A New Challenge at Time Out – #91 – CASEing Bev Brown of Uniko

Hello … bonjour!   Hope you’ve had chance to get crafty this week … me, not so much … though I am here with a card for our fabulous new challenge starting today at Time Out.  Our theme this time around is CASE The Designer … and our designer is the wonderfully talented and sweet owner of Uniko … Bev Brown.  Bev‘s gorgeous card is a little further down … here’s my take on it …

Time Out… and here’s Bev‘s original …

Yummy huh?  I was taken with the outline bloom against the striped colours and the scripty primary sentiment, so focused my attention on them.  Started with a linen card panel which I washed with soft colour using a broad brush, well diluted Distress Inks and lots of water … the latter so that the different shades would blend gently.  Once dry, the panel was trimmed to size, stamped with this delicious flourish-y almost tropical floral sprig from Uniko (Originally Organic) and edged with slender strips of black each side.  It was adhered flat to the base, I stamped the SSS sentiment next to it and added a single tiny bling to the dot on one of the i’s … didn’t seem to need anything else!

Where will Bev‘s card take your creative imagination … to the colours, stripes, line art, florals, layout … or something else?  Whatever takes your eye, we’d love for you to play along!  This fortnight, we’re sponsored by Uniko (thanks so much, Bev) … our overall winner (as voted for by the DT) will receive a £15 GC … and will also be invited to design with us in a future challenge.  All the details are over at Time Out, along with a whole heap of wonderful ideas from our fabulous DT … and from our talented Guest Designer, Lucie (who you need to visit if you don’t already know her work … so much splendid CASness to enjoy!).

I’m playing along at …

SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes

SSS Work It Wednesday – Favourite Stamps … both the image and sentiment are among mine

The Heart Desires – Inspiration Board below … those luscious sorbet colours

Thanks so much for coming by, your visits and comments are always a joy!  Anita 🙂

This is gorgeous Anita. I love your beautiful, soft rainbow of color background for the floral image. Thanks for the description of the technique. I am still not a confident user of brushes… I love the way you framed the stamped panel, and the placement of the sentiment. Have a lovely day! xx Stephanie

Anita your blending is so wonderfully soft, I thought surely you’d purchased one of those wonderful blending brushes! I LOve those colors blending so seamlessly!
You’ve topped it with a gorgeous flourish – as you always do, come to think of it!
LOve Bev, and her wonderful Uniko products – wish I had every one – alas, I have zero! Which only makes me love them more when you all use them! xx

OOOOOOOH! The pastel wash of color is perfection behind that lovely image. Black strips accentuate the black stamping so it comes out and grabs the eye. Then the soft colors soothe the eye to make a simply beautiful and calming picture. That make the sentiment the perfect tie in to the whole. Amazing work.

Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Uh-huh. Your watercoloring is stunning, and the Uniko sprig over it works perfectly. The symmetry… Those colors… The black for contrast… I do love everything about this card, my friend. You’ve done Bev (hehe) proud! Both of us, lol!! Truly a delight to behold. Thinking of you, and missing you every single day! xoxoxoxo

Thank you for the inspiration I’m soaking up from your take on Bev’s card, Anita! Her full-page gorgeousness was a bit intimidating for me, but your rainbow panel brought it all into focus! Mwah! I spose it’s that time of year where (as we used to say in farm country) “you have to make hay while the sun shines!” now that the seasons are changing! LYAMYMAAHEIGW!! Hugs, Darnell

Bises xx

I was certain I left a comment (trying to ensure my special friends know I love them and their creativity!), but I either didn’t or it was lost in what appears to be our ongoing internet glitches. One of the side-effects of living in a construction zone *grin*! At any rate, a second (or rather, fifth) helping of seeing your card is delightful; an opportunity to relish in your lovely blended panel that is a perfect backdrop for the Originally Organic image. The Wishing sentiment…soooo pretty! As you can tell with the cards I shared, you certainly inspired me!
    Hugs and love,

Very late with my “commenting rounds”… Two last weeks have been very demanding at work and I’ve been so brain-dead during evenings that I’ve got nothing done! 🙂 I absolutely love your take on Bev’s card. The blend of colors in the background looks stunning and I love the design with the colored panel on top of a stylish, linen card base… And that sentiment is so fun, I love the swirly “wishing”-word! Great work from you as always!
