Time Out DT #50 Mid Challenge Reminder, SSS Monday – 22 February, SSS Wednesday – 24 February, STAMPlorations CAS – February, The Friday Mashup #243, The Male Room #29, Addicted to CAS #82

Hello … bonjour!  I’m hoping to tempt you to play along with us at Time Out with my card today … in our latest challenge which has a Home Sweet Home photo inspiration theme (further down).  Last week I went soft and feminine … this time, I’ve gone graphic and masculine …

Time Out DT 50RTime Out

and here’s our cool Home Sweet Home picture …

I went with the monochrome colour scheme and picked out the city scape pillows at the back of the bed as the focus for my crisp scene.  A DP background (yep, really!), a white skyline adhered over a black one to create depth (cut at the Lake House … don’t know whose or the maker, sorry!) and a ticker tape style black sentiment strip embossed in white (Annabelle Stamps, now not operating).

ETA:  Thanks to the delightful Darnell and splendid Susanne, I now know the die cut is called Cityscape Nightline and it’s from Memory Box!

How might you be inspired by our photo … colour palette, icons, buildings, travel … the world’s your oyster!  There’s still plenty of time to join in and we’d love to see you in the gallery.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … along with plenty of creative ideas from our uber talented Guest Designer, Cornelia from Stempel Spass (a must visit blog!) and from our own fabulous Design Team.  Do hope you’ll have chance to make it to the gallery!

I’m playing along with …

SSS Monday – Inspired By A Song … mine’s Dancing In The City by Marshall Hain

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

STAMPlorations CAS – Anything Goes (no red option … and my white space isn’t white!)

The Friday Mashup – Birthday (first time playing along!)

ETA … thanks to my lovely friends Susanne and Barb, I’m also joining in at …

The Male Room – Monochrome (first time playing along!)

Addicted to CAS – Home

Thanks so much for all your lovely birthday wishes last week … my heart was warmed enough to last the whole year!  Thanks too for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Okay…I’ll be CASEing this one too. My first thought, was, “how does she do that???!!!” Meaning how do you come up with these brilliant ideas? LOVE this card. Definitely a masculine feel. I have a gray already cut skyline just waiting to be used too…lol! The striped dp was a great choice; it almost looks like an Edward Gorey rainy day scene. Great card. Really do love this. xoxoxo

I am absolutely in love with this graphic card! Brilliant idea to use this striped PP (yay for you) as sky and to offset the skyline! I have that die (btw it’s from Memory Box) and am pinning this card!
You could also link this up to “The Male Room Challenge” where the theme is monochromatic.
Have a wonderful day, my friend!

Wow, I love this bold, masculine card Anita! And I love your take from the inspirational photo. I didn’t even noticed those pillows at the back of the bed until you said about them. Then I had to have another look! lol Good eye! Love that city skyline, looks so great. Hugs, Brenda

Seriously doesn’t matter who’s die that is, it just looks incredible against the background. And the ticker tape sentiment…it’s a stroke of genius. Perfection.

Definitely going to try to CASE this one. Love the graphic paper behind that amazing sky line. I think I may even have that one, memorybox perhaps. This is simply stunning, and wonderful way to do the sentiment–like a ticker tape.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen dp on one of your cards Anita! I thought that background was inked. What a great idea to mat the buildings against the black…so effective!

Absolutely love this masculine card. The silhouette in white is so fresh (everyone always uses the black one as the main image! And fabulous PP. Thanks for your concern about DD too. She is feeling better each day. So thankful.

Quite a different feel from your last card, indeed! Really love your white city with a small shadow of black, and I like how your sentiment strip doesn’t start at “Happy” (assume you stamped it that way). A wonderfully masculine card!

Gorgeous and graphic – I love the combination of elements – especially the layered die cuts (I was trying to figure out whether it was layered or adhered with dimensional tape when I was looking at the photo – the effect is really striking!) Jill

WOW, Anita, this is fabulous!!!! What a wonderful piece of dp you used to do the sky – it works so wonderfully and how clever to do the skyline with the white and black to add lovely depth!! And I love how you’ve done the sentiment!!!! Such a great masculine card – so perfectly done!!! Love it!!!

Oy, I am running so late and I’m super sorry that I missed playing in this awesome black and white challenge. I love that bedspread in the photo! And I love how you designed your inspiration photo with the cool pp (high five!!) and cityscape, Anita! I’m not sure if I brought mine to the Lake House, but I do have that one if you want to edit your post with the manufacturer name: it’s “Cityscape Nightline” by Memory Box. Miss you, mon amie!! Mwah and hugs, Darnell
