NBUS #4, Less Is More #217, Uniko #19, SSS Wednesday 25/3, SSS Monday 31/3

There’s not been a lot of crafting time over the past week … so I needed to get a wriggle on to make a card before Hammy pushes the Playhouse door shut on Darnell’s latest NBUS challenge (celebrating 800+ followers!!!).  Here’s a QACAS card that practically made itself …

NBUS 4, LIM 217, Uniko 19, SSSW 25-3, SSSM 31-3… with a little help from my lovely friend, Michele (I Card Everyone), who sent me this rather splendid (NBUS to me) SSS Fresh Daisies paint chip die cut (among a host of other gorgeous goodies) … thanks again, my friend!  I cut the SSS grid border into a white card panel, mounted the daisies onto it and stamped the Papertrey sentiment in grey.  A piece of grey striped DP was adhered onto the card base under the grid and I popped the panel up over it on foam tape.  A scattering of blingy dew was the finishing touch.

I’m playing along with …

Darnell’s NBUS – Anything Goes … félicitations, mon amie … what a difference you make in blogland … so many people delighting in sharing the joys of life in and around the Playhouse!

Less Is More – Combine Any Three Previous LIM Challenges … mine are #2 (Flower or Tree), #146 (Use DP in a CAS way) and #213 (This Makes Me Happy) … CAS is my happy!

Time Out DT #27 Mid Challenge Reminder, Just Us Girls #285, Uniko #19, SSS Wednesday – 25 March

We’re mid way through our latest fabulous challenge at Time Out … our theme is Clean and Simple (yummy!) … with the optional twist of black and white with a splash of one other colour.  Here’s my card for this week …

Time Out DT 27R, JUGS 285, Uniko 19, SSSW 25-3Time OutThe Papertrey ‘hugs’ was die cut in white and I used removable Scotch tape (thanks to BABES Geri and Ardyth!) to lift out the tiny insert details.  Strips of the tape were applied to the back of the cut word, which was then sliced across the middle and each half was coloured with alcohol markers.  I masked and sponged a white card panel with black, lined up and adhered the two half hugs flat to the panel, slotted in the white inserts (easy peasy with the help of the tape!) and covered the word with lashings of Wink of Stella.  The rest of the sentiment above and below the ‘hugs’ was stamped and heat embossed.  I masked and sponged the card base top and bottom with aqua, popped the finished panel up onto it on foam tape and added a scattering of sequins and gems.

Have you played along with us yet?  How about it?  If you use the twist, you’re in with a random chance of winning a US$20 gift voucher from our sponsor, CAS-ual Fridays … and as usual, our overall winner (chosen by the DT) will be invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with a heap of inspiration from our fabulous DT and our wonderfully talented GD for this fortnight, the lovely Susanne, from Keep In Touch Cards  (go visit, you’ll see what I mean!).  I do hope you’ll find time to have some fun and join in … look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Happy Birthday, Maria! Colour Throwdown #334, Seize The Birthday 12/3, Winnie & Walter JITW – March

Original, innovative, surprising, creative, published and all round talented … that’s Maria F over at Reisling Mama, who is celebrating her birthday today!  Wishing you a Very Happy Birthday, my friend, hope it’s a special day, full of yummy goodies and and chock a block with wonderful memories!  I made you a card … which is flittering over to you there from me here …

Happy Birthday Maria, CT 334, STB 12-3, W&W JITW - March One of the reasons I admire Maria‘s awesome work is because she always embraces with enthusiasm new ideas and techniques (go over and visit if you haven’t already … you’ll be inspired!).  With that in mind, I had another go at (eek!) unstructured smooshing and scattery splattering … in a structured sort of a way!

The side panel was made up of smooshed Marmalade and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks  … that piece was the second ‘dip’  The ‘happy’ (Winnie & Walter) was cut from the first ‘dip’ where the smooshed colour was much stronger and more vibrant … and it became more so when it was liberally coated with Wink Of Stella!   I adhered the side panel, stacked the ‘happy’ two and a half times (it was already partly stacked once on the panel!) and stamped the ‘birthday’ in navy (Annabelle Stamps – sadly no longer operating).  A few sequins with gem toppings finished off.

Maria‘s card is joining in the fun at …

Colour Throwdown – Orange, Pink, Navy

Seize The Birthday – Optional Twist – Make The Sentiment The Focal Point

Winnie & Walter – Join In To Win – March

Hope you had a splendid weekend … and had chance to get some crafting time!  I spent some time meandering through blogland catching up with and being inspired by what everyone’s been creating recently.  I haven’t finished yet but hope to be all up to date with your goings on during the coming week!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Happy Birthday, Kim! Avery Elle #22, CASology #138, SSS Wednesday – 18/3, SSS Work It Wednesday – February

This card is for a wonderful friend … she’s sweet, generous, mega-creative, has me falling about at her great one liners, and is downright delightful!  I had the amazing good fortune of meeting and spending a week with her IRL at the Lake House … and what a joy that was!  So to my fellow BABE, Kim … Happy, Happy Birthday, my lovely friend … have an outstanding day … may your year be filled with love, laughter and abundant blessings!  Your card is winging it’s way to you across the pond as we speak!

Happy Birthday Kim, AE 22, CASology 138, SSSW 18-3, SSSWIW - FebUnless you’re new to the blogosphere, I’m pretty certain you’ll know Kim already … she’s ultra talented, is on numerous Design Teams and is a terrific commenter … and if you don’t know her, you’ll really want to!  So do pop over to see her, enjoy a gentle meander around all that deliciousness and leave some birthday love while you’re there!

