Time Out DT #52 Mid Challenge Reminder, Seven Hills Crafts – March, The Paper Players #287

Hello … bonjour!  Have you played along with our latest challenge at Time Out yet?  We have a ‘Designer to CASE’ theme this time round … our designer is the talented Marjan Kuppers from M@rjan’s Blog … and her gorgeous card is a little further down.  Here’s where I went with it this week …

Time Out DT 52RTime Outand here’s Marjan‘s lovely card …

My card features the same fabulous colours and floral theme as Marjan‘s … with added dimension from the die cuts and a touch of whimsical style.  I stamped and die cut some blooms and leaves from WPlus9‘s Doodle Buds, coloured them with Promarkers and added some white gel pen accents.  The stems and middle leaves were stamped direct to the card base and were coloured with Zigs.  The scalloped frame started out as a full panel (Winnie & Walter) … I just used a craft knife and ruler to cut out the middle to create the frame.  I popped up the frame, flowers and single leaves on foam tape over the stamping, white heat embossed the sentiment (from the same WPlus9 set) onto a black snippet of card and adhered it to the edge of the frame.

If you haven’t played along with us yet, how about giving it a go … or if you already have, how about second helpings?  You can use any or all of the elements in Marjan‘s card to inspire you … and we’d love to see what you create!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with loads of fabulous ideas from our wonderful DT.  Hope to see you in the gallery!

My card was also inpired by …

Love the blooms bursting out from the frame – that’s what drew my eye on Marjan’s card. Those white gel dots are a lovely stroke of genius.

Such a happy card. Perfect for the season, full of color and hope. Don’t we all need that right now. Popping those flowers out of that sweet frame really draws the eye to the focal point. Brilliant.

First, I love your card. Second, I’m so out of practice cutting with my craft knife and a ruler, that my recycle bin would overflow with attempts! Well done you!!! Geri’s right about the dots too; they’re the perfect addition. Do you have the dies for those pretty blooms? I only have the stamps. Please don’t tell me you fussy cut them….I’ll cry, I swear, lol! Miss you!!!

First: Happy Easter, my friend. May your day, and heart, be filled with the joy and wonder of His resurrection. I’m off to an Easter mass later this morning; looking forward to seeing how the celebration here will differ from the ones I usually attend with my mom. We’ll be having a ham dinner later with my mom-in-law. I’ll miss the family dinner my mom is hostessing (the first at her place since my dad passed), but since I’m *still* not ready to face the ’empty’ spot at the dining room table, being here is a blessing in itself. Kind of a wish I were there but sort of glad I’m not situation. Besides, Andy’s mom is delighted to have us with her, so that makes me happy! Anyway…I adore your sweet trio of doodle flowers. They fill me with joy!
Blessings, hugs and love on this special day, Anita!

Your card is a true pleasure to look at! Great dimension! I always love the “beyond the frame” feature – or however you may say to that! Sadly I always forget about it when I make a card…Happy Easter to you, Anita!

Love this wonderful floral set you’ve used to such lovely effects here. The gel pen really brings out the colors & design of these pretty flowers. They look great set off in the frame, with the foam adding such dimension to the stamping. All the different techniques you’ve applied to the stamp set & dies yielded a fantastic spring card…your MoJo is definitely still around!!! Happy Easter, TFS & Hugs.
