We have a wonderful theme for you this fortnight at Time Out … it’s our ‘Designer to CASE’ challenge … and we have a card from the super talented Deepti from Dee’s Art Utopia to inspire us … it’s pretty, whimsical and dramatic all at the same time (see a little further down) … here’s my take on it …
and here’s Deepti‘s inspiration …
The design elements I picked out were the flowers (randomly stamped Neat and Tangled whimsical Scandinavian Flowers) and the white embossing on a black angled panel … my twist was going with all that white space! I added a little colour to the embossed blossoms using Promarkers, adhered the panel flat to the card base, stamped the sentiment (from the same N&T set as the flowers) onto a strip of matching card and added it above the black panel.
What’s going through your creative mind when you see Deepti’s card … flowers, DP, angled panels, bold black, embossing … wherever it settles, I hope you’ll find time to play along with us! Deepti has recently illustrated her first stamps (Blooming Buds), which have been released through Stamplorations … and is going to be giving away a set to the winner of this challenge (as chosen by the DT)! In addition, and as usual, the winner will get the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge … so what’s not to love? There’s heaps of inspiration over at the Time Out blog … from our fabulous DT and from our talented Guest Designer, Maura whose Splitcoast Gallery is chock full of fabulous cards … definitely worth meandering gently through! Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!
I’m playing along with …
Neat & Tangled – CAS
Uniko Studio – Flowers
Just Us Girls – Inspiration Photo (see below … rug colours in the rug for my blooms, door colour for the sentiment strip … and all that glorious white space!)
