Time Out DT #71, Where Creativity Meets C9 #3, Seven Hills Crafts – November, SSS Wednesday 23 November, Uniko – November

Hello … bonjour … and to my friends in the US … Happy Thanksgiving!  I wish you a day blessed with joy and filled with the love and laughter of family and friends!  Today marks the start of a lovely new challenge at Time Out … this time our theme is ‘Christmas’ … with an optional twist of using glitter or shimmer.  Here’s where I went with it …

time-out-dt-71Time OutI sponged the card base with three Distress Inks, blending them around where the die cut figure would be, then spritzed and splattered the finished background with Shimmer Spray.  The Concord & 9th star and Madonna with the Infant Jesus was cut out of the same card as the base, I stamped the sentiment in navy, and adhered the die cuts flat to the base.  This is one of the designs I worked on at the Lake House … there’s a lot more shimmer on it IRL than appears here … a closer look gives you a better idea but it’s even more shimmery than this shows …

time-out-dt-71-detailHow about playing along with us … we’d love it if you did!  For those who twist and use glitter or shimmer, there’ll be a random draw for a £15 evoucher from our sponsor this fortnight, the lovely Bev at Uniko … and as usual, the winner, as voted for by the DT, will be invited to guest design with us for a future challenge!  There’s lots of inspiration over at the Time Out blog, from our fabulous Design Team and from our talented Guest Designer, Valentyna from Flourishtina (who you need to visit if you haven’t … so many gorgeous cards and creativity to inspire you!).  Hope to see you in the gallery!

STAMPlorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop

          Time Out

Hello … bonjour!  I’m delighted to be representing Time Out today … at a special blog hop being held over at STAMPlorations. The STAMPlorations girls and a whole heap of amazing designers from all over the blogosphere have come together for the second Stamplorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop .  If you’ve arrived from the lovely Maria’s blog (Riesling Mama), you’re right on track … if not, you can always leap (tee hee) to the little blue frog at the bottom for details of all the participants.  I have four cards for you today, all made using the Many Blessing Bundle … starting with a scattering of autumn leaves …

stamplorations-giving-thanks-blog-hop-1This was created using the Autumn Falling ARTplorations Stencil, sponged and subsequently splattered with various Distress Inks and a touch of gold.  I die cut the CUTplorations Blessings Word Die in gold foil and brown card, stacked them slightly offset, adhered them over the sponged/splattered panel and added the supplementary sentiment from the Many Blessings stamp set.  The panel was adhered to a card base that’d been sponged at the edges with Ground Espresso Distress Ink … and I was done!  How about a detail shot of the shimmery gold …

stamplorations-giving-thanks-blog-hop-1-detailNext up is a harvest basket, also from the Many Blessings set, stamped, coloured with alcohol markers and cut with the matching die.  I added glossy accents to those rosy apples, heat embossed the ‘sweet’ onto the basket in gold and popped the whole lot onto a woodgrain panel.  The ‘blessings’ was cut twice … once out of white card, which was swiped with Versamark and heat embossed in gold … and once out of craft foam.  The two were stacked together and adhered over the basket and woodgrain.

stamplorations-giving-thanks-blog-hop-2You can’t really see the shine on those luscious apples from here … so here’s a close up …

stamplorations-giving-thanks-blog-hop-2-detailMy last two cards are more or less mirror images of one another.  I sponged a card panel with Distress Inks and cut the Blessings die repeatedly from it … then did the same cuts with an ordinary white card panel.  This one has the white sentiments inlaid into the sponged base …

stamplorations-giving-thanks-blog-hop-3… dressed up with shimmer spray to make it glisten …

stamplorations-giving-thanks-blog-hop-3-detail… and this one has the sponged sentiments adhered to a white card base, trimmed top and bottom with some shimmery brown card strips (thanks, Barb!).  I used the same brown card stock to make dots for the i’s … topped them with Glossy Accents … and covered the words with Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle.

stamplorations-giving-thanks-blog-hop-4 Here’s a better view of the shimmer and shine …

stamplorations-giving-thanks-blog-hop-4-detailNow what would a blog hop be without a giveaway or two … or more?  There are plenty of gorgeous goodies up for grabs … all the details are over at the STAMPlorations blog, so do check it out if you didn’t start there!  If you’re already hopping, your next stop is with the amazing Shirley (Shirley Bee’s Stamping Stuff).

Just below is the little blue frog I mentioned earlier … if you need to go back to the start or would like to check out the full list of designers taking part, just click on him and he’ll whisk you off to a wonderful journey of gratitude and inspiration … enjoy!

Addicted to Stamps & More #219, Happy Little Stampers Dies – November, SSS Work It Wednesday – October, Tic-Tac-Toe #21

Hello … bonjour!  A delightful, sweet friend and her DH moved house recently … as with some house moves, it wasn’t smooth to start with … but now they’re settled and (mostly!) unpacked, and they have their card, so I’m sharing it with you …

atsm-219-hls-dies-november-mft-colour-57-ssswiw-october-tic-tac-toe-21A mid grey scalloped pierced panel (Winnie & Walter with a bit of extra cutting to reduce the size), a little SSS house with a chimney lovingly constructed by hand (’cause a house with a cheminée is so cosy), and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted (with the o masked off and replaced with a W&W heart).  The final touch was to light the fire so that those tiny red Wink of Stella’d and Glossy Accented die cut W&W hearts would go floating off up the chimney!

This little home is off to …

Time Out DT #70,

Hello … bonjour!  We have another fabulous challenge starting at Time Out this morning … this fortnight, we have a soft, feminine Home Sweet Home inspiration picture for you … I stretched our card challenge a smidge and went with something a little different for my take …time-out-dt-70Time Out and here’s the inspiration …

Can you tell my focus was on the flowers, those delicate pinks, creams and greens and the frame on the wall?  I stamped a panel of textured cardstock with Concord & 9th‘s wildflowers, coloured the blooms with alcohol markers and added the quote over the top using letters from Concord & 9th’s Sophisticated Script.  The panel was trimmed to size (13 x 17 cm/5.25 x 6.75 inches) and I mounted it in a woodgrain frame, which can stand on a table or be hung on a wall.  The finished picture has  been packaged (very well!) and hopefully has reached it’s destination … it’s for a lovely friend who is in the throes of a craft room remodel … I thought the quote was appropriate for her new creative space!

What takes your eye in this photo … there’s so much to take in … the pastel colours, the soft cushions, that ornate sofa, the gold wings … or something else, as I did?  Whatever it is, we’d love you to be inspired enough to make a card and link it up to our gallery.  All the details are over at Time Out, along with heaps of ideas from our fabulous DT and our lovely Guest Designer, Hazel from Hazel’s Paper Designs (you need to go visit if you don’t know Hazel … you’ll be wonderfully inspired browsing round her delicious blog!).  Hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Less Is More #300, Virginia’s View #25, Tic-Tac-Toe #21, SSS Work It Wednesday – October … and a Lovely Visit!

Hello … bonjour … hope your week has been going along wonderfully!  Before I get to the news of a lovely visit I received recently, I have a CAS card to share for a quartet of challenges that just seem to fit together beautifully.  Want to see …

lim-300-vv-25-tic-tac-toe-21-ssswiw-octoberThis sweet bloom is from a WPlus9 flower builder set … there are lots of other images as well …  I just wanted to let this one take centre stage!  It’s stamped just off the edge of a white card panel and has the flower head coated copiously with Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle … it’s just about visible on the top two petals if you peer in a bit.  I added a sentiment from SSS and some crystal bling before popping the panel up on craft foam onto a card base that had been trimmed along the bottom with washi tape.

I’m joining in with these playing-nicely-together challenges (badges below) …

Less Is More – Celebrations/Festivals … it’s the 300th … congratulations, Chrissie and the team … what a fantastic milestone!  I have a soft spot for LIM as it was the first challenge I played along with, way back when we were all still young … and when we were still in double digits!

Virginia’s View – Stripes/Plaids

SSS Work It Wednesday – Use a Simon Brand Product

Now, that wonderful visit.  I was thrilled a few months ago to get a note from my lovely friend Barb at Love2Colour that she and DH Cal were going to be making the trip from California to France for an amazing tour … and that they would be within a couple of hours of us during one of their overnight stops!  The timing was perfect (just a few days before I headed to the Lake House) … and on a sunny Sunday afternoon at the beginning of October, we met Barb and Cal at their hotel in Bordeaux.

anita-barb-1What a fun and delightful afternoon and evening we had together … and what a delicious dinner we enjoyed at a great restaurant recommended by the hotel concierge.  Barb and Cal … thank you … it was truly a joy to meet you … and to spend time together IRL.  One day, we may even get to do the same thing in reverse … what an adventure that would be!

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights – October, CAS on Sunday #95, Seize The Birthday 20 October, SSS Wednesday 26 October

Hello … bonjour … and Happy All Saints Day!  I’m rushing in with a  ‘partly done at the Lake House’ card to share with you today …

The part I did at the Lake House was the stamping of the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Peony (thanks, Ardyth!) onto watercolour paper (thanks, Bev!).  Here at home, I used my Zigs and water to add colour and shading to the bloom and some leaves, trimmed them out and mounted them on foam tape into the corner of a stitched rectangle card panel (courtesy of my sweet friend, Claire in Australia).  The sentiment is made up of two different ones from WPlus9‘s Happy Wishes, I scattered a few sequins around it, layered Spectrum Noir glitter pen onto the flower centre, and added some dark grey splatters, before adhering the panel to a card base.

I’m playing along with four challenges, two of which are closing their doors shortly (hence the rush!) …
