Hello … bonjour! Are you playing along with us at our second anniversary challenge at Time Out this fortnight? Our theme is Easter or Spring (with an optional twist of masking) … and there’s plenty of time to link up. This week, I left out the masking but stayed with the colours and theme of Easter …
I stamped and white heat embossed the Rejoice sentiment down a white card panel (thank goodness for Misti!), used a broad brush to swipe a watercolour wash of Distress Ink over each word, and adhered the panel to the card base. A stitched border was embossed down each side of the panel and the base. I cut the Easter cross in woodgrain card stock, popped it up on foam tape onto the card, and stamped the sentiment in black Versafine. The white embossing resisted the ink a little … oops … so I went over those parts with a Micron fine black pen … that did the trick! Products are all from SSS except the stitched border, which is Lawn Fawn.
So … will you play along … there are so many options with this theme … and we’d love it if you joined us in the gallery! As befits an anniversary celebration, there are prizes … a $20 gift card from STAMPlorations for the winner (as chosen by the DT) … and two Artplorations stencils for a randomly drawn player who uses the twist of masking. Details are over at the Time Out blog … along with lots of delicious inspiration from our wonderfully talented and returning Guest Designer, TaeEun from Rainbow in November … and from our own amazing Design Team. Hope to see you there!
I’m linking up to …

Love the ombre background you created in sunny yellow! Really stunning card!
LOve that you’ve used the wood-grain white for your cross, Anita – brilliant! Rejoice, indeed!

Beautiful card with a luscious shade of yellow. Misti worked well with this card.
The stitched border is a nice touch.
Do you have to mail order your products? Barb☺️
I love the stitched border on this…is it a single EF to do this? Beautiful ombré background xx
Again…you prove how brilliant you are. This is a glorious Easter card. There is nothing about it that I don’t LOVE.
Anita, the ombre background is so lovely. The entire card is lovely, peaceful and brings the spirit of Easter to life. Fabulous.
A gorgeous and modern design for your Easter card! Love it!

This is the perfect Easter card, Anita! I love the background where the color says Rejoice as much as the words! I love the simple cross and the stitching along the main panel! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Mix Up!

You are really becoming an expert with the ink blending, Anita, and your precision with the background ~ even with the Misti ~ is phenomenal! This is, well, heavenly!! Miss you, mon ami! Hugs and mwahs! Darnell
Oops, forgot to thank you for playing for the third time in NBUS #6!! xxoo
Gorgeous Easter card Anita…just love that wonderful yellow background! Miss you lots my dear friend.
Your ombre inking over the sentiment is so eye catching, Anita, and how appropriate to use a woodgrain cs for the cross.
The ombre background is beautiful, love this Anita!

Perfect ombré ink blending for this spectacular repeated Rejoice Easter card! Really love!
That’s how I feel on Easter morning – full of rejoicing. Beautiful card! The yellow is reminiscent of the sun coming up on that first Easter morning; perfect. This card practically sings those joyful hymns of that blessed morning. So beautiful. So full of hope. Just gorgeous! Miss you, and sending you big hugs. xo
beyond gorgeous, anita!!! absolutely love it!
This is beautiful, Anita. Your yellow ombre panel is so fresh and spring like. Perfect for Easter and spring. And, I am very happy to see that you are using your Misti.
Beautiful inking once again and great idea to use that black pen to make your sentiment work! Very pretty and also elegant card. xxx
Sooo gorgeous, Anita!! Love your gradient yellow background, like a sunrise, which is so appropriate for your card. Very well put together. And great misti-stamping!
Just beautiful Anita! I especially love the stitched line details you added – they finish the design brilliantly – I have just ordered those line dies and your card has me itching for them to arrive! It is great to see you linking up at AAA Cards too – your card is perfect for the challenge! Jill
What a gorgeous elegant card! I love the ombre/resist.
This is amazing Anita – I’m just about to put my order in for that stitched border..adds just the right amount of detail. The ombre background is a stunning backdrop too!
Oh my, Anita…your card touches my spirit. How I wish I had this set on hand to recreate (well, I’d try my best) this card for my mom. She would absolutely love it! Off to check out Simon’s place; maybe it’s time to take the plunge, despite our low Canadian dollar, to bring this (and maybe one or 12 other things…*grin*) to my space…So inspired…
Hugs~c
Gorgeous card, Anita! I like that the ombre goes the other way – I usually put the darker side at the bottom – something to think about…Your stamping is impeccable – not so easy to do, even with Misti’s help! I made a similar card yesterday (great minds think alike….) – but it has to wait until the 18th to make its debut 😉
Fabulous card! love the embossed ombre’ background! thanks for sharing with us at AAA Cards!
J’aime bien ta carte de Påques qui me rappelle d’un lever du soleil. Merci de partager!
This is an absolutely beautiful card! I adore the way you repeated the word “Rejoice” in the background, which really creates a powerful, yet elegant, setting for your main sentiment and image. And that subtle ombre effect you did looks so fresh! You’ve done a lovely job on every little detail of this card and it was a very inspiring piece to see. Thank you so much for sharing this with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
Absolutely stunning, Anita–love your design!
This is such a gorgeous Easter card, Anita! I love the yellow and white color palette, and that your theme is based on the true meaning of Easter!
So sorry for my delayed visit…been in bed with the flu, and still not feeling ‘great’! Hugs, Barb
Wow! Crisp, clean, soft – gorgeous!
This is really nice. Thanks for the idea. I have these stamps and dies.
