Time Out DT #55, MFT Colour Challenge #43, AAA Cards #62, SSS Wednesday – 20 April, SSS Work It Wednesday – March

Hello … bonjour!  Hope your week’s been wonderful so far!  Today marks the start of another fabulous challenge at Time Out … this time our theme is Celebrations with the Optional Technique Twist of Die Cutting /Fussy Cutting.  Here’s what I came up with …

Time Out DT 55Time OutThese delicate blooms are from the Truth Is set from CAS-ual Fridays … there are two flowers on the one stamp … I did some masking to add a third … and heat embossed them in white.   I used my Zigs and a refilled Wink of Stella pen for the floral watercolouring and for the blue colour wash in the background.  The sentiment is from SSS … the secondary one was stamped first and the ‘wishing’ was cut into it and the flower stems.   I stacked the word onto apple green craft foam, pieced it back into the watercolour panel and added a scattering of SSS sequins, before adhering the finished panel flat onto my card front.

So … will you join in with us?  There are so many options with this Celebrations theme … and we’d love it if you joined us in the gallery!  This fortnight we’re sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps … not only did the very generous Michele provide the DT with lovely goodies to play with (thanks so much, Michele!) … she’s also giving away a US$25 gift voucher to a randomly drawn participant who uses the Die Cutting/Fussy Cutting twist!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of fabulous inspiration from our amazing DT and from our wonderfully talented Guest Designer, Elizabeth Stewart from Paper Sweetness.

I’m linking my blooms up with …

I adore these C.F. blooms, Anita, how you’ve brought them to life, and planted them in green fun foam wishes! I’m having a total failure to craft for the last week – but Bobby is coming for a play day tomorrow – she’ll give me a boost! Hmmm wonder if she has any C.F. goodies? xxoo

Wow Anita, you did a fabulous job masking and adding another flower to the bunch! I love this pretty flower and love the way you have watercolored it. Love the way you cut the “wishing” into the card and sentiment-so cool looking and makes the card even more special. Hugs, Brenda

Your yellow flowers pop off your beautifully washed background, Anita. The ‘wishing’ cut into the stems and sentiment looks fantastic. I think I need to invest in some more fun foam.

See what an enabler you are…now I’m wondering why I don’t have this stamp set. The card is so delicate and sweet. Inlaying that die on green craft foam is a stroke of genius…really makes it pop. Just gorgeous, as a whole. Need to put my big girl shoes on and come up with something, but I can guarantee, it won’t be as pretty as your card.

So pretty Anita. Love the bright yellow and blue against the white embossing. The colour foam just adds a bit of colour under the raised sentiment … awesome! xx

Beautiful bouquet, I love the design of these flowers, and cool idea to mask & have 3 of them in the arrangement. Wonderful watercoloring in the yellow blossoms with the soft blue shadows. Just so pretty with the white embossing, and I’m loving the way you did the sentiment. It really stands out so nicely. Very brilliant way to do the inlay treatment …TFS & Hugs

This is so beautiful, Anita! I wish I could see your shimmer, because well….we all love a little (lot) of WoS! Also curious how it was to piece foam back into the diecut card… Wonderful!

Your water-coloured blooms are beautifully delicate, wonderfully pretty! I see that you’re having success with your Zig markers. My set of 12 and I are still negotiating the terms of our relationship…and as you can see, things are not going well! I’m being bested by markers! Gahhhhh!
