Time Out DT#34 Mid Challenge Reminder, AAA Cards #42, SSS Monday 29/6

Our Home Sweet Home challenge at Time Out is still going on … and you have almost a week to play along if you haven’t already … or if you’d like to play again!  Here’s my card …

Time Out DT 34RTime Outand here’s our inspiration …Last week I went all foreground bold … this time I’ve gone right the way through those doors to the end wall, with the soft pink and fudge yummy ice cream-y colours!  Are you wondering where the silver came from … check out those hinges on the first set of doors … all chrome and shiny!  I stencilled Memento inks through a STAMPlorations stencil onto a card panel and silver heat embossed the Mama Elephant sentiment.  The strips top and bottom were made by doing the same silver heat embossing on some scraps of card … they were sliced up and adhered flat to the card base, before the stencilled panel was popped up on fun foam over them.  I scattered a few sequins and gems and was done!

How would you like to play along with us … we’d love it if you would!  You can use any element or elements from the photo to inspire your design … colours, shapes, all that yummy white space … or any little accent as I did with the hinges.  There are heaps of ideas over at the Time Out blog if you need a bit of creative juice … from our talented Guest Designer, Sue from Foleys Friend and from our fabulous DT.  As usual, our overall winner (as chosen by the DT) will be invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge … and it could be you!  I do hope you’ll find time to have some fun with this picture … look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

AAA Cards – Paste and/or Stencil Techniques … where the my lovely friend, the super talented Shona from Twine Around is Guest Designing … how could I not play along!

SSS Monday – Summer … those soft pink and fudge ice cream colours!

It’s a few months since I welcomed my new followers and friends … and because it’s a while, there are quite a few, so I’m doing a Darnell and introducing them little by little!  To start, I’m delighted to say a warm hello to …

non blogging/non gallery card makers … Sue L, Irene G, Judith, Ella S and Taasha B … plus at the moment as I don’t have any contact details … Katie R (Katie, if you have a blog/gallery please let me know!)

and bloggers … Maureen B (Maureen Meanswell), Helen G (Living My Given Life), Barb G (Barb’s Studio Creations) and Marybeth (Marybeth’s Time For Paper)

If you haven’t explored these fabulous, fun and inspiring blogs already (or even if you have!), do pop over for a meander …  you’re in for such a treat … oh, and take plenty of supplies … you’ll be a while!  Whether you’re blogging or non blogging, ladies … you’re all very welcome, I’m honoured … thank you for joining me 🙂

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

That stencil has launched itself right onto my next STAMPlorations club order – and I have you to thank for showcasing it with such eye-catching beauty! The bold sentiment….oh my! What an innovative take on the photo, my friend!

So glad you joined in at AAA, there were so many incredible entries for that one and its inspired me to try stenciling more often. Your card is so lovely and soft and I just love that ME sentiment stamp. It looks glorious against that pastel background. Hope you’ve had a good weekend and are ready for another week. We have survived our first week of the holidays and spent a lot of time outside in the sun. The next two days are supposed to be freezing and raining, so fingers crossed we haven’t strangled each other by Thursday!!

Beautiful pastel background – fabulous sentiment – like the stark contrast and those shiny upper and lover borders!

Wow, love your take on the inspiration photo Anita! The colors are so pretty and I love that stenciling you have done. The bold sentiment is just perfect and the scattering of sequins is the perfect finish. Hugs, Brenda

Good call with the silver! Funny thing is…the silver hinges were the first thing I noticed! Stunning contrast between the softly sponged geometric design and the swirls in the sentiment! Once again, spot on perfect placement of the ‘blings’ 🙂

What a great eye for detail you have, Anita, to spot those silver hinges!!!! And I love that you got your colour inspiration from the wall right at the back!!!! You are always such a genius!!!!! Love your beautiful stencilled bg and the bold sentiment in silver is just super!!! The silver strips at the top and bottom really add to make another lovely card!!!
