Walter rectangle at random heights across the card, overlapping slightly on each one (after doing a practice run on scrap paper to make sure they would all fit!).  The W&W sentiment was stamped in Versafine and clear heat embossed … it turned out a bit dark, so I die cut a shimmery SSS heart and adhered it over the original black to add a bit of pzazz!  I like how the edges are just visible … gives it some definition.

I’m playing along with …

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash/JITW – Mayuri’s Distress Inks and Patterns Challenge

CASology – Friend (the inside sentiment is ‘… sweet friend’)

Uniko – Love & Friendship

SSS Wednesday – Have a Heart

I do hope you’ve had a great weekend … here’s it’s almost over, but there’s enough time left for me to have a meander through blogland and see what everyone’s been doing!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #23, Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash & JITW, Uniko #17, SSS Wednesday 21 Jan

Our wonderful new Time Out challenge has gone live this morning … and this fortnight our theme is ‘Valentine’s Day’ with the optional twist of hearts.  Here’s my heart laden card …

Time Out DT 23, LIM 207, W&W Birthday Time Out          Grab button for Uniko Studio Challenge

I marked a grid in pencil on the base card as a guide for my stamping, chose three shades of four colours of ink (the final one is a light turqoise, but it wouldn’t come out in the photo as it is IRL!) … and stamped away with Winnie & Walter‘s little heart-in-a-circle.  I took it really carefully … the tricky bit was holding my breath while I did all the lining up … phew!  Finished off with a sweet little W&W sentiment.

So, where will your creative imagination take you with this theme … romantic, whimsical, friendly, fun … oh, the possibilities!  As usual, our overall winner will be invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge and in addition, if you use the twist, you’ll have the random chance to win a $15 voucher from STAMPlorations, our sponsor.  In addition, if you leave a comment on Shery’s Time Out post at STAMPlorations, you could win a stencil pack in another random draw!

I do hope you’ll be able to find time to play along … all the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with plenty of inspiration from the DT and our lovely GD, Valentyna.  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m linking up with …

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash/JITW – The celebrations are still going on … this time I’m joining in with Shay’s ‘One’ Challenge … my repeat stamped heart-in-a-circle.

Muse #100, Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash, CASology #129, CAS(E) This Sketch #106, Virginia’s View #11, Uniko #17

Squeezing in with a card tonight that’s heading for some must-play-in-challenges for me … two have my lovely friend, the ultra talented and thoroughly delightful Michele from icardeveryone making her DT debut for them this week … how could I resist …

Muse 100, W&W Birthday, CASology 129, CTS 106, VV 11I cut some MFT circles out of a white card panel, stamped and heat embossed the Winnie & Walter ‘love’ in Ranger Liquid Platinum alongside them, and stamped the ‘true’ from individual letters in words in the same W&W set.  Using the panel as a template, I traced the circles onto the base card in pencil and gradient stamped the W&W heart-in-a-circle.  I erased the pencil, popped the panel up on foam dots onto the base and added a single sequin to the sentiment.

I’m playing along with …

Muse – What a celebration this week … the 100th challenge … Muse’s second birthday … congratulations Ardyth and the DT (past and present) and thank you for such an inspirational 100 weeks! … and Michele‘s DT debut (see her awesome card below).  I focussed on Michele’s glorious white space, heart shapes and (as requested), accentuated (the little sequin) the negative (die cuts)!  The sentiment is a song title (optional twist) … a duet by Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly from High Society … you can hear it here (it’s worth a listen, the lyrics are just so lovely and romantic!).

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash/JITW – Another celebration, this time W&W’s first birthday … congratulations Julie and Shay!  A second entry for Vanessa’s Gradient Challenge.

CASology – NBUS … love CASology … haven’t had chance to join in as much as I’d like in recent months, but with the wonderful Darnell’s NBUS as the cue card this week, it was the perfect excuse (even though I’ve used up my three entries over at Darnell’s, so won’t be linking there).  My NBUS is the little heart-in-a-circle stamp.

