As promised following my Winnie & Walter Leading Lady Finale, I’m back today to announce the winner of the US$30 Gift Card that Julie and Shay generously gave me. Thank you so much to everyone who left me such lovely comments after each performance, I appreciate you all! I won’t keep you in suspense any longer … the randomly drawn lucky winner, who can now go on a Winnie & Walter spree, is Claire A … congratulations, Claire … I’ve emailed you!
While you’re here, how about a card … my first ‘just because I can’ one for a looooooong time … it was good just to play … and make this …
I was inspired here by the sketch at Little Tangles (which is a joint challenge with Leslie at The Crooked Stamper) and the colours from Colour Q. The Neat & Tangled ‘Happies’ were stamped onto white card, cut with a Papertrey circle die, edged with a black Promarker and clear embossed to add some shine. I cut a chevron border into a white panel using a little diagonal die from Papertrey, and stamped/heat embossed the ‘Birthday’ (from Technique Tuesday, thanks to my lovely friend, Darnell). The base card was covered with black card, the ‘Happies’ were popped up on foam tape over the chevrons, and the finished panel was popped up onto the black. I pondered over dots/gems … but as this will eventually be heading to a teenage boy, I thought better of it … don’t think bling would go down too well!
I’m playing along with …
Little Tangles & The Crooker Stamper – Sketch (see below)
Colour Q – my closest colours to Basic Black, Island Indigo, Hello Honey, Tangerine Tango, White
SSS Wednesday – Masculine
Simply Create Too – Masculine
Seize The Birthday – Without the ‘Animal’ Toppings
Thanks for all your warm wishes following the attack of the Heavy-Head-Cold Monster here … I’m more or less back to normal now (hahaha!), and have been enjoying lots and lots of visits across the blogosphere over the weekend … it’s been wonderful! There’s still more to see, but I’m getting there … and then it’s next stop, my bottomless email inbox! Thanks so much for your patience … and for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂
Congratulations, Claire!

One card and six challenges–amazing and fabulous design my friend!
Love the shine of the heat embossing on the fun ‘happy’ circles, Anita!!!! The chevron ties them together beautifully and the lovely clean font of the ‘birthday’ fits perfectly with the whole graphic design!!!! The small black frame is all that was needed to finish it off beautifully!!! And I agree with not adding bling for a teenage, boy!!!! Any teenage boy will love it as it is!!!!!
Have a great week!!!!

this is so very cool, anita!!
I’d say those brightly colored balls get the message across, Anita. It’s perfect for a teen boy card.
So glad your feeling much better. Took me 4 weeks to get over my flu/virus thingie and hopefully it will be the last for the rest of Winter. This is a fantastic masculine card and I think you made the right choice not adding any embellies. I must ask you, when you do clear embossing over a stamped image (to give it some shine) do you have problems with it melting in little blobs instead of all melting together over the image?? I keep trying to do it but get the same result. Maybe its the embossing powder I use. Any advice???
Very cool card Anita – love it:) xx
A card to feel happy from! Great layout and sunny colours; a real BD card! Hope you enjoy a sunny week!
