Time Out DT #48R, Simply Create Too #101, SSS Wednesday – 27 January, SSS Work It Wednesday – January, Uniko #28

Hello … bonjour … hope you’re having a wonderful week!  We’re half way through our latest ‘CASE … With Your Own Twist’ challenge over at Time Out, where our CASE designer, the amazingly talented Marika has given us a beautifully coloured, delicate and delightful floral card as our inspiration (a little further down).  This week, I’m tempting you to play along with a seriously CAS twist on the original …

Time out DT 48RTime OutHere’s Marika‘s stunner …

I stamped the two step Papertrey roses onto a trimmed down white panel, double stamping the leaves just round the edges to add depth, added a few coats of Wink of Stella to the blooms, and nestled the sentiment (also Papertrey) in close to the image.  The panel was popped up on craft foam onto a base that’d been dressed on two sides with some slender strips of striped DP.  I was inspired this time by Marika’s floral image, the colours and the placement of the sentiment … my twists were the inverted layout, the popped up panel and the ultra CAS style (which was positively QACAS … Quick and Clean and Simple, to quote the lovely Darnell!).

So … are you tempted to play along and make Marika‘s card your own?  I do hope so … there’s still plenty of time to join in!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with a heap of inspiration from our fabulous DT … see you in the gallery!

My QACAS card is heading over to …

Time Out DT #48, Freshly Made Sketches #220, Seize The Birthday – 14 January

Hello … bonjour!   I’m starting with a  huge thank you this morning … for all your wonderful comments following my CASEing Genius feature!  I was so touched and had my heart so thoroughly warmed by your lovely words, both here and on Kelly‘s blog … each of you is such a star … I’m grateful for every one of you … and am so blessed to be a part of this fantastic card making blog world!  Thank you!  Today marks the start of another brilliant challenge over at Time Out … this time round, our theme is ‘Designer to CASE’ … and our Designer is the amazingly talented Marika from Me and Minime Crafting.  Marika’s beautiful card is a little further down … here’s my take on it …

Time Out DT 48   Time Out

Marika‘s beauty …

Isn’t it a stunner?   So much so that I stuck pretty closely to the original!  My floral cluster is from Papertrey, die cut, stamped and Distress Ink watercoloured … with Glossy Accents highlighting the tiny circles on the blooms … they’re all bobbly and texture-y!  I masked the card base and sponged on Distress Ink to create the stripe and the fading out colour, stamped the Papertrey sentiment in grey and popped my flower sprig up on craft foam (also die cut) over it.  Toyed with some sequins, but after a long some time playing, they couldn’t settle so went home … not their day for playing nicely with the flower, so it remains the star of the show!

How would you like to play along with us … you can use any or all of the elements in Marika‘s card to inspire you … we’d love to see what you create!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of ideas from our wonderful DT.  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

Seize The Birthday – Clean and Simple Topping

I’m waaaayyyy behind with my meanderings around blogland … life has been a little crazy over the last week or so and I’ve not had the chance to pop in as usual … my apologies … looking forward to some fabulous inspiration over the next few days!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

CASEing Genius!

CASEing Genius 1Hello … bonjour!  I’m guessing you’ll all have heard of the amazingly talented and enthusiastic Kelly Latevola and her fabulous series called CASEing Genius, where she takes inspiration from a designer’s cards, creates her own masterpiece and shares it across the blogosphere.   Kelly celebrated her one year anniversary of the series towards the end of last year, and during it, asked those who entered her challenge to nominate a designer for her to CASE.  The sweet and lovely Bev at Happy Dance nominated me … eek (really?!) … and today, I’m excited, honoured and so delighted to be featuring over at You and Your Big Dreams in Kelly’s latest CASEing Genius post!

As this is a scheduled post, I haven’t seen Kelly’s card yet … but am so looking forward to it … I’ll be there as soon as I can to check it out!  If you’d like to pop over and take a look, you’ll find it here, along with a snippet or two of information about yours truly!  Thanks so much, Kelly for the feature … it’s been so fun … and an honour to be among so many awesome CASEing Genius Alumni!  Thanks so much too, to sweet Bev, for the nomination that started it all!

Finally, thanks so much to you for coming by … your visits and comments (even without me showing you a card!!) are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Time Out #47 Mid Challenge Reminder, AEIHeartU #32, Just Us Girls #325

Hello … bonjour!  We’re mid way through our fabulous Birthday themed challenge at Time Out … with the optional Technique Twist of using sponging.  After last week’s dimensional, multi layered confection, this time I went with a (mostly) flat little number (still no twisting!) …

Time Out DT 47RTime OutThis card was inspired by two videos I saw over the last few weeks … this one from Jennifer McGuire and this one from May Park.  I combined the two ideas for my version, using cool, frosty looking brrrrrrr-wintery colours.   The die cut happy is from Avery Elle, cut once in silver foil and three times in aqua, stacked with the letter loops left in place on the bottom layer, and adhered to the card front.  I drew a pencil line frame around the card as a guide and did some random surround stamping with Avery Elle stamps, using four chilly ink colours plus silver to go with the sentiment.  A little Stickles was added to the flower centres, a tiny SSS sentiment was white embossed on black, trimmed out and nestled in under the happy on foam tape … and I erased the pencil line frame.  Kind of prettily frosty … or frostily pretty!