CAS(E) This SketchMichele‘s second DT debut in a week … and a super fun sketch … mine’s the rounded version of Chrissy‘s angular sketch … and I took the lead from some of the DT in being a little flexible with the sentiment placement!

Virginia’s View – Clean Slate … my third entry for the ‘lots of white space’ category … in the closing hours!

ETAUniko – Love & Friendship … thanks for the suggestion, Sandie!

Think a little visiting around blogland is in order … yum!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #22 Mid-Challenge Reminder, Virginia’s View #11

We’re half way through our joint Time Out and Uniko Studio challenge, and I’m here today with another card inspired by our Home Sweet Home photo (below) …

Time Out DT 22 MidTime OutSay Hello: Perk up your home with a friendly welcome sign. For an added boost, choose a bright, funky color. Source: Instagram user decorameThis time I was inspired by the cushions … those bright colours against the light sofa … and the graphic shapes.  The image is from Papertrey’s Ombré Builders, stamped repeatedly along the lower part of the base card … the top part was masked beforehand to guarantee a straight edge!  I cut a white ‘you’ (SSS), coloured it black (no black card!!), adhered it over the colour blocks, and stamped the ‘hello’ (WPlus9) in Versamark ink.  I coated both with a liberal dose of Wink of Stella.

If you were here last week, you’ll know that this joint Time Out/Uniko Studio challenge is a bit special as there are prizes up for grabs!

  • Just by linking up your photo-inspired card to Time Out, you’ll be in with a random chance of winning a £15 Gift Voucher from Uniko!
  • You get a second chance to win a £15 Gift Voucher by heading over to the Uniko blog and leaving a comment there!

As usual, and in addition to these goodies, the overall winner (as voted by the DT) wins the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge!  So, if you haven’t yet played along (or even if you have), we’d be delighted to see you.  There’s plenty of inspiration over at the Time Out blog … from the fabulous DT, from the super talented Chrissie from Simply One Of A Kind (our GD), and from the wonderful Uniko DT.  Hope to see you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

Virginia’s View – Clean Slate (one layer and lots of white space)

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

NBUS #3, Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash/JITW, Simply Create Too #76, SSS Monday 5/1, SSS Wednesday 7/1

I’ve been waiting for some cards to be received before I posted them here … now they’re in the hands of the people they were sent to, I can show you without spoiling any surprises!  I don’t often do a multiple card post, so please bear with me as I figure out how to do it without being too repetitive!  There are three cards … these first two will be heading for the same linkies …

NBUS 3, W&W Birthday, SSSM 5-1, SSSW 7-1 On a white panel, I stamped the ‘fireworks’ in Delicata Gold, Brilliance Platinum and Brilliance Silver (they’re NBUS flower centres from Papertrey‘s Friendly Flowers).  The sentiment’s from Winnie & Walter (Big, Bold, Happy), stamped in Versamark and embossed with Liquid Platinum EP.  The top and bottom strips are also embossed with Liquid Platinum.  I attached the panel and strips to the card base and added a scattering of sequins.

W&W Birthday, NBUS 3, SSSM 5-1, SSSW 7-1Another white panel, this time masked, stamped and silver embossed with Winnie & Walter‘s Big Bang Confetti stars, then sponged with Distress Inks to create a gradient.  I cut the Avery Elle happy (NBUS) out of the panel, and another five times out of white cardstock, and stacked them up, finishing with the sponged/stamped layer.   The ‘New Year’ is Lawn Fawn‘s Milo’s ABCs (NBUS), stamped and embossed in silver.  I adhered a piece of printer paper behind the die cut so the happy could he slotted into place on the panel, then the panel was popped up on foam tape on the base card.

