Winnie & Walter Guest Designer – April/May 2015 Release – Day 3

apr-may-2015--release-no.8-640I’m thrilled to be here for Day 3 of Winnie & Walter‘s April/May Release Premieres … and equally thrilled to read your wonderful comments over the last couple of days … thank you so much … they warm my heart!  Today I’m showcasing another gorgeous floral stamp set … this time with with fluid, sketchy outlines … In Bloom: Addie’s Garden.  There are also Cutaways premiering today for the previously released The Big, The Bold and Extras stamp set, plus brand new In Bloom: Maggie’s Roses … there’s a card using the latter set too, further down.

W&W April May 2015 Day 3 IBAGI tried something new with these outline tulips … and stamped them with Distress Inks, masking where needed.  With an old refilled Wink of Stella pen (there’s still a smidge of shimmer left in it), I pulled the colour from the stamped lines and added more where shading was needed.  The happy Cutaway is from Winnie & Walter’s The Big, The Bold and Happy … I cut it three times, stacked it together for a little dimension and adhered it so it hangs off the edge of the card.  The rest of the sentiment will go inside … I didn’t want to detract from those fab blooms standing tall and straight, as tulips do!

Here’s a look at In Bloom:  Maggie’s Roses …

W&W April May 2015 Day 3 IBMRThis is a vellum rose, so the light shines through it when the card is open.  I used an outline and a solid rose from this set … cut the outline into a card panel, used the space as a template to draw a pencil guide on the card base, and cut the solid rose into the base.  The card panel was trimmed along the bottom and a strip of DP was fixed to the base.  Then I made and adhered a sandwich together … card base, slip of delicately shaded vellum over the rose shaped space, top panel, outline rose back into it’s place.  The sentiment is from The Big, The Bold and Comfort … Cutaways and stamps, that premiered on Tuesday.

You’ve already been over to the Winnie & Walter blog … right?  Or that’s where you’re heading now?  The party started over there on Monday with a run down of Coming Attractions for the week (previews) and the announcement of the Big Giveaway which runs until 1 May.  There’s also a giveaway for each of the four Premiere days … so if you’d like to be in with a chance of winning some gorgeous goodies, head over there for all the the details.  You can also check out all the inspiration on display from the Design Team and the other Guest Designers!

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow for the finale … you won’t want to miss it!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #30, SSS Monday 27/4, SSS Wednesday 29/4, Seize The Birthday 23/4

It’s time for another fabulous challenge at Time Out … this fortnight we have a Home Sweet Home theme … the vibrant, colourful inspiration picture is a little further down.  Here’s my take on it …

Time Out DT 30Time Outand here’s the inspiration …

You can’t begin to imagine where my focus was, can you??  This was one of those cards that came together in a twinkle …  Papertrey Circle Scribbles, stamped in the colours of that amazing wall, and a white embossed Avery Elle sentiment on a black popped up banner … easy peasy!  Despite all that colour (can you believe there are nine colours on this card?), it’s still light and airy … and didn’t really need anything else to dress it up.  It feels a little different from my usual style too … I like it!

Where might this photo take your creative mind?  There are so many elements to play with … wallpaper, striped bedding, black furniture, wooden floor, ornaments, plant, colour … and that’s just to start with!  Why not let your ideas blossom and play along with us?   There’s inspiration galore over at Time Out, from our wonderful DT and from our super talented and lovely Guest Designer, Joyce from Cards By The Sea (you’ll want to visit Joyce if you haven’t met her already … it’s a picnic trip!).  As usual, our overall winner (as chosen by the DT) will be invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge … and it could be you!  I do hope you’ll find time to have some fun with this picture … we’d love to have you join us … look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

Winnie & Walter Guest Designer – April/May 2015 Release – Day 2

apr-may-2015--release-no.8-640Thanks so much for all your lovely thoughts and comments on yesterday’s Winnie & Walter‘s April/May Premiere … I’m still excited and honoured as we go into Day 2!  Today we’re showcasing a new floral stamp set, In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet, a wonderful selection of floral stamps (including two step), stems, leaves and vases.  There are also four more In A Word Cutaways (dies) and a new addition to the Essentials line, Audrey Cutaways.  My parcel of  Cutaways arrived yesterday afternoon … yay … and I had a moment to check them out … they’re brilliant!  I was so taken with them I stayed up and made a little something to show you!  First though, here’s a card using Lola’s Bouquet …

W&W April May 2015 Day 2 IBLBThe rose image is part of a two step stamp … but I saw it and immediately thought of using the top layers to create white roses against a fresh aqua background … and this card was born!  I randomly stamped the three sizes of rose and embossed them in white before adhering the aqua panel to the card base.  A strip of shimmery silver washi tape was added to the top, I silver embossed the sentiment (from Winnie & Walter’s The Party) and added a scattering of tiny silver sequins.  I’m thinking this card could celebrate lots of things … birthday, wedding, anniversary … any special girlie event really!

