The 12 Kits of Occasions – December Guest Designer

Hello … bonjour … hope you had the most wonderful and blessed Christmas!  Today, I’m excited and honoured to be Guest Designing with the DT at The 12 Kits of Occasions!  What a fabulous surprise and huge thrill it was some months ago, to receive the lovely Lindsey‘s invitation to play along with this group of truly amazing, super talented crafters.  Thanks so much, Lindsey … it’s been so much fun playing with the myriad of wonderful goodies in your ‘Walking in a Winter Wonderland’ kit!  Just take a look at all the yumminess that tumbled out of my happy package …

12 Kits Dec 15 Yep … fantastic … so full of delicious supplies!  I made eight cards … so far (warning, photo heavy post!) … and there’s still tons left to play with.  Are you sitting comfortably … can I share?

12 Kits 1Isn’t that feathery trim from the kit just gorgeous … perfect frostiness … and the snowflake’s been shimmered up too!

12 Kits 2The blended card base was an ‘Anita’ addition … as was the sparkly Stickles shining from the windows of those sweet little houses!

12 Kits 3Here, these warm hearted neighbours have thrown open their shutters to welcome guests who arrive by the shimmery light of the Stickled stars …

12 Kits 4… and the residents of this tiny mountain hamlet must be skiers … they’re hoping for more snow … my sparkly seed beads serve as the shaker snow!
12 Kits 5Non traditional colours for a contemporary door wreath … complete with Wink of Stella’d and Glossy Accented ornaments.

12 Kits 6The slightly more traditional next door neighbour …

12 Kits 7and the minimalist one on the other side !  The tiny berries were my own addition.

12 Kits 8Finishing as I started … with snowflakes … all shimmery and pearly …

12 Kits All… and here’s a final photo of them all, lined up along the cheminée.

If you haven’t already been, I know you’ll want to head over to The 12 Kits of Occasions blog to check out the fabulous array of cards from the DT and from fellow Guest Designer, Bhavana … and to follow the links to their blogs.  There’s a full list of supplies over there too, if you’d like further details on those.  Thanks so much, once again, Lindsey for such a fantastic kit … it’s been a delight playing along with you all!

I’m linking some of my Walking in a Winter Wonderland cards to …

Joyeux Noël! Virginia’s View #21, Happy Little Stampers CAS – December, Freshly Made Sketches #217, SSS Wednesday 23/12

Hello … bonjour!  Are you all ready for the festivities … relaxed, chilled and maybe even already enjoying the company of loved ones … hope so!  I managed to get everything finished with minutes to spare (!) and we just got home after taking part in our candlelit, carolling Procession of the Nativity through town, which finished with the first mass of Christmas at church.  Lovely!   I’m popping in now to wish you and those you love the Happiest Christmas … may the joy of Our Lord’s birth light your day tomorrow and always …

Merry Christmas, VV 21, HLS CAS December, FMS 217, SSSW 23-12This gorgeous die cut is from Taylored Expressions … I adhered it flat over a sponged-with-three-distress-inks background (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire) … and intentionally created the halo effect around the white .  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado … sliced off one of only nine wood block stamps I possess!  There’s heaps of sparkle from a good spritz or three of Shimmer Spray … and from the Stickles on the star … you can see a hint of it here … although IRL but it’s much, much more shimmery …

Time Out DT 46 Mid Challenge Reminder, Happy Little Stampers Sketch – December, SSS Monday 14/12, SSS Wednesday 16/12

Hello … bonjour!  We’re mid way through our latest lovely challenge at Time Out, where this fortnight we’re inspired by a deliciously decorated Christmas front door (a little further down).   I went with a wreath again … this time, a more simple, traditional one rather than the contemporary bubbly one of last week …

Time Out DT 46RTime Outand here’s that delicious door …

The wreath is from Winnie & Walter, die cut in solid and outline form … the solid one was watercolour washed and the outline one was coloured with various Promarker greens … and they were fixed together.  I adhered the wreath onto the card base, curving the leaves up along the inner and outer edges to provide some dimension, and decorated it with tiny red gems and a seam binding bow (yep, ribbon … on one of my cards!).  The two parts of the  sentiment (both from SSS) were heat embossed in platinum, with the ‘happy’ stamped directly onto the base and the ‘Christmas’ die cut three times, stacked and added across the wreath.  Voilà!

Does this luscious bauble wreath get your creative tastebuds tingling?  We’d love it if it did!  If you’re in need of some inspiration, there’s a heap of it over at the Time Out blog … from our super talented Guest Designer, Sonja K from The Art of Stamping, and from our own fantastic Design Team.  Do hope you’ll have chance to make it to the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

Happy Little Stampers Sketch – see below … the delightful Darnell is GD … are you playing?  My sentiment’s done a bit of wandering … !

Time Out DT #46, My Favorite Things Sketch #258, SSS Monday 7/12, SSS Work It Wednesday – November, Virginia’s View #21

Hello … bonjour … hope your week is turning out to be wonderful!  We start a fabulous new challenge at Time Out today … this fortnight, we have a deliciously festive Home Sweet Home inspiration photo to tempt you (it’s a little further down) … here’s how I interpreted it …

Time Out DT 46Time Out… and here’s the yummy inspiration …

I drew some pencil lines around a couple of MFT Circle Stax to act as a guide for my wreath, which was randomly stamped with dots from SSS Lots of Dots in red, two greens and the shimmery platinum.  The pencil lines were erased when it was complete, each dot was coated generously with Wink of Stella (of course!) and topped with a layer of Glossy Accents.  I cut the ‘sending’ from foil paper, adhered it, looping the ‘s’ round one of the ornaments … and nestled the Waltzingmouse Stamps sentiment underneath it … that’s stamped in Delicata Gold and clear embossed.  If I were to do it again, I’d match the die cut to the stamped sentiment rather than using foil … think it’d  look more co-ordinated that way.  Oh well, hindsight’s a wonderful thing!   How about a little detail …

Time Out DT 46 Detail

Will our inspiration photo tempt you to play along?  We’d love it if it did!  There are lots of gorgeous ideas over at the Time Out blog … from our super talented Guest Designer, Sonja K from The Art of Stamping, and from our own wonderful Design Team … so why not pop over and be inspired?  Do hope you’ll have chance to make it to the gallery!

Time Out DT #45 Mid Challenge Reminder, AAA Cards #53, Addicted to CAS #77, SSS Wednesday 2/12, Simply Create Too #99, Uniko #27

Hello … bonjour!  We’re mid way through our delicious challenge over at Time Out, where this fortnight we’re ‘Inspired By Words’ … our words are ‘snowflakes are winter’s butterflies’.  This week I’ve gone all cool and frosty …

Time Out DT 45R,Time OutThe snowflake panel is one I embossed at the Lake House last year … think it’s Bev‘s (thanks my friend!) … maybe it’s from Stampin Up … not sure of either!   It’s trimmed down, stamped with a sentiment from Penny Black and a SSS Christmas star, I added some gems to the centres and adhered the panel to the card base that’d been sponged with silver ink round the edges … it’s rather shimmery and sparkly IRL!

How would you like to play along with us?  You can use any or all of the words in our phrase … just let your imagination wander.  There’s plenty of inspiration over at the Time Out blog … from our talented Guest Designer, Ashwini, and from our own wonderful Design Team … definitely worth checking out!  Hope to see you in the gallery!

I’m joining in with …

AAA Cards – Anything Goes

Addicted to CAS – Dimension

SSS Wednesday – Let It Snow

Uniko – CAS Christmas