For Kim‘s card, I stamped and die cut the Avery Elle blossom and leaves, used Promarkers to add some shading and dimension and added a touch of black Stickles to the centre.  The leaves were adhered flat to a white card panel and the bloom was popped up on foam tape.  I stamped the Papertrey (hugs) and Clearly Besotted (birthday) sentiment, coated it with Wink of Stella and added a black blingy cluster.  The card base was stamped with Papertrey stripes on two sides and I popped the finished panel up on foam tape, nestling it cosily next to the stripes .

As well as scooting across oceans and continents, Kim‘s card is also heading for …

AEI♥U  – Stripes

CASology – Blossom

Time Out DT #27, AAA Cards #35, Seize The Birthday – 12/3, SSS Work It Wednesday – February

We have a delicious theme challenge for you at Time Out for the next two weeks … it’s Clean and Simple … and there’s an optional twist of black and white with a splash of just one colour … how  yummy!  This is what I came up with …

Time Out DT 27, AAA 35, STB 12-3, SSSWIW FebruaryTime Out

Yes, I know … a butterfly … not sure that’s ever happened before on one of my cards!  This one’s here courtesy of my sweet friend Chriss, who sent a whole kaleidoscope of them fluttering my way last month … thanks so much again, Chriss!  She (the butterfly) chose bright pink vellum for her debut ensemble … and accessorised with a touch of sparkly black Stickles … with that dramatic colour combination, how could she not be the star of the show?  I staged her on a simple white (SSS die cut) panel and paired her with a crisp black sentiment (PTI) … that way her loveliness gets chance to shine!

So, what CAS delight will you come up with this time round … and will you use the twist?  If you do, you’re in with a random chance of winning a US$20 gift voucher from our sponsor, CAS-ual Fridays … and as usual, our overall winner (as chosen by the DT) will be invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge.  There’s inspiration galore over at Time Out, from our lovely and talented Guest Designer, Susanne from Keep In Touch Cards and from our wonderful DT … why not have a meander over and enjoy exploring?  I do hope you’ll find time to have some fun and play along … look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m joining in with …

Muse #108, Hero Arts – Spring, A Blog Named Hero – 11 March, A2Z Scrapbooking – March, SSS Monday – 9 March

Hello my friends!  After a marathon weekend catch up session to enjoy and be inspired by what everyone’s been doing for the last week, I managed to squeeze in a little card making time …

Muse 108, HA Spring, ABNH 11-3, A2Z March, SSSM 9-3I used a Hero Arts stencil and a couple of Distress Inks to sponge the background onto a white card panel, which was then edged with black and adhered to the card base.  A separate panel was stamped randomly with images from Papertrey‘s Doodlie Do and one bloom was coloured with the same Distress Inks as the background … and Wink Of Stella’d.   I split and trimmed the floral panel to size, and used it as a guide to stamp the sentiment (also Doodlie Do) direct onto the stencilling.  The panel was then popped up on foam tape.  It’s a bit busier than my usual style, but I rather like it … and I’ll bet if all the white space was squashed together, it’d make up a good chunk of the card!!

I’m playing along with

Muse … rushing in at the last minute but I really wanted to play … my lovely and ultra talented friend, Michele (I Card Everyone) has made a gorgeous card to inspire us … check it out below … you’ll see what I mean!

Hero Arts Spring Challenge – Nature … I used a Hero Arts stencil rather than a stamp … hope that’s ok … if not, feel free to delete!

A Blog Named Hero – Bright and Bold … it’s a while since I joined in … think sunny yellows count!

A2Z Scrapbooking – Colour It In … again, hope it’s ok to have used a Hero Arts stencil and not a stamp … delete if it’s not!

SSS Monday – B is for … blooms on my floral panel!

Hope you got chance to enjoy some time in your crafty space this weekend!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #26 Mid Challenge Reminder, Addicted To CAS #13, Virginia’s View #13, Winnie & Walter JITW – March

We’re only half way through our first birthday celebration at Time Out … and there’s still a whole week left to join us and be in with a chance of winning some fabulous goodies!  I’m popping in with another card based on our Home Sweet Home inspiration photo …

Time Out DT 26R, ATCAS 58, VV 13, W&W JITW MarchTime Outhere’s our fabulous inspiration …

Frame Collage Funky Bright Home Decor Upcycled Vintage Frames Hollywood Regency Apartment Decor Quirky Decor

If you were here last week, you’ll notice some similarities to my first card … I picked up the colours again … and a swirly sentiment to mimic the branches … but then went with a whimsical rather than graphic look.  I stamped and white heat embossed some Winnie & Walter envelopes, sponged them with Distress Inks, stamped the ‘lining’ of the open one with some Clearly Besotted stripes … and added some tiny white sticker hearts to the closed flaps.   The envelopes were clustered together on a white card panel, with the open one ready to ‘pour’ the sentiment out … the die cut ‘sending’ is from SSS (courtesy of and thanks to my lovely friend and fellow BABE, Geri) … and the ‘hugs & kisses’ is from Winnie & Walter.  They were both heat embossed to give them a little shine.  The finished panel was popped up on foam tape on the card base … and I added a coat of Wink of Stella to shimmer up the envelopes.

You may be wondering what goodies are up for grabs for our birthday challenge … the winner, as chosen by the DT, will receive a £15 Uniko Gift Voucher and a $15 STAMPlorations Gift Voucher!  There will also be a random draw … with a celebration/birthday stencil pack from STAMPlorations going to the winner!  So how about taking a closer peek at the Home Sweet Home photo, see how you’re inspired … and then come play along with us at Time Out, we’d love to have you!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … where there’s a ton of wonderful inspiration from our fantastic DT and our fabulous Guest Designer, Mandi … see you in the gallery!

I’m linking up with …

Addicted to CAS – Distress (those DI sponged envelopes)

Virginia’s View – All Things Embossed (envelopes and sentiment)
