Hello … bonjour! Today sees the start of a fabulous new challenge at Time Out … this fortnight, we have a Masculine theme … with an optional technique twist of using mixed media. Our definition of mixed media is a simple one … use stamps and ink plus two other elements that add texture and/or dimension. It can still be CAS if that’s your style … and the twist is optional … so you can go without if you prefer … which is what I did …
I stamped the ‘celebrate’ (STAMPlorations) onto a card panel and coloured the letters with Zigs and a white gel pen in the style of the French flag. The word was masked, I stamped the top part of the Eiffel Tower cake (Shirley B’s World Cakes by STAMPlorations), and added Stickles to the candle flame. The tiny SSS supplementary sentiment finished it off. The panel was popped up onto the base card on craft foam … the base had been stamped with Papertrey stripes some time ago for a project that didn’t work quite as I’d hoped … seemed to go rather well here!
Feel like giving your fingers some creative exercise? We’d love for you to join us! This fortnight we’re sponsored by STAMPlorations … not only did the very generous Shery provide the DT with lovely goodies to play with (thanks so much, Shery!) … she’s also giving away a US$10 gift voucher to our winner (as voted for by the DT) … and an ARTplorations stencil to a randomly drawn participant who uses the Mixed Media twist! All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with heaps of fabulous inspiration from our amazing DT and from our wonderfully talented Guest Designer, Patti at Stationery Styles (if you don’t know Patti, do go for a visit … her blog is filled with delicious cards for you to meander around!)
My French celebration is heading over to …
CASology – Masculine
The Paper Players – Cherry Cobbler, Dapper Denim, Whisper White (my closest colours!)
SSS Monday – World Traveller

This is awesome, Anita! The multicolored sentiment and stripes in the background are fabulous! Also, I just mentioned on Joyce’s blog after seeing this stamp set all over the place this is the first time I realized that the images are not just famous monuments but also cakes! (Got to pay more attention!)
Talk about covering several challenges at once…clearly, you’re a master at it. This card is CAS elegance. Love the colored sentiment…it POPS right off the card like a champagne cork. (Why oh why do I always revert to wine, hmmm?) I see a winner in your future, my friend.
This is just awesome! What a fun sentiment…along with the little birthday greeting…as well as the Eiffel Tower! Wowza! Love it all! So happy you played with my colors at the Paper Players this week!

Oh Anita, how fun this card is! I love it! I love that the tower has a candle on top, such a cool stamp. I also love how you colored your sentiment, I don’t think I’ve ever noticed until now that your flag colors are blue, white, red and ours is red, white, blue. Anyway it is such a fabulous CAS card and a fun one too! Hugs, Brenda

This is fantastic, and I love the image you chose. Putting the Tour Eiffel atop your sentiment was a brilliant choice. Love the way you incorporated the blue, white and red. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.
This card is pure genius – to color the celebrate in the colors of the French flag!!!!!! Love Shirley’s Eiffel Tower! I should use that set again – it is just wonderful!
I love how the Eiffel Tower is straddling the sentiment (which looks fabulous in patriotic colours!).
This looks like a dun Eiffeltpwer! The frame on the card looks gorgeous! Hope you are enjoying a fun weekend!

Really stunning card Anita! The combination of stamp sets is perfect – it looks like one image! I love the stripes on the base card too! Jill
Love this Anita, what a fun themed card 🙂
Love this card Anita! The sentiment is a perfect place for your birthday Eiffel Tower to rest on!
Love the wee peep of stamped striped (don’t imagine that surprised you at all!). Great job ‘balancing” the Eiffel Tower on sentiment (fab masking!) and that you tied it all together with the colors of the flag!
The striped bg looks great with the Eiffel tower and sentiment + I love the French colors! Very fun card!
Ahhh…your beautiful card sparks memories of the two Tour de France-themed trips my brother and I took (back when Lance was still a ‘hero’). We traveled/rode (or, in my case, stood on the sidelines, awaiting the peloton’s arrival) the same routes as the riders each day, arriving in Paris to watch the finale. On both trips, we extended our stay to include three days to explore Paris…such a gorgeous city. To see the Eiffel Tower in real life still creates a sense of awe (Id id not, however, even ‘try’ to climb the stairs…my brother did. Heights…scary! He has a great photo of me, standing at the bottom, from his vantage point at the top). I’d love to return to France…and watching the Tour on TV now only increases the desire….
Hugs~c
Ok, so I am all caught up with your posts… and I really feel inspired to create… my mojo is a bit on the low side… thanks my friend, for making the most beautiful cards. Hugs to you and have a great day!
Mwah!
