Time Out DT #37, Muse #127, CASology #158, Simply Create Too #91, House of Cards – August

Hello!  We have a yummy new ‘Inspired By Words’ theme for this fortnight’s challenge at Time Out … this time round, our words are ‘ Friendship is Golden’ … how gorgeous is that!  Here’s what I was inspired to create …

Time Out DT 37On a white card panel, I stamped and gold heat embossed the Technique Tuesday sentiment and image.  The slivers of stripes were added down each side of the card base and the panel was popped up over them on fun foam.  I coloured the hearts with Promarkers, picking out colours from the stripes, coated them with clear glitter and topped off with a layer of Glossy Accents.  Voilà … in the words of the lovely Darnell … QACAS (Quick and Clean and Simple!).

How will you be inspired by our words this fortnight?  I used the whole phrase, but you can go anywhere your imagination takes you … we’d love to have you link up what you create!  There’s inspiration galore over on the Time Out blog, from our lovely and super talented (go see, you’ll understand!) Guest Designer, Cornelia from Stempel Spass (Fun Stamping) and wonderful Design Team.  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

CASology – Precious … there aren’t many things as precious as friends … golden ones!

Muse – Joan is our fabulous muse this week … my take uses a simple sentiment  as focal point, a cluster of hearts and a popped up panel … and I swapped Joan’s embossed white stripes at the sides for my coloured ones (her delicious CAS card is below).

Simply Create Too – Anything Goes

House of Cards – Metallic … a new to me challenge, discovered via Cornelia who is on the DT (among … thanks, my friend!

Hope you’re having a splendid week … thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

I love the striped panel idea and picking up the colours in heart. I agree with Nonni, I can’t seem to stamp on textured cards let alone emboss x

Mmmmmm! CAS rules! QACAS rules even more 🙂 Love the idea to just use a strip of paper on both sides and then pop up the motive. (Don’t know if I use the right terms here, I’m fairly new to this wonderful world.) What striped paper have you used? Clever to match it so perfectly with Promarkers.

I like this card Anita and it was QACAS. I especially like your thoughts on golden friendships and I am fortunate to have had a friend for 55 years (yikes that sounds old). Even though we live far from one another when we get together we are giddy like little kids – and yes this friendship is precious. Hope all is well with you, Barb

Oh this card is wonderful! The gold embossing pulls out that color from the stripes, and the colored hearts are great mimics of other colors. I love how the stripes seem prominent, yet the focal point is understated and really draws you in!

Sweet friend, our friendship is worth a bazillion times more than all the gold in the world. You are a treasured friend, and I wish we were next-door neighbors! Of course, if we were, we’d spend all our time laughing and crafting and not accomplish anything else, lol!! Your card is stunning simplicity. The beauty of the gold, and the soft colors are truly striking. This is just gorgeous. And I adore it! Though, I adore YOU more! Missing you everyday.
