Time Out DT #56, The Card Concept #54, SSS Work It Wednesday – April

Hello … bonjour!  Hope your week has been going along wonderfully!  We have a delicious new challenge for you today at Time Out … there’s a ‘Designer to CASE’ theme for the next fortnight.  Our designer is the uber talented Kay Miller (yes, she of My Joyful Moments fame!) … who has given us the most stunning card to be inspired by (a little further down).  Today is also the birthday of a lovely, generous and amazingly talented friend, who just happens to be one of our teamies at Time Out … so Joyce … Happy, Happy Birthday … hope your day is filled with joy and laughter … and that the year ahead is blessed with dreams come true!  Here’s Joyce‘s card (which I hope has made it safely across oceans and continents!) … Time Out DT 56Time Out  and here’s Kay‘s gorgeous inspiration …

See the resemblance?  Yep, I picked out Kay‘s colour palette, floral images and dimension … and twisted with rather more extensive splattering, a panel rather than a frame, and a different layout.  My bouquet is from WPlus9‘s Fresh Cut Florals, adhered at different levels onto a pierced rectangle from MFT (Lake House stash).  The panel was stamped with an Avery Elle sentiment, popped up on foam tape onto the shimmery silver splattered base … and I added a touch of Stickles to all the flower centres.

How can you not CASE Kay‘s delicious card … it’s just impossible to resist isn’t it?  You can use any or all of the elements in this beauty to inspire you … and when you’ve finished creating, we’d love to see the results in our gallery!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of ideas from our wonderful DT, and from our delightful and talented Guest Designer, Marlena from Marlena is Faithfully Crafting.  Hope to see you there!

I’m playing along at …

Pink and grey – one of my favourite colour combos. Must find the time to join in again this week. You’ve inspired me to get those fresh cut florals inky again! Beautiful as always!

I’ve been a follower of Kay for some time and agree with you wholeheartedly – she is definitely talented! Your take on her card is fabulous, Anita – I’m a huge fan of the pink/grey colour combo as it always looks so lovely! Love the linen texture of your base panels spattered with the grey ink spots!

This is such a beautiful card, and I can say with certainty that it is even more dazzling in person, as it arrived in my mail box on the very day of the occasion in question. Love all the glimmer and shimmer that I can see in person, and the wonderful pink and grey bouquet of flowers that I can’t stop admiring as I am looking at this card in my hand right now. Thanks so much for your thoughfulness, my friend.

Your card is fantastic, Anita. You’ve stamped those tiny florals with the perfect ink and the splatters landed just where they should.

Hola, Anita! I was thinking of you so I just wanted to pop in and say hello. So, how is the south of France? I’m in Texas (San Antonio) and we are starting to cook. We hit 90*F already. Typical. I have really been crafting lately. I’m still trying to figure out my color medium. Markers fight with me. It’s bad enough I struggle with color, but right now I have been burning it up with my color pencils and making some really cute cards. Nothing as awesome as yours, but cute for me. ha-ha I hope you are well. Thanks for always sharing such beautiful ideas.

ANITA! How, how, how did this month pass so quickly! Time to add words to the “love this”thought bubbles I’ve sent your way for each of the several cards I’m behind. Your pink/grey floral design here, layered so stylishly, is gorgeous! Love this…
