If you’re looking for my Time Out DT post from earlier today, it’s here … otherwise, stay tuned! I was honoured and excited to be the inaugural Surprise Party Guest at Seize the Birthday during October … and I’m equally thrilled to have been asked by the lovely Nancy to stay on for the November party too … way to celebrate! This fortnight we have no toppings at all … in other words, you can play along with any birthday card you create … I went for typical party decorations on mine … shiny balloons and shimmery confetti …
An almost one layer card, stamped with a sentiment from SSS and balloons from Winnie & Walter. The balloons were masked and each triple/partially stamped with various shades of the same colour to give them a sense of dimension … and of course they were treated to lashings of Wink of Stella and a generous helping of Glossy Accents, as befits a birthday party! This was one of those moments where a MISTI would’ve been handy … without one, though, I went all old fashioned and eyeballed it … it seems to have worked out ok! The strings and little bow were hand drawn, I added the strip of DP down the side and scattered some confetti stars around the sentiment.
We’d be delighted to have you playing along with us at Seize the Birthday … there’s a heap of inspiration from the DT over at the blog … and for those of you in the throes of Christmas card making, just think what a lovely change it would be do make something completely different! Hope to see you in the gallery!
My celebratory card is heading off to …
Virginia’s View – All About Texture … mine is subtle … the linen effect card base, the stars and the shiny and dimensional Glossy Accents
Winnie & Walter – Join In To Win … my balloons are from W&W
SSS Monday – So Glossy
Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy! Anita 🙂

All this without a MISTI 🙂 The balloons look amazing and have so much dimension I see a bit of shimmer and the Glossy accents always beautiful! The strip along the side is perfect with the one layer stamped images ! Hope you have a wonderful day!
I don’t believe the fabulous color you’ve achieved on these balloons, Anita … and the dimension! Without a MISTI? It would look a dog’s dinner if I tried it! Really gorgeous!

Great CAS birthday card. The balloons are perfect. You are very popular as everyone wants you to guest design – hooray.
Such a great look on the balloons! Love that gloss and shimmer. And those tiny stars are perfect for decorating.
Love your card! The stars seem like confetti thrown about! Makes for happiness…
Ooh, Anita! Your triple stamping is wonderful – even more so because you did it the old-fashioned way! So happy you’re staying with us for November at Seize The Birthday 🙂
Oh, what stunning balloons!! Fabulous card, Anita, so glad you could stay with us a bit longer at Seize the Birthday!! Heart Hugs! Colleen
You’re a busy lady with all these guest spots Anita! Those balloons look good enough to pop! So vibrant, it looks like I could lift them straight off your card!
Congratulations on your encore performance for Seize the Birthday. Clearly they know a good thing when they see it. I love this card–the contrast between the giant ‘happy’ and the tiny ‘birthday’ and those festive balloons.
You my dear are a delightful guest and we were so thrilled to extend your stay! Love your shiny balloons and the little sprinkle of stars perfectly placed! Let me also say, you are an excellent writer and I so enjoy reading your blog…you have a way with words! Have a great day!
Gorgeous shimmery balloons. You’ve got those cheery colors nailed perfectly. A great card with the bold Happy and those delightful balloons. Have a great weekend. TFS
Right off the hop pal, I gotta say how awesome your balloon strings are!!! Definitely the work of a steady hand!
Love the colors and the shaded colors of te baloons! Sooooooooo impressed with your ‘eye ball’ stamping technique! I’d likely have ended up with six sloppy balloons! Great sentiment and perfectly placed star trios…’specially the one trio that is split by the sentiment.
Late to the party…but I have a good excuse (found on my latest post) but won’t go into it here. LOVE this very happy birthday card! Those balloons are fabulous in their glittery, shiny glory. And if you are looking to make one major purchase this year, I’d definitely go with the MISTI. It doesn’t solve everything, but it sure makes life easier! Your eyeballing, however is pretty darn good! Have a great weekend.xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Great card; those balloons really shine a bit! Congrats on another month of guest-designing! Enjoy the sunday!
This is beautiful Anita, those balloons look amazing and congratulations on your guest design position! Thank you for sharing your project and for playing along with us over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog… 🙂
Bright, happy and just about perfect! So good to have you joining us for another month my friend!
Your hard work on those balloons was oh-so-worth-it. They are wonderful. Love the tiny stars too to add to the wafting feel.
Your card looks amazing Anita and I love those beautiful balloons too! Hugs xx
So well done Anita!
You are the Queen of CAS!
Thank You~
Such a wonderful CAS card, Anita! The balloons looks so pretty with their glossy coating, and it’s amazing what a great looking sentiment and a thin strip of paper down the side of a card can do to pull a design together!! CAS but a knockout!
Wonderfully CAS! Love the balloon strings to the sentiment and the glossy accents!
Anita congratulations and your card is shiny perfection! You always inspire!
Such a happy card! Big congrats to you! How wonderful! France sure needs happiness right now. I start to cry, hearing about those horrific attacks. My heart goes out to all French people. I am glad you are safe, my friend.
The dimension you created with your balloons is incredible!!! I was immediately drawn to them even before I read your post. Amazing card, my friend!
Wow! Love the dimension on those balloons! Looks like you don’t need a MISTI, but can thoroughly recommend, the husband treated me to one recently. Cx
How wonderful you’re staying on with Seize the Birthday, and with the cards you’ve been designing, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns into a ‘full time’ invitation! Your balloons: oh, they do delight! I’ve tried the technique you did, but alas, my results wind up as treats for Mr. Recycle Bin. I’ll just blame my not-so-fabulous inks…Gorgeous card, my friend!
Hugs~c
Beautiful shading on those balloons and all that glossiness is mesmerising. Certainly makes me happy just to look at it!! How are you doing with everything going on in Paris?? Are you safe??
Those balloons are absolutely stunning!! WOW! Thanks so much for playing along with us. 🙂