These two are destined for …

Darnell’s NBUS – Anything Goes (isn’t the lovely Darnell amazing … not only a fabulous challenge for reaching 700+ followers, which is so wonderful in itself, but as there have been so many entries, she’s upped the prizes from five to 10 US$25 gift vouchers … how generous is that!  These are my second and third entries)

Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash – Gayatri’s CAS and Freestyle Collage challenge and Vanessa’s Gradient challenge (Congratulations on W&W’s first birthday, Julie and Shay … such fantastic and fun celebration challenges, thank you!)

Winnie & Walter Join In To Win – January (an ongoing challenge to use W&W’s fabulous goodies!)

SSS Monday – Old and New (First card – old: W&W sentiment, new: ‘fireworks’, second card – old:  W&W stars/Distress Inks, new:  die cut/sentiment)

SSS Wednesday – Something New (First card – ‘fireworks’, second card – die cut/sentiment)

Here’s my final card …

SCT 76, SSSM 5-1, SSSW 7-1I used a Papertrey Happy Phrase Play die cut, selectively Versamarked it, and did some double embossing, first with silver EP, then with gold.  I sponged the circle on the base card with Distress Inks, covered it with Wink of Stella and popped the Phrase Play up on foam tape over it.  A scattering of sequins and gems were added and I cut a little tag with MFT‘s circle stax, stamped and silver embossed the W&W sentiment, added a few stars and left it to hang free from the ‘y’ with silver thread (courtesy of my lovely friend, Bev).

I’m playing along with …

Simply Create Too – Celebrate (New Year – in this part of France the opportunity to exchange good wishes for new year runs until the end of January … by that time most people have seen or spoken with everyone they needed to!)

Winnie & Walter Join in to Win – January (that little tag)

SSS Monday – Old and New (new:  Phrase Play Happy, old:  everything else)

SSS Wednesday – Something New (Phrase Play Happy)

Phew, if you’re still here, thanks for sticking with me!  Thanks too for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #22, SSS Monday 5/1, SSS Wednesday 7/1,

It’s our first challenge of the year at Time Out … and it’s a special one … just keep reading as there’s more on that below!  Our theme this fortnight is Home Sweet Home … and we’re inspired by a rather inviting sofa and some funky wall art.  I went really obvious and lifted focussed on the wall art for my card …

Time Out DT 22Time OutHere’s the inspiration …  Say Hello: Perk up your home with a friendly welcome sign. For an added boost, choose a bright, funky color. Source: Instagram user decorameSee what I mean about what I lifted?!  As you know, I don’t use a lot of DP … but as soon as I saw the inspiration photo, I knew there was just the perfect piece for my card in my stash!  It came from BABE Geri when we were at the Lake House … thanks so much, my friend!  I sliced a piece up, making sure there were different grains and colours in the ‘wood’, and adhered it flat to the card base.  The ‘hello’ is from Mama Elephant, cut six times in white and stacked together.  I sponged the top layer with ombré reds and coated it with glossy accents, before adhering it slightly offset from the white … the outline helps the colour to stand out better against the reddish hued background.

Now, here’s the bit you’ve been waiting for … why this challenge is so special … it’s a joint one with Uniko Studio!  So, not only do you have the wonderfully talented Time Out DT and our GD (the awesome Chrissie from Simply One Of A Kind … yes, really … she of Less Is More fame!) to inspire you, there are also cards from the fabulous Uniko DT too!  Not only that, but there are prizes up for grabs … look …

  • Just by linking up your photo-inspired card to Time Out, you’ll be in with a random chance of winning a £15 Gift Voucher from Uniko!
  • You get a second chance to win a £15 Gift Voucher by heading over to the Uniko blog and leaving a comment there!

In addition to these goodies, as usual, the overall winner (as voted by the DT) wins the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge!  So, why wait … let those creative juices flow and see where your imagination takes you!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

SSS Monday – Old and New  (the DP is new, the ME hello is not!)

SSS Wednesday – Something New (Wood DP)
