Time Out DT #51 – Mid Challenge Reminder, Darnell’s NBUS #6, CAS Mix Up – March, AAA Cards #59, SSS Monday – 7 March

Hello … bonjour!  Are you playing along with us at our second anniversary challenge at Time Out this fortnight?  Our theme is Easter or Spring (with an optional twist of masking) … and there’s plenty of time to link up.  This week, I left out the masking but stayed with the colours and theme of Easter …

Time Out DT 51RTime OutI stamped and white heat embossed the Rejoice sentiment down a white card panel (thank goodness for Misti!), used a broad brush to swipe a watercolour wash of Distress Ink over each word, and adhered the panel to the card base.  A stitched border was embossed down each side of the panel and the base.  I cut the Easter cross in woodgrain card stock, popped it up on foam tape onto the card, and stamped the sentiment in black Versafine.  The white embossing resisted the ink a little … oops … so I went over those parts with a Micron fine black pen … that did the trick!  Products are all from SSS except the stitched border, which is Lawn Fawn.

So … will you play along … there are so many options with this theme … and we’d love it if you joined us in the gallery!  As befits an anniversary celebration, there are prizes … a $20 gift card from STAMPlorations for the winner (as chosen by the DT) … and two Artplorations stencils for a randomly drawn player who uses the twist of masking.  Details are over at the Time Out blog … along with lots of delicious inspiration from our wonderfully talented and returning Guest Designer, TaeEun from Rainbow in November … and from our own amazing Design Team.  Hope to see you there!

I’m linking up to …

Darnell’s NBUS – Anything Goes … my final entry with this all NBUS card!

CAS Mix It Up – Watercolouring… a fab new challenge from Loll and Bonnie … my additions were heat and dry embossing and die cutting.

AAA Cards – Embossing

SSS Monday – Make Your Own Background … the rejoice panel

That’s how I feel on Easter morning – full of rejoicing. Beautiful card! The yellow is reminiscent of the sun coming up on that first Easter morning; perfect. This card practically sings those joyful hymns of that blessed morning. So beautiful. So full of hope. Just gorgeous! Miss you, and sending you big hugs. xo

Oh my, Anita…your card touches my spirit. How I wish I had this set on hand to recreate (well, I’d try my best) this card for my mom. She would absolutely love it! Off to check out Simon’s place; maybe it’s time to take the plunge, despite our low Canadian dollar, to bring this (and maybe one or 12 other things…*grin*) to my space…So inspired…

Gorgeous card, Anita! I like that the ombre goes the other way – I usually put the darker side at the bottom – something to think about…Your stamping is impeccable – not so easy to do, even with Misti’s help! I made a similar card yesterday (great minds think alike….) – but it has to wait until the 18th to make its debut 😉

This is an absolutely beautiful card! I adore the way you repeated the word “Rejoice” in the background, which really creates a powerful, yet elegant, setting for your main sentiment and image. And that subtle ombre effect you did looks so fresh! You’ve done a lovely job on every little detail of this card and it was a very inspiring piece to see. Thank you so much for sharing this with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
