Time Out DT #48, Freshly Made Sketches #220, Seize The Birthday – 14 January

Hello … bonjour!   I’m starting with a  huge thank you this morning … for all your wonderful comments following my CASEing Genius feature!  I was so touched and had my heart so thoroughly warmed by your lovely words, both here and on Kelly‘s blog … each of you is such a star … I’m grateful for every one of you … and am so blessed to be a part of this fantastic card making blog world!  Thank you!  Today marks the start of another brilliant challenge over at Time Out … this time round, our theme is ‘Designer to CASE’ … and our Designer is the amazingly talented Marika from Me and Minime Crafting.  Marika’s beautiful card is a little further down … here’s my take on it …

Time Out DT 48   Time Out

Marika‘s beauty …

Isn’t it a stunner?   So much so that I stuck pretty closely to the original!  My floral cluster is from Papertrey, die cut, stamped and Distress Ink watercoloured … with Glossy Accents highlighting the tiny circles on the blooms … they’re all bobbly and texture-y!  I masked the card base and sponged on Distress Ink to create the stripe and the fading out colour, stamped the Papertrey sentiment in grey and popped my flower sprig up on craft foam (also die cut) over it.  Toyed with some sequins, but after a long some time playing, they couldn’t settle so went home … not their day for playing nicely with the flower, so it remains the star of the show!

How would you like to play along with us … you can use any or all of the elements in Marika‘s card to inspire you … we’d love to see what you create!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of ideas from our wonderful DT.  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

I’m waaaayyyy behind with my meanderings around blogland … life has been a little crazy over the last week or so and I’ve not had the chance to pop in as usual … my apologies … looking forward to some fabulous inspiration over the next few days!  Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

TIME OUT has set an almost impossible challenge this round with the goal of CASEing the brilliant artist, Marika! I have to say, however, that you really rose to the challenge, Anita, and you’ve given us an equally beautiful card to admire! Now I have jaw-drop, which quite possibly could be permanent, after seeing BOTH of these creations in a singular post!! BTW, it’s not a particularly attractive look, but I don’t mind! Huge hugs and mwahs, Darnell

Oh yes, Marika’s card is gorgeous, but so to is your Anita-esque version! That lovely bloom, poised in the corner, solo on the stage, offers a performance extraordinaire! Incredibly beautiful! If my husband were to give me such a card for our anniversary, he’d definitely win 10 brownie points (indeed, I’d even bake him brownies!)! Incredibly gorgeous!!

You have, once again, floored me…no wonder, because you are a genius. Your CASE of Marika’s card is amazing and that’s hard because she’s a genius, too. The inking and coloring is gorgeous…think you did the right thing sending the sequins away. That flower needs nothing, it’s perfect.

Anita, a fabulous take on the lovely challenge card. The masking to create your stripes – looks amazing. But I’m blown away by the interpretation of the challenge floral design. It’s a superlative looking die, and the way you’ve emulated the challenge flowers is just so pretty. Will have to search out this PTI die. Well done, and well deserved on your spotlight feature too! WTGo! TFS & Happy wkend. Hugs

A beautiful take on Marika’s card Anita and funnily enough the same set I’ve used for this weeks FMS. I must try and white emboss it as well – it has a lovely subtle feel to it!
