We’re mid way through our lovely Christmas themed challenge at Time Out … with the optional twist of using pink or purple … and after last week’s pink extravaganza, this time I went with a little understated purple …
I ombré sponged Chipped Sapphire and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over a white card panel (Seedless Preserves isn’t in my stash … yet!) and added some Perfect Pearls splatters over it. The nativity image is from Hero Arts Greatest Gift (partly masked off), double heat embossed in white to give it some glossy dimension. I trimmed the panel to size, popped it up on the cardbase on craft foam, added a single gem to the star and stamped the Uniko sentiment in Brilliance Starlight Black. Voilà … the reason for the season …
We’d love for you to play along with us at Time Out … you can use any colours in your Christmas card … but if you do use the pink or purple twist, you’ll be in with a random chance of winning a self selected stamp set from our sponsor, Uniko … and there are such yummy ones to choose from! As usual, our overall winner, as chosen by the DT, will be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge! There’s plenty of inspiration over at the Time Out blog, from our talented Guest Designer Suchi from Suchi’s Cardstock … from our own fabulous Design Team … and from some of the Design Team over at Uniko … so you’re in for a treat! Also, if you comment on the Uniko blog here and on the blogs of the Uniko DT who have played along with us, you could win their stamp of the week … Label Love! Hope to see you in the gallery!

I like the look of that double embossing, what a great texture it gives, will have to give that a go. I have a few ring Xmas images and have unsure how to use them, but this gives me some ideas…thanks for the inspiration x

Perfect ‘reason for the season’ card. Your made-up-mixed-up-by-yourself color is gorgeous! Love the small Nativity panel and how it takes center stage; just as it should be. Lovely sparkle without being too much or too little. This looks like a ‘repeater’ card…you know, the one you should make over and over so you have dozens in your stash. I love this card. And I miss you tons, my friend. Big hugs….xoxo
Beautiful and serene – love how you’ve created your own purple. But forget Seedless Preserves – Wilted Violet is all the rage now! lol!
So truly gorgeous, and perfect … you’ve created such a perfect shade of purple, Anita! This one, my friend, is worth a repeat, or 12!

Gorgeous card, Anita! I love that you chose purple for your background, and the splatters are the perfect touch! Loving how you created your own beautiful blend of inks, too!
I look at this beauty and automatically know it was created by Anita from France. It really is gorgeous and CAS. The color purple is regal and your combination works so well. I love it!
Your double embossing looks great, Anita – haven’t heard of it before – such a lovely effect you got!!!! And the sponging and the Perfect Pearls splatter – gorgeous, and the perfect bg for the very lovely little stamp you used. This is a stunning card, my friend – CAS at it’s best!!! Have to go back to have another look!!!!
Have a wonderful evening!!!

LOVE your custom color! And love the somewhat ‘enamel glazed’ look that you achieved by double embossing…something I NEVER would have thought to do! Tons of textured white space and a sweet little, tidy sentiment makes for some mighty fine eye candy!
In all it’s simplicity and purple; it looks stunning! Enjoy the sunday…
