Hello! I’m here to share another card for our latest challenge at Time Out, which still has almost a week to run … so plenty of time to play along! We have a Home Sweet Home theme at the moment … with a gorgeous inspiration photo (below) … here’s my second take …
and here’s that gorgeous inspiration photo …
After discovering the fun of die cutting fun foam for last week’s card, I did it again! This time, my blue fun foam ‘hugs’ (from Papertrey) acts as the base for the top layer of white card, which is highlighted by those tiny red floral accents (picking up the smidge of red from the life savers). The base card was masked, I stamped an image from Papertrey‘s Ombre Builder repeatedly along it, silver embossed the sentiment underneath, and adhered the stacked word into place.
I focused on the clean look, colours and stripes in that amazing picture … you could chose any single element or a collection of them … stripes, colours, wood, twine … a nautical theme … a tall slender card … whatever you see there. I do hope you’ll find some time to have some fun with it. There are heaps of ideas over at the Time Out blog if you need a bit of creative juice … from our fantastic DT and from our wonderfully talented Guest Designer, Anni from Annikarten Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I get a pretty, country feel from this – love the little pops of red!
Well done, Anita!!! Love those stripes on your lovely linen c.s. – I forget how much I love that Hugs die with its wonderful piercings – perfect for your little peeks of red!

Beautiful take on the inspiration photo, Anita! I love the blue fun foam behind the white alphas, and how you stamped the ombre builders to create your pattern! Loving the touch of red, too!
Awesome card! I love the blue fun foam that highlights the blue stripes! Adorable…
Love this die…it’s gorgeous the way you used it. Sadly, mine hasn’t gotten any love yet…please don’t judge.
Another CAS, striking and FANTABULOUS design Anita.
Gorgeous colours and perfect for our masking challenge at AAA Cards.
Thanks so much for playing along. Sarah x
This is marvelous! I saw this ‘faux embed’ technique on a Jennifer McGuire video and you’ve done it just brilliantly with your design. I love the boldness of the white letters and the blue shadowing behind…and the intricate design stands out great. It’s just wonderful against the thin blue stripes, and the linen texture of the cardbase. Outstanding! TFS & Hugs
Great job with the fun foam, Anita! I’ve never thought to use my colors as the shadow backing, so thanks for that excellent idea!! This is another divine take on that photo inspiration! Miss you!! Mwah and hugs! Darnell
This is delightful and I have enjoyed seeing all the cards using the inspiration photo. I don’t know anything about fun foam but it looks good. I like the die and the added touch of red.
