A New Challenge at Time Out – #90 – Autumn Theme – With A Twist!

Hello … bonjour … hope your week has been going well!  We start a wonderful new challenge at  Time Out this morning … this fortnight we have a theme for you … Autumn, with an optional twist of speed stamping!  If you’d like to twist, gather up your supplies, make your card in 10 minutes time or less and let us know how long it took.  That’s what I did …

This one layer card, featuring leaves from Concord & 9th, took 8 minutes and 5 seconds to make … with the help of MISTI.  There are two colours on each leaf (one light along one edge, one medium along the other … they blend in the middle) and the veins were added with a darker shade from the same colour family.  To add a little autumnal glow, I overstamped the veins in Delicata gold as I went … and did the same with the sentiment.  Want to see the glimmery detail (you can see the variations in the colours better here too) …

Where will our theme take you?  Will you go with our speed stamping twist for your autumnal card … or would you like to take your time … it’s up to you.  Whichever way you choose, we’d love to see what you create in our gallery.  We’re sponsored this fortnight by Happy Little Stampers (thanks, Kylie!), who are offering a $15 GC to a random twister … a great reason to give speed stamping a try!  As usual, our overall winner, as voted for by the DT, will be invited to guest design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at the Time Out blog … along with heaps of delicious inspiration from our wonderful DT … and from our fabulously talented Guest Designer, Elaine, from Craft-E-Place.  If you haven’t seen Elaine’s lovely work before, do pay her a visit … her blog is chock full of yummy CAS creations!

Wow now that’s a fast card Anita!!!! But it sure, doesn’t look like a fast card, it is so elegant looking with the gold and the layers of color. Yes a stunning card can be made fast… At least by you it can! Hugs, Brenda

Ex-quisite…that glint of gold is brilliant. Colors are perfect for the challenge and the sentiment is always appropriate. I don’t know how to make a card in ten minutes…maybe ten hours. But I’m going to give it the old college try.

Hard to believe that you created this beauty in less than 10 minutes! Love it!
I don’t know if I should try this. Just yesterday I thought I must be the world’s slowest card maker! Even the simplest card takes me forever (I have trouble making decisions)!

It is so funny that our cards took the same amount of time. My cards usually take forever and I change my mind a million times along the way, so this one was a REAL challenge for me. I love your wonderful simple card – the Delicata ink is the superstar here. It looks gorgeous.

Oh, no, I don’t want to stop making beach cards yet!! Wah! Sigh, I guess you’re right, Anita, time to start making those fall cards because that seems such a short season with all the hype and hoopla and celebration of winter and Christmas fast …oh, I can’t even say it!! I love your card! I was quite mesmerized by the way your pretty leaves were inked and then there was some sort of auto-blending happening?! Sounds like pure magic and looks like it, too, with the help of the gold overstamping! You = genius! LYAMYMAAHYHALW!! Hugs, Darnell

Autumn is my favorite season because of all the wonderful colors and you’ve included them on your quickly stamped card, Anita. I love those long skinny leaves and veins of gold make them extra special.

Mille bises !

Beautiful design and gorgeous Autumn colours- I can’t believe you created this beauty in less than 10 minutes! I didn’t notice the gold in the first image – but it really shows up in the close up picture – really spectacular touch – I can imagine how pretty it looks IRL!