Here’s the little something I made later …

W&W April May 2015 Day 2 IAW & Audrey There’s some smooshing going on here, with Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks … and some spritzing to follow up.  Once the card panel was dry, I cut the In A Word: Hugs into the colour, cut it again three times in white and stacked them all together.  The panel was adhered to the card base, the Hugs was slotted into place and I stamped the ‘big’ (from The Big, The Bold and Friends, premiered yesterday).  The cloud of little hearts is from Essentials: Audrey … just two of 17 Cutaways in this set!  The word and the hearts were liberally coated with Wink of Stella … tricky to see on the card so here’s a close up …

W&W April May 2015 Day 2 IAW & Audrey Close Up If you haven’t already been over, do check out the Winnie & Walter blog … the party started over there on Monday with a run down of Coming Attractions for the week (previews) and the announcement of the Big Giveaway which runs till 1 May.  There’s also a giveaway for all four Premiere days … so if you’d like to be in with a chance of winning, head over there for all the details … there’ll be heaps of inspiration waiting for you from the Design Team and the other Guest Designers!

Hope you’ll come back tomorrow, when there’ll be more gorgeous new goodies to share!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita:)

Winnie & Walter Guest Designer – April/May 2015 Release – Day 1

apr-may-2015--release-no.8-640It’s been quiet on my blog of late … I’ve been working on something … and today I’m full of excitement as I can reveal all!  Actually, I’ve been full of excitement about this for a while now, since the lovely Shay and Julie asked me to be one of their Guest Designers at Winnie & Walter for the April/May Release.  Wow!  What an honour … after the proverbial feather had finished knocking me down, my little heart was all a-pitter-patter as I said oooh, yes please … I’ve been an ‘always’ fan!  Just wait till you see all the fantastic stamps and Cutaways (dies) that are premiering over the next four days … you’re going to be blown away!

We’re starting with two brilliant additions to The Big, The Bold series … The Big, The Bold and Friends … and The Big, The Bold and Comfort.  There are more of Winnie & Walter’s signature bold words in both sets (in stamp and Cutaway format) and each stamp set is chock full of a ton of little words that can be mixed and matched to create a multitude of sentiments.

I have a couple of cards for you showcasing the new stamps … here’s the first …

W&W April May 2015 Day 1 BBFOn a white card panel, I twirled various Distress Inks using mini ink blenders … I rather like the soft outlines and the way the colours blend where they overlap.  The sentiment is from The Big, The Bold and Friends and was stamped in Versafine.  The ‘smiles’ was double embossed to give it a soft outline like the sponged circles.   I added a scattering of sequins and tiny gems, adhered black card strips to the top and bottom of the base card and mounted the finished panel over the top.   I realised after it was done … those circles are a pretty good match to Winnie & Walter’s logo (see below) … funny how ideas sink into the subconscious, hmm?

Here’s my second card, using The Big, The Bold and Comfort …

W&W April May 2015 Day 1 BBCHere I used a bunch of the little words to create an encouragement/support card … they’re stamped with Versafine over an aqua and blue Distress Inks watercolour panel … and the ‘prayers’ is embossed to make it stand out a little.  The small hearts (from my stash) were covered with plenty of Wink of Stella and were topped off with Glossy Accents.  I adhered the panel flat to black card, which was in turn attached to the card base.  I’ve admired this aqua/red colour combo for some time … it’s nice to finally use it!

You might have noticed there are no Cutaways featured here … mine are on the way across the pond as we speak … so for now I’m playing with stamps!  Do check out the Winnie & Walter blog … the party started over there yesterday with a run down of Coming Attractions (previews) and the announcement of the Big Giveaway which runs till 1 May.  There’s also a giveaway today and on each of the next three following days … so if you’d like to be in with a chance of winning some awesome Winnie & Walter goodies, run on over there and check out all the details!  You can also admire and enjoy all the inspiration of offer from the Design Team and other Guest Designers while you’re there!

I’ll be back tomorrow with another showcase … and would love to see you!  In the meantime, thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out DT #29 Mid Challenge Reminder, WPlus9 Throwback Thursday #3, SSS Monday 20/4, SSS Wednesday 22/4

Our bright and colourful challenge at Time Out is still only half way through … there’s still almost a week to play along with our Inspired By Words theme … ‘You Can’t Make A Rainbow Without a Little Rain’.  You’ll be so surprised (not!) to find that my card this week is again a rainbow one …

Time Out DT 29R, WP9 3, MTDS April, SSSM 20-4Time OutI made this card at the same time as last week’s rainbow one … recognise those little diamonds inside the quilted stitched circles?  Yep, same ones … with a bit of a different look!  Here, I stamped the stitched border pattern three times down a white card panel, added the diamonds in rainbow colours and then trimmed the panel to size.  The sentiment was stamped onto a slender slice of white card, which was adhered flat to the quilted panel, and the panel was popped up on the base card.  All those yummy stamps are from WPlus9.

Have you played along with us yet?  How about letting your mind go to work on our phrase and see what creative path it takes?  You can focus on any single word or on part or all of the phrase, so there’s lots of scope!  If you need a little more inspiration, head over to Time Out … all the details are there along with plenty to enjoy from our amazing DT and our talented Guest Designer, Michele H from Crimson Owl Creations!   Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

My card’s heading to …

WPlus9 Throwback Thursday – inspired by the range of colours on all Maureen’s fabulous cards!

SSS Monday – Due Date … DT cards always have a due date!!

SSS Wednesday – Clean and Simple … there’s lots of white space around all that colour!

I’ve not been around much over the last few weeks, so am in the throes of catching up with all the inspiration in my Feedly list, as well as with everyone who has arrived in my email inbox … I’m getting there … thanks for your patience as I do!   Thanks too, for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂
