Time Out DT #43, CAS-ual Fridays #144, Simply Create Too #97, SSS Monday 26/10, SSS Wednesday 28/10

Hello!  We have a lovely theme for you at Time Out this fortnight … it’s Christmas … with the optional twist of using pink or purple.  I went with the pink (a very vibrant one!) … and a little added gold …

Time Out DT 43Time OutI inked my craft mat with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and a little Delicata Gold ink, spritzed it with water and started smooshing a white card panel, doing a little, drying it, doing some more, drying it … and so on till I was happy with the result.  The panel was trimmed to size, a snowflake from Uniko was cut from the middle of it and the sentiment was white embossed … it’s made up with stamps from Uniko and SSS.  I adhered the die cut smooshed panel to a white card base, cut another snowflake from a spare piece of white card, coated it with Wink of Stella and pieced it and the loose smooshed pieces back into the die cut space.  Voilà!  Here’s a look at all the shimmer and shine …

Time Out DT 43 DetailThis is my first Christmas card of the year … how are you doing with yours?  How about making one including pink or purple (or any other colours if you don’t want to twist) and playing along with us at Time Out?    We have a sponsor for those who do use the twist … a random winner will be able to choose any stamp set from Uniko … and there are such yummy ones to choose from!  As usual, our overall winner, as chosen by the DT, will be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge … it could be you!  There’s lots of inspiration over at the Time Out blog, from our talented Guest Designer Suchi from Suchi’s Cardstock … from our own fabulous Design Team … and from some of the Design Team over at Uniko … what a treat!   If you comment on the Uniko blog here and on the blogs of the Uniko DT who have played along with us, you could win their stamp of the week … Label Love … oooh, yes please!  Hope to see you in the gallery!

WOW! Absolutely stunning Anita! Your BG is just awesome and I love the effect on the textured linen cardstock and the dash of gold – may have to give that a try. Great to see the Uniko snowflake and use of the sentiment stamps too. Love it! Sarah x

Such a pretty card Anita. Hadn’t thought of using the Delicata Gold ink so thanks for putting that in my mind. Will go and have a play.

Shimmery delight…love that it’s pink. For the first Christmas card, you really nailed it. You’ll have a tough time topping this one. But since you have the talent, I’ll bet each one will be a masterpiece.

You’re going to be a trendsetter with this background my friend. I can see cardmakers all over blogland CASEing this idea. As well they should; it’s utterly fantastic. Love the vibrancy of the pink you’ve chosen, pale would have been too wishy-washy. And your embossing is perfect. Fabby snowflake all dressed up in sparkle. Another wonderful card sweet friend. Miss you tons. bisous, bisous. xoxo

I love the card and it is a different style for you but it is beautiful. Swooshing is one of my favorite techniques and I love teaching it. Sorry I didn’t write sooner but I have been out of town and really don’t like typing on the I-phone. I met Darnell and that was special. 🙂

I’m enjoying ‘smooshing’ right now too, so I’m really loving this vivid pink-y tone one. Looks wonderful with the streaks of gold (hmm…hadn’t thought to try the Delicata, and it’s my favorite gold ink pad too). The inlaid snowflake just added more delicious beauty…I LOVE this non-traditional, yet so very festive CAS (well it isn’t really!) card. It’s just beautiful. TFS & Hugs