We’d love for you to play along with us at Time Out … with any style of birthday card … and if you use sponging on your project, you’ll be in with a random chance of winning a £15 evoucher to spend at Uniko!  Also, and as usual, our overall winner, as chosen by the DT, will be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge!  It could be you!  There’s a heap of inspiration on display over at the Time Out blog, from our talented (and returning from July!) Guest Designer, Rema from Paper Panache … and from our wonderful Design Team.  Hope you’ll be able to make it to the gallery!

I’m playing along at …

AEIHeartU – Winter … I went with those cool, frosty colours!

Just Us Girls – Metallics … my silver sentiment and stars!

My Favorite Things Colour #36, My Favorite Things Sketch #262, SSS Wednesday – 6 January

Hello … bonjour!  First of all, thanks so much for all your support and empathy around my commenting issues recently … it’s good to feel I’m not alone in all this!!  Popping in quickly today to share a little floral number before some challenge doors start to close …

MFT Colour 36, MFT Sketch 232, SSSW 6-1I stamped the MFT blooms and a Mama Elephant sentiment onto a white card panel and scattered some Winnie & Walter die cut hearts onto the flower heads, with one between the words.  The hearts were Wink of Stella’d and Glossy Accented, of course … love how they kind of mimic the shape of the leaves!  The panel was adhered flat to a white card base that’d been edged with grey … et voilà … QACAS as the lovely Darnell would say!

I’m playing along with …

MFT Colour Challenge – After Midnight, Steel Grey, Limelight, Tickled Pink … my closest colours

MFT Sketch – see below … I turned it on it’s side

SSS Wednesday – Something New … the ME sentiment

Gotta dash … floor tiles are longing to be laid!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Muse #147, SSS Monday – 4 January, SSS Wednesday – 6 January

Hello … bonjour!  Yesterday, I was sending sunshine … now I’m sending hugs …

Muse 147, SSSM 4-1, SSSW 6-1The lovely and awesomely talented Michele is our Muse this week … and has given us a fun pop of a card (below) to play with.  I was inspired by the monochrome-with-a-touch-of-red colour palette, the panel of hearts and the black stamped sentiment.  My rows of little SSS hearts were stamped using my MISTI (yay … I just loved writing that!) and I used a Papertrey die cut ‘hugs’ in place of Michele’s stamped panel.  The ‘hugs’ was cut from white card and red craft foam, stacked and adhered to the card base, and I nestled the Papertrey sentiment underneath it.  The tiny red hearts (Winnie & Walter) were cut from left over foam and they wandered around over the stamped panel till they found comfortable resting places.  One made it’s way all the way over to adorn the sentiment … obviously a bit of an adventurer!

I’m playing along with …

Muse – Michele … see below

SSS Monday – Something New … the SSS rows of hearts

SSS Wednesday – Something New … the same!

Finally, this evening … I’m experiencing a bit of an issue with commenting and am wondering if anyone else has had the same thing.  Sometimes, I’m obliged to confirm I’m not a robot … a range of pictures comes up with instructions to select those that meet a certain criteria (eg: all pictures with water) … and it can’t be bypassed!  Don’t know why it’s happening and it seems to be random.  I’m pretty sure that on occasion, I’ve left a comment and not realised that the ‘I’m not a robot’ box has come up before moving on.  It means that some of my comments are not being published … so if you’re missing some from me, I apologise … I’ve been by and have left you some love … but it’s being messed with!   If anyone knows what’s going on, I’d really appreciate a bit of guidance on resolving it!  Thanks!

Hope your weekend has gone/is going along wonderfully!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

CASology #179, SSS Monday – 4 January, SSS Wednesday – 6 January

Hello … bonjour … or rather ‘Hello Sunshine’ …

CASology 179, SSSM 4-1, SSSW 6-1It’s at least a century since I played along with CASology … always want to … the code word always goes on my card list … and then the time gobbling monster comes along and just munches it’s way through my well laid plans.  Not so this week … I’ve sent him off on a wild goose chase … geese apparently don’t mind if their plans are left in disarray … must be water off a duck’s goose’s back for them.    So, my card … one SSS stamped and Wink of Stella’d sun, complete with heat embossed shades … an adhered SSS die cut, also clear heat embossed for dimension and shine … and a Papertrey dotted line … simple!  Detail shot?

CASology 179, SSSM 4-1, SSSW 6-1 DetailThe sun is going to be shining over at …

SSS Monday – Something New … the hello die

SSS Wednesday – Something New … ditto!

Been enjoying some meandering around blogland … lots still to see … and there’s another card or two in the pipeline, so I hope to be back tomorrow with those!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂
