Time Out DT #75, Darnell’s NBUS Challenge #8, Where Creativity Meets C9 #5, Happy Little Stampers Dies – January

Hello … bonjour!  We have a CASE the Designer challenge for you this fortnight at Time Out … and our designer is the amazingly talented Ksenija from Sweet Kobylkin. Ksenija’s delicious card is below … here’s my take on it …

time-out-dt-75Time Outand here’s Ksenija‘s CAS delight …

The pops of bright colour and whimsical style of Ksenija‘s card really caught my eye, so that’s what I focussed on for my CASE.  I used Concord & 9th’s Wildflowers set, randomly stamped onto a stitched card panel, and coloured the leaves and flowers with Zigs.  The panel was adhered over craft foam onto a grey card base and I added a Concord & 9th sentiment, popped up on foam tape, to finish off.

What draws your attention on Ksenija‘s card … the CAS-ness, the tone on tone background, those vibrant colours … or something else?  You can use any or all of the elements that Ksenija used for your card … we’d love to see what you create in our gallery!  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with loads of wonderful inspiration from our amazing DT, and from our fabulous Guest Designer, Marjan from Marjan’s Blog (do go over for a visit … there’s so much loveliness to see!).

Guest Designer – CASology #232, Darnell’s NBUS #8, Happy Little Stampers Dies – January

Hello … bonjour!  I’m thrilled to be guest designing with the CASology team this week … thanks so much for the invitation, Melissa … and thanks to the DT too for having me!  The Cue Card is ‘Cut’ … here’s where I went with it …

guest-designer-casology-232casology-guest-designer-badgecasology-week-232-cutYou can see where my ‘Cut’ is can’t you!  I stamped the WPlus9 blooms around the sweet spot (where the thirds lines intersect) on a white card panel, popped up the NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff in Darnellese) and Wink of Stella’d die cut sentiment onto craft foam next to it, added some dots of Glossy Accents to the flower centres and sprinkled on a little bling.  Voilà!

I do hope you’ll let your imagination wander through all things ‘Cut’ … and that you’ll join in the fun at CASology this week.  If you haven’t been for a visit already, do go over there and check out what fabulous inspiration the Design Team has prepared for you to get your creative juices flowing!  Look forward to seeing you in the gallery!

My ‘Cut’ card is also heading to …

Darnell’s NBUS Challenge – Anything Goes … NBUS die cut sentiment … sorry my friend, no kraft paper and no coloured pencils in my possession!

Time Out DT #74, CASology #230, Less Is More #309, Simon Says Stamp

Hello … bonjour!   Our first challenge of 2017 starts today at Time Out … our theme is ‘Winter’ … with the option of ‘White on White’ (only using white except a neutral for the sentiment).  Here’s how I interpreted the theme …

time-out-dt-74  Time Out

A lovely friend (thanks Judith!) sent me some of these aptly named Dazzling Snowflake die cuts (from Memory Box) … and to me this snowflake says winter in a most delicious way!  I trimmed down the panel that it was cut into, backed it with white vellum, stamped the Winnie & Walter sentiment in Delicata Silver, added the dots with a silver gel pen and popped on some clear bling.  There’s a sentiment inside, also W&W, that reads ‘a bright, brilliant birthday’.  I wanted to find a way of allowing the light to shine through the vellum, so I cut a square into the card base leaving a border around the edge, added foam tape over the remaining space, and adhered the snowflake panel over the top.  I used a ruler and craft knife … before thinking that it could have been done with a circular or square die, which would have been slightly more straightforward … ho hum, next time!  Want to see what it looks like with the light behind it?  Voilà …

time-out-dt-74-detailBet you already know what a tricky shot that was to get!

So … what ideas is your creative brain already working on for ‘Winter’?  We’d love to see what you come up with in our gallery.  If you choose to use the option of ‘White on White’, you could win a £15 GC from Uniko in our random draw … and as usual, our overall winner, as voted for by the DT, will be invited to be our Guest Designer in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog, along with tons of inspiration from our wonderful DT and our fabulous and talented returning Guest Designer, Claire from Life on the Scrap Heap (who you need to visit if you haven’t already … lots of loveliness to explore!).

I’m sending my snowflake along to play at …

Essentials by Ellen Pinsights – December, SSS Monday – 2 January, SSS Wednesday – 28 December, SSS Work it Wednesday – December

Hello … bonjour!  I’m squeezing in past a couple of closing doors with my card today …

pinsights-dec-sssm-2-1-sssw-28-12-ssswiw-decAn Essentials by Ellen hydrangea and sentiment stamped onto watercolour card stock, with that lovely bloom watercoloured with Zigs and a water brush.  I splattered it with a little Black Soot Distress Ink, added some white gel pen detailing to the flower centres and popped the panel up on foam onto the card base, over a slender strip of black along the right hand edge.  This card is going to a sweet friend who recently and suddenly lost her mother, so I decided against adding any shimmer or bling.

I’m playing along at …

Essentials by Ellen Pinsights – Mood Board (below) … I picked out the red ornament hanging against the marked door in white (right, second last picture) as my inspiration.

SSS Monday – Start Afresh … the hydrangea is new to me

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

SSS Work It Wednesday – Something New With New Product … the hydrangea is new to me
