Time Out DT #38, Happy Little Stampers CAS – August, AAA Cards #46, MFT Summer School #13

We have the most fabulous inspiration photo for you in our new Home Sweet Home challenge at Time Out … it’s a little further down … here’s my take on it …

Time Out DT 39, HLS CAS August, AAA 46Time Out

Here’s the gorgeous inspiration …

I masked off a white card base around the edges, used removable tape to mask some stripes and sponged Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink into the spaces (I need a stripes stencil!).  The sentiment is from Papertrey … the ‘sending’ was white embossed … the ‘hugs’ was was stacked (three layers of white card, one of red fun foam) and adhered to the stripes … and I added a scattering of SSS silver hearts (to mimic the little anchors).  Thanks to Marybeth for inspiring me to die cut fun foam … it adds great dimension … and it’s soooo touchable!!

How will these amazing glasses inspire you … stripes, circles, colours … a nautical theme … a long slender card … so many possibilities!  We’d love it if you played along with us!  There’s inspiration galore over at the Time Out blog, from our fantastic DT and from our wonderfully talented Guest Designer, Anni from Annikarten  As usual, our overall winner (as chosen by the DT) will be invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge … it could be you!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge – Masking … my stripes

AAA Cards – Maskerade … stripes again!

MFT Summer School – Design: Hard v Soft … flowing lines of the die cut sentiment against the straight stripes … and those little hearts, which on their own have soft curves and straight lines!

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!

Mmmm, bright red hugs worn over a lovely striped navy knit tee, and white capris for the base, of course! This is what the best-dressed card is wearing this weekend, boating in Nantucket, followed by brunch at the Club! (Don’t I sound like I know what I’m talking about, though?! Like I’ve ever done any of that, haha! ) I love your incredible take on the awesome inspiration photo, Anita!! Miss you! Mwah! Hugs, Darnell

Who doesn’t love the clean and tidy personality of anything nautical?

You had me at the ‘removable tape masked stripes! Then I read about the FUN FOAM diecut!!! Seriously? Darn near pushed me right over the edge! I’m always so in awe of folks that come up with these ideas! And more in awe of talented folks like you, who put those ideas to paper in a magnificent way! I can just imagine how touchable “Hugs” would be! Another ‘swell’ card Anita!

My awe joins that of the others with your crisp navy-striped, touchable red hugs card. Fun foam…I’m intrigued; another item added to my list of must try items. Striking and stunning, my friend! Now, for a request: may I case a card of yours (provided my idea even works!) for an upcoming DT task? I promise to give you full credit for the inspiration…Fingers crossed you won’t mind (and if might be one that has a butterfly on it, haha. See…Darnell’s reinvigorated an old trend and I’ve been swept along!

A brilliant & bold graphic masking adventure. Love these blue & white stripes, and the way you’ve kept those edges so crisp & clean. The dimensional and bright Hugs was just an eye-grabber, and I liked the tiny black hearts sprinkled around. A most effective take on the inspiration photo. Well done, Indeed! TFS

Fantastic job making your own stripes. Gosh, just thinking about you doing that makes my fingers tingle–I would have smudges all over the place. Love your stacked hug and those adorable heart accents.
